Mar 6, 2010Lucky guys with your beta ._.Posted in: Starcraft & SC2
And while I partly agree Zhar, the beta is a free program and nobody loses money over a crack for it, but just so everybody stops skirting the rules stop talking about playing the cracked beta.
Mar 5, 2010Posted in: Unannounced ClassQuote from "agent101" »I never said this game would suck, I'm just simply listing some things that I DISLIKE about D3 that I have been reading up on
Of course, I mean, theres plenty of more things that I like about diablo than I dislike, I never said the game was going to be shit..
Nobody said you said the game was going to be shit. I'm only asking that you read up on what you post before posting, remember the game is in development and a lot will change before it's released.
Mar 5, 2010Posted in: Unannounced ClassQuote from "maka" »to be honest, Huck's description of how runes will work is a bit......hopeful
looking at what blizz has shown us so far, the runes don't change skills THAT much (not like Huck described)....i mean, yeah, making your firebomb bounce or leave fire on the ground is cool, but it's still basically the same firebomb skill! also, teleport....yeah, making teleport do some damage might seem all cool and unusual, but seriously....who's gonna use that? and that's not even considering the fact that teleport is gonna have a cooldown. so, skill runes ARE COOL, but they're no substitute for a bigger amount of skills.
But see, there's a good example of how the game changes. When runes were announced there was no real cooldown on Blink, now there is so I doubt that rune exists anymore, or was changed in some way.
Mar 5, 2010Posted in: Unannounced ClassQuote from "agent101" »I said 40 spells are nice, even if SOME are useless
5 spells just simply isn't enough, the only class that looks interesting with abilities (offensive) is Barbarian, Wizards and Witch Doctors (besides summonings) look pretty deprived to me.
I'm sorry...what? How many people play Diablo 2 still, all the time. Hmm. How many of you spam the same ability.
Wizards and WD look deprived? Are you blind? Wizard skill tree as of most recent Blizzcon. Go look, read it over, come back here and tell me the Wizard doesn't have enough skills for a game that's not finished and will most likely be tweaked tons over the next year, two years. Not only that, the Witch Doctor has the least announced skills so far, you can't honestly make your judgment based on that.
Also why would you want Blizzard to make an extra 40 useless spells nobody will use, taking up even more development time, even more money? Just for the sake of saying "Oh look at me I don't use these 40 useless skills."?
Quote from "agent101" »Don't get me wrong, as I said, I like the arcane idea within the Wizard, however, their is a lack of spells that I have been seeing.
Link above, look at it.
Quote from "agent101" »Heres what I am getting at.
If you have 5 spells, what is the point of leveling? To make those spells stronger and do the same thing over again? Pretty much your passives should balance out with your level, and the level of the monsters correct?
"same thing over again" ...yes, this is Diablo. You play the same five acts over and over again and people have been doing so for what, 8 years now?
And as to the point of the point of leveling when you only have 5 skills, I'd like to ask you something. As, say, a Druid in WoW, how many skills do you use in a fight? Not many, right, you have a certain rotation? Ever notice how your skill tree buffs certain abilities but not others? That's called a spec. Same thing goes with any game that has a skill tree in it. Did you have your head in the sand when the rune system was announced by any chance? Each spell is going to have multiple effects depending on what rune you're using.
Quote from "agent101" »What is the fun of using the same 5 spells throughout the game?
Again: What fun is Diablo 2?
Quote from "Huck" »First of all, no one said there are 5 spells. There are much more than that.
I did actually, but Agent here was taking me too literally. What I meant is there are going to be a handful of spells you use regularly and some you don't, depending on how you spec.
Quote from "Huck" »Second, runes change the way spells behave. So, for instance, you could (potentially) have a rune that freezes all enemies when they're hit by Whirlwind. Or maybe sets them on fire. Or maybe it lasts a little longer. Or it knocks enemies back. Or it leaches health. Or the cooldown is reduced. Or it confuses enemies.
Read this, Agent. You might learn something.
Quote from "Huck" »Third, the game isn't anywhere near to being finalized, so the sheer amount of changes being made every day invalidates the argument altogether.
But now you'll respond with a pedantic and trivial claim that the game, in some mystical form or shape, has simply displeased you. And I am OK with that, but just as long as you stop using crappy reasoning, like you've been using for the past 5 pages.
Nice post Huck, I can't agree with you more.
Agent, either make sense, do your homework, come back here with facts, or just stop logging in. Please.
Mar 5, 2010Seniri posted a message on Games to play while waiting for Diablo 3? (multiple merged threads)Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is 75% off on Steam, going for just shy of $8. I've heard it's good and will most likely get it, there's a demo if that sounds good.Posted in: Other Games
Recently I've played through the two most recent Tomb Raider games, Bioshock 2, halfway through Red Faction: Guerrilla, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, tried Dark Void (hated it). Most of the games there are newish so they're over the $20 price tag, but all of them (except DV) are awesome.
Mar 4, 2010Seniri posted a message on + Official PC Builds Discussion Thread + (Reroute all "will my computer run this?" questions HERE)Posted in: General Discussion (non-Diablo)Quote from "Donsro" »Nice job! I feel enhanced with computer hardware now. I'm planning on building a laptop, but I'll have someone do it for me most likely. It's probably a whole different animal then a desktop.
Man I tried taking apart one of my laptops a while back to fix a fan and nearly cried with frustration, there are like 5 different sizes of screws to deal with, BEFORE taking the keyboard off. Do your homework real well or ask someone for assistance, those things are animals.
Mar 4, 2010Posted in: Unannounced ClassQuote from "agent101" »with the lack of spells i highly doubt I'd be anything near a caster.. thats one of the only thing I liked about casters was the spell variation, liike having 40 spells or something would be nice regardless useful or useless
There's like 10, and the rune things make the effects differ. D2 there was a TON of spells and you only ever used one or two, tops. Each class in D3 is going to use like 5 skills regularly.

When i first saw it on steam for 9.99 i was like, WOW! this is way cheaper then the original borderlands game that costs like 50bucks and im gonna get it for sure. But now i know what it actually is..
Anyways thanks again
If you want something cheap and fun, take a look at Trine. Try a demo to make sure your PC can handle it, should be fine. It's a short game but it's really, really fun.

Feb 14, 2010On the topic of SC Beta, there's something I can't quite remember.Posted in: News
I bought the internet livestream of Blizzcon 2009, does that give me a chance of getting in beta or not? Or was it only if you were actually there and got a physical key.
Feb 11, 2010Posted in: NewsQuote from "DesmondTiny" »OH NOW I GET IT!! at first I dindt get the sss I juist didnt put the letters to gether to make the words. Lol I feel retarded now
Don't worry man you're not alone. I sat there for like two minutes looking at it trying to figure out what made it unique from other keyboards. Then I read the keys... lol.
Feb 11, 2010Posted in: NewsQuote from "Jamoose" »I guess... I mean if its randomly chhosen between all the people who have a b.net account with atleast one game... It would be shit if a dude who has 1 game will get an invite and you, who got 5, wont....
He has as much of a right to beta SC2 if he wants to as you do. That "one game" might be WoW, and if it is then he just blew your 5 games outta the water.
Quote from "kairu" »and to seniri, I mean't no harm. but the size of Facebook combined with twitter is something to watch for. I do think they will solely slip updates by on these faster on their websites because of the ease. People Might want to pay lot more attention to them because somehow I was on facebook and saw that the second they posted and I almost shat my pants.
No worries, I was just saying this is here so we can discuss it, and I prefer that to some Facebook group where all my friends can see I'm online and never leave me alone. I rarely log on anymore, I hate talking to people.
Feb 11, 2010Posted in: NewsQuote from "kairu" »like um no offense...but they(blizzard( straight up posted this on facebook :S. I'm assuming twitter too.
And everybody here has a Facebook and Twitter account, right? And we can discuss this over Facebook and Twitter as a DiabloFans community right?

Feb 9, 2010Posted in: NewsQuote from "Grimson" »Shit, man. I swear sometimes western developers tend to really try to be the anti-thesis of japanese games many times.
Final Fantasy has their girly looking male characters but may a lightning bolt strike my head if I was the only one who thought that character art (not in game model) looks like a very masculine guy. It wasn't until I read "female monk" that I could see a lame excuse for breasts in the drawing, Seriously, what is with Blizzard's obsession for huge shoulder pads? Someone tell them to stop putting huge shoulder pads on everything. It's gaudy.
Was that you on Kotaku or are you just copying that post? That was me who asked if you're mentally challenged, and the question still holds. I love how breast-obsessed you are - just because they're not the size of watermelons she looks like a dude to you. That's sick. Move to Australia and leave us normal people alone, creep.
Edit: Link is to news article on Australia banning small breasts.
Feb 9, 2010Posted in: NewsQuote from "Grimson" »I think they should have made her more asian/packy looking... I'm not sold on her looking anything like a monk especially the blonde hair.. wtf!? meh doesn't matter I have no interest in playing the monk class anyway... just barb and wizard for me, possibly a rogue if that's what the fifth class will be.
..are you sure that's the word you want to use there?
