This is not a an easy question to answer.
Your eyes will acumulate light, even if it projects at a 1 000 000th of a second.
That is your eyes. Your brain does not recognise these "insignificant" signals.
It probably owns the potential to do that - your brain is a very powerful processing
unit - but in the real arena of living, the average human (your brain) processes
more or less 22 frames per second.
What makes it difficult to answer, especially in what i believe is your context, is that during a game of Far Cry a flash from a bomb that last a 100th of a second is something that you WILL notice, true, but at a rate of 25 fps your game will appear smooth.
So the next time someone is bugging you because your ATI Radeon HD 2600XT's 45 fps in doesnt match their Nvidia GeForce 8600 GTS' 62 fps, you can tell them to go piss in the ocean and see if it makes a difference.

Sorry if this is a stupid question,i stumbled in here late:
is the voting thing finished now?
Going through everyone's ratings of chars was the most awesome thing i
ever experienced on a forum. My eyes are burning from squinting.

There's one guy i didn't see here, but i can't recall his name.
He was similar to Kaa the ancient. Also an emaciated mummy from that act, but he wasn't purple.
Also i think his name started with an R.

I saw Avatar this weekend and thought it took 3d modeling to a new level.
This, along with District 9 was my favourite movies of the last 3 years.

Thanks guys. It's nice to step into an active forum. Sometimes they can really dry up.
If ever there was a competition for Best Signature on the web (there probably is), i would start nominating people in this forum. ;)

Wow. I can't believe you actually have an interview with the answer thanks! Well i hope Brower can immerse us with the same feeling and emotion that made up such an important part of the shopping experience in Tristram!
I remember reading an interview with him a long time ago where he detailed some of his work and research, including a description of a bird-shaped clay flute he found somewhere and used in the track "Rogue" in Diablo 2, because it's sound made him think of the timesetting in which Diablo took place.
And Kurast's inhabitants whispering in their native tongue during certain parts in the track.
If you have it go listen!

    Hello

I've been wondering(which is how i found this site) why Matt Uelmen isn't involved in the sound design/music writing for the coming Diablo 3 sound track and the game in general.
Is he busy with something else right now?
This is really disappointing as I became fond of his tracks and figured that the only way I will get by more of his music, particularly written for the settings on Sanctuary, is by waiting it out until D3.

Now that the big day is looming they got a new guy!
