What do you mean by domain? If you mean Terror/Hatred/Destruction, I don't see how that affects anything. The Angiris Council could embody similar good epithets.

If you mean regions of Hell, there's little evidence of it. And in any case does not seem to be true, since Azmodan and Belial are running around in charge now. Besides, even if they held total control in a private circle of their own in Hell, there would still be a need to plot for advantage against each other for the ownership of Sanctuary.

I probably should have been more specific. I wasn't thinking in terms of landmass, but more...mindsets? Emotional "Domains". For Example, Diablo controls demons of Terror, Mephisto controls demons of Hatred, and Baal demons of Destruction. Hence each Prime has their own domain, and power.

That's true about the Archangels However, I was thinking that if a similar idea is followed with the Archangels, i.e. angels of war, angels of justice, etc., each of these 5 types of angels are all under the 1 "umbrella" of the Council.

Of course all of this is based on the assumption that there are in fact basic demons of terror, angels of war, etc. And I could very well be wrong seeing as how I haven't played Diablo in a LONG time.

The same argument can be applied to the Council.

True. See above for a better explanation. This could be "war of attrition" type of thing and there's a lot more demons. Again I'm just getting started into Diablo so I could be wrong.

Hardly. A vote was held for the future of Sanctuary, which is not exactly an everyday event. Tyrael, so far as we know, hunted down the Prime Evils during the Dark Exile on his own accord.

Would it be safe to assume that most major decisions would have to be a majority vote? Or do only the really REALLY big decisions have to be voted upon? (I"m not being sarcastic or anything, I'm just curious). I did mention that there was a "rogue agent" within the Council so it did make things a little harder for them.

The central question remains though that it would seem the Three at times place absolute trust in each other. For example, why was only Mephisto representing Hell when the future of Sanctuary was decided? The Council was there, and all had a say, but only Mephisto for the Three.

That is something that I can't really think of anything, other than blood is thicker than water. Perhaps there is a true "brotherly love" with the Three and they will forever stand united as long as Heaven exists? And perhaps Mephisto was chosen because he is the eldest, and typically elders are leaders. Again this is something where I'm drawing a blank.

I think Mama and Papa of the Three need to make an appearance :P

I know this is a bit old but I'd like to share my thoughts.

I don't believe that the Three are not infallible, but in reality, there's no need to plot against one another. Each Prime has their own domain, and they have ultimate power within that domain. So why waste resources on one another when there is a common enemy?

Whereas with the Council, 5 Archangels share power within one domain, and in order for anything to be done there has to be majority vote. Made harder by the
fact that one is a neutral party in most instances and another is a rogue most of the time.

I believe it's more of a power issue than being infallible or not

Hey everyone. I'm new to DiabloFans, and Diablo in general, but after watching the intro gameplay video, I was immediately enthralled and thought I would get caught up with everything. So I'm just going to lurk and stuff for a while so don't mind me :)
