Every class has a skill set that works better than others. You don't need to feel gimped or whatever when you try different things, because the game is yours to play.
I always try doing things to make the game fun all the time. Like a over-summoner build with spider queen, huge-ass useless frog, locusts, dogs, garg. Or a no-pet build that forces me to play mp1~2 but feels refreshing every now and then. The list goes on. I don't have to be as effective as the cookie-cutter builds you posted... if its fun, it works for me.

The only thing I have to say about Wizard. is that I was the least impressed with their skill selection in the beta.. Like every skill was just Meh... Except the Orb one.. Other than that it was just sort of lack luster I thought. Not damage wise just aesthetically.
This forum is only big enough for one FFT avatar... Plus Delita is a cocksucker. -

theSkaBoss posted a message on problems with new skill swapping system? On permanence of a build, the point of the skill system is to provide skills for use in combat, and the iterations of the swapping mechanic of the skill system are for making you commit in the moment. Achieving long term permanence is the shared job of your gear (which can affect individual skills, and so over time you will gear up for a certain build of skills) and your runes (a system which is of course not finalized, but the purpose of them and the consequences of using high-level ones wastefully is already clear.)Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
On the topic of the swapping system itself, a little bit of light may be shed on the philosophy behind the current iteration when you hear that you can't swap skills that are on their natural cooldowns either. So in the current iteration, you cannot use your Barbarian earthquake and bypass its 120 second cooldown in favor of the 30 second cooldown of swapping so that you can quickly use another big skill quickly. This, of course, doesn't make the system any more good or bad, but the more we know about it, the more we can make accurate conclusions with it.
Having played through patch 10 quite a bit, and having deliberately swapped skills frequently while adventuring, I will simply say that it is a nice system that makes you think about what skills you dare have on you at any given time, since you can't predict huge mobs, elites, and the like. As an added bonus, you can now make adjustments on the fly, but with enough penalty to discourage abuse. While it is frustrating to have THE skill you need or want and having to wait half a minute, it certainly doesn't hurt my feelings, and isn't even a detraction from the gameplay, as I'm still armed with a perfectly useful weapon, and have at least one or two other skills to fend stuff off with in the meantime. And maybe if I've swapped out multiple skills, or one very important skill, maybe I wasn't supposed to be flinging myself into battle yet anyway. -

codylee17 posted a message on WD class mandatory skills for inferno - unlike the rest?Okay, been lurking on the site for a while. Somehow this thread made me register and post. Sorry if this is a bit too long.Posted in: Witch Doctor: The Mbwiru Eikura
Everybody look to the wall nearest you. How wide is it? Now how thick is it? The rune isn't "Doubles the width of the wall (when looking down at a vertically placed wall)" The only way that they can use a word like width in the rune description is if it is relative to the Witch Doctor, otherwise it changes depending on how the wall is placed. Also, if the AI is intelligent enough to take the most efficient route around the wall then you place it right in front of them, so that the only efficient route is to follow it around. As far as it being "broken" if it can't be walked through due to the lack of a cooldown, for all we know it has an exorbitant mana cost, meaning you can't just keep a permanent barrier up. Although I will concede that this is speculation, in fact since we haven't actually seen the wall since the original unveiling I will drop that skill, I just wanted to bring those points up.
As far as a "petless" Witch Doctor build. I may need some clarification on this, as I am unsure if the two new passives revealed at Blizzcon count as "petless." However, if you take both of those (Spawning Zombie Dogs and chance of spawning fetishes on kill, although I don't remember the exact details) then almost any build can work.
How about;
Haunt - Good damage over time ability, 3 up at a time and hops from dead enemies to live ones
Poison Dart - Good damage with a poison DoT afterward
Grasp of the Dead - A snare that does damage, awesome in my book
Spirit Walk - Everybody loves a good escape maneuver
Horrify - For those moments when things get a little too hairy
Acid Cloud - Drop this on top of Grasp of the Dead for lots of fun
And then you have 1 free passive spot, to use as you choose, plus I didn't even bother using any rune effects. Sure, it's a fairly slow killing skill set, with a lot of the damage coming from damage over time abilities, but with the two passives you suddenly have pets, without even bothering to use the pet skills. However if you prefer not to take those into account, or if you want a petless build without using those passives, then I'll take a deeper look and see what I can come up with.
Sorry if this ran a little long. -

There's a rune for Wall of Zombies that causes it to slow enemies. Therefore we can be assured that the base spell (which is seen in the video) doesn't slow them. You watch 3 monsters walk along the wall, die by it, and never once attack the wall, yet you still assume that the wall can be attacked. The only thing this video proves is that the wall can't be walked through, which has been my point since post #2 of this thread. It's a wall.
As an aside, your condescending memes don't strengthen your argument.

Gonna have to go ahead and agree with the OP, it looks pretty shitty. :/

Damn, beat me to it.
D3maniac, throughout this thread, you've consistently argued each and every point with "lol, you're retarded, I can't believe I'm arguing with these kids, lol so stupid" while rarely addressing any actual arguments made against your point. We're over 170 posts now and you're still the only person who's called another poster a retarded child. Do you think that lends credence to your argument? If you want anyone to take your opinion seriously, try respecting theirs first. No one has a problem with the fact that you have your own opinion. We all think it's wrong and we're trying to present our opinions so that you can see why we disagree with yours, but no one has said you're stupid for having a differing opinion. You're still the only person who has resorted to name-calling. Think about it.

Pretty sure he meant everybody who entered the thread. Not everyone on the site.
Anyway, I asked like 20 of my friends and they all said "lol he's a newb what a newb" and then I called my incredibly gorgeous girlfriend and she said I was totally right and the fact that I owned some newb in an argument on a video game forum really turned her on. It was awesome.
See? I can make shit up too!

The entire premise of this thread is pure speculation. There's no way to know that pet skills will be mandatory for Inferno without having played in Inferno without them and miserably failed.
Also, I never argued that "zombie wall makes you LEET." I simply pointed out that it's a CC spell that you didn't include in your list of "Skills for surviving" in the OP. Are you really arguing that Wall of Zombies wouldn't help you survive?
The only video we've seen (that I know of) featuring Wall of Zombies is the original announcement trailer, and there's nothing there that would lead me to believe that enemies can walk through it.

No love for Wall of Zombies, the one skill that literally and directly prevents enemies from getting close to you? Nothing we've seen indicates that the wall can be attacked (so it's guaranteed to be up for 5 seconds), it has no cooldown, and enemies can't pass through it. Did I mention you can rune it to slow enemies or to double its width? Couple it with Grasp of the Dead and enemies will be sitting ducks ready for you to spam your damaging skills.
I agree that his survival passives are somewhat lacking, but I think he has way better Life restoration capabilities through Runes than any other class (Alabaster Grasp/Spirit Walk, Crimson Haunt/Spirit Barrage/Soul Harvest, Golden Hex/Firebats, etc.).
Don't forget also that most of his CC spells are - or can be runed to be - damaging spells as well. Overall, I think that playing without pets will be somewhat of a hindrance, but it doesn't seem as bad as you're making it out to be.

Blizzard wants your money. The more you interact with other players, the better you are at RMAH, the less money they make. QQQQ

This is supposedly the formula for Zombie Dogs (remember, green text scales, and even at level 1, it's summoning 3, so it has to change somewhere, somehow):

Templar
Enchantress
Scoundrel
I've transcribed some of the quest dialogue for the Templar, but it's not finished. We're also going to need the general chat dialogue for him (as you're questing) for all 5 classes, and I'm sure any help from watching streams or from F&F testers would be greatly appreciated!
