While I've always been a die-hard barbarian (just love the barbarian archetype), and after playing a lot of witch doctor, crusader, and demon hunter over the years, I'm just realizing... I have the biggest crush on the female wizard. I've been playing this game for a little over two years, and have "mained" a barbarian for the entire time, but just now I'm finding out that the female wizard may be my favorite class.
Anyone else take a while to find their perfect match? Or was it right out the gate?
I haven't even done the first journey yet. My demon hunter is only level 68. I'm pre-emptively asking this question to make sure I don't screw myself over. So:
If I complete chapter 1 of the season journey as my demon hunter, take the gift, and put it in my stash, I can then open it with my wizard?
So I've gone through this whole season as a demon hunter, but as I approach getting my first set reward, I find that I am not interested in the playstyle of the shadow mantle, and would rather have the firebird's set for my wizard character that I also have going this season. How do I make sure I get the wizards set reward? Do i have to do the final journey requirement on the wizard? Or is is mailed in a cache type box and I can put the box in the stash for the wizard to open it?
Edit: can't change the title, but yes I know it should be "class's" or "class'"
I was an avid WD player before I played Hots, so naturally, I was drawn more to him than the other characters. After playing him to level 9.5, I actually think the Hots team did a better job of capturing the fantasy of playing a withdoctor than D3's team did.
No ridiculous infinite canopic jars
The toads are more reliable in their travel path
Zombie wall was well implemented into D3 as a circle
Spirit is a devastating ability that should be in D3 in some way.
I don't know, WD in D3 just feels like a spammy pet class, while in Hots, it actually feel like his spells pack a punch on a short cooldown. Spiders and toads and spirits are all awesome themes for the class, but spamming them from head-sized canopic jars once a half second out of your pocket or releasing thousands of frogs that don't feel destructive is just... meh.
Made it hard to pick up my D3 witch doctor after playing what he should feel like for so long.
Can't seem to find one on the build section. Anyone have any juicy new sword and board builds thanks to the new way it works or is it still apocalyptically meh?
I don't know if it's just my ocd, but I absolutely go insane if my skills are all different elements (lightning, cold, etc.)
How important is it that my skills have the same magic school? They all seem to synergize really well on the surface, but I don't know how important it is from the point of view of more skilled players than I.
You know, that *one* class that you just can't seem to get to 70. I'm trying to get my first demon hunter to 70 and I'm at 47 and man... this is tough. I don't want all this time playing her to get wasted by dropping ship. Anyone else have a nephalem they can't get to 70?
-The lore and mythology is rich and diverse, taking the cliche angels vs demons and making it much deeper than good vs evil.
-The environments blizzard have created continuously blow me away. I remember stopping in the Tamoe Highlands and just watching the river run by, rain pattering on the dirt, and the sound track carrying me away. I sat there for a few minutes until I realized that it wasn't real life, it happened again in Greyhollow, and more intensely. That zone is gorgeous. Same goes for the other way, in Westmarch, I truly felt the plight of the victims of Malthael.
-Many of the characters are just too damn charismatic to ignore. Haedrig, Lyndon, Covetous Shen.. love them all.
-Build diversity. Yes of course there are the best builds for people who want to do as much progression as possible, but there remains options for both styles of play. Casual players have the freedom to progress at a gentle pace with builds they find fun, while the hardcore players have the tools they need to push as hard and fast as they can through grifts.
-The Nephalem short stories. Have you read any? If you haven't, go read the story for your favorite class. My personal favorites were Barb, Demon Hunter, and Crusader. Emotionally gripping stories.
-Lastly, "infinite progression" assures me I'll never run out of Diablo 3. I can go check out other games and finish them in a week or two, but Diablo will always be waiting for me with just as much to do as when I left it.

And man, this is exciting. It's funny because it feels like RoS launch all over again xD Is this the hype I've been missing out on all this time?
