So post more of the story, I have no problem being proven wrong. I would go back to which part I was referring to, however you erased it.
Juicybones originally tried to give you advice, "well, it sounds more like flaming to me" was your reply. Just an example how poorly you take suggestions or criticizm.
I just feel that anyone here could sit down, start writing a fantasy based story, and come up with something just as good. If you know it would be torn to shreds in the professonal world WTF IS SO GOD DAMN OFFENSIVE ABOUT WHAT I SAID? Yes carlo, it would be torn to shreds, shitted on, used for recycled paper so kindegarteners can color on. At age 17 NO ONE EXPECTS YOU TO WRITE PERFECTLY.
You posted it on the forum so people COULD READ IT AND VOICE THEIR OPINION. That's exactly what I just did, if you need to go buy a box of tissues and contemplate suicide because OH DEAR GOD someone thought it was just "OK", be my guest.
Stop using the word "FLAMING", typing it isn't going to make your writing -more- creative.

Dec 8, 2006Posted in: General Discussion (non-Diablo)Quote from "juicy_bones" »Carloseus, i liked reading your story. and from the looks of it so did alot of other people. there was like 10 compliments before wootstick. that means your story was 10/11! there are always going to be obnoxious flamers and you just have to deal with them. whether or not you end up posting your story on the internet, know that your intro was well written and you should continue to write it.
How ignorant of you. Nothing I said could even be considered a flame. I rarely ever see any degrade someones art on a forum. Even the shittiest of the shittest. People still pointed out things they liked about it. Carlo you obviously can't take opinions very well, perhaps it's just a immaturity issue.
Yes, as someone pointed out, the only opinion that really matters is your own. Since you posted it on a public forum I assumed you wanted all the diablo3 lovers to gather around and compliment you left and right. Well sorry to tell you, someone might find not appreciate it 100%. So far you've had two people you felt were cricizing your work, both times you raged back out completely immaturely.
All I'm saying is it's a nice little read for a couple pages, you would be great at short stories im sure. If you reach more than 20 pages I think you would have a problem trying to keep the reader engaged.
btw- I actually felt diablo2 was incredibly complex and creative. Just an opinion though.
Dec 7, 2006Constructive criticism is just meant to help, not abolish your self-esteem. You obviously have the ability to write, and give the reader an image. If you wanted to write a story on such a large scope, in my opinion, just need to work on the -creativity- factor. As phrozen pointed out, if writing that kind of conceptual story intrigues you, then write about whatever inspires you. I didn't write a New York's Best Seller so my opinion isn't set in stone. Just as a reader, who read your story so far, just felt a few things needed to be worked on if you wanted to take your story writing to a higher level.Posted in: General Discussion (non-Diablo)
PhrozenDragon - Well said.
Dec 7, 2006Do you guys realize that buying a blu-ray dvd player alone costs $800? Sony provides a dozen other attractive features for a whopping $500-$600. To fully utilize the graphics on the ps3 you'll have to buy a tv capable of 1080p, which I have. When blu-ray dvd's and 1080p's get rolling in a couple years you'll be thankful you invested in a CHEAP playstation3.Posted in: General Discussion (non-Diablo)
WII is good if you enjoy pratically gamecube graphics and all of the cute Mario games.
Dec 7, 2006The whole idea seems a bit cliche. Little to no creativity in my opinion. Nice imagery in the introduction. Introductions have to be catchy though, after your paragraph about the bees observing the land and what not, then the interesting radar flatlines. Then you describe a really cliche world with the regions etc etc. Nintendo rpgs contained that kind of stuff 15 years ago.Posted in: General Discussion (non-Diablo)
Examples: R.A. Salvatore in the dark elf trilogy describes a underground world where the women are the dominate ones. There is a heirarchy of ranks among all of the dark elves, etc etc. CATCHY.
Orson Scott Card in Ender's Shadow starts with a homeless child, who's brilliant, he creates a brilliant introduction with the kid analyzing the ranking structure of all the other homeless group of kids, through wit manipulates the situation allowing him eat and survive. CATCHY.
Some sentences I felt were a bit over the edge, I'm much too lazy to point them out. If you care to hear which parts I suppose I could.
Anyone can throw descriptive words left and right hoping to accomplish forming a picture with depth to it. I think real writing comes in creativity, there honestly isn't alot of it here.

A daughter goes to her fathers funeral and meets this guy. This guy is incredible, she instantly falls in love with him. When they parted she realized she never got his address or number. She murders her sister the next day. What was her motive?
Dec 3, 2006w000tstick posted a message on WHAT game should we play until diablo 3 ccomes out?I went on like a 3 month "FREE MMORPG" search a while back. None of them could compare to blizzard games though. Just to list off a few of them -Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
anything from www.gamengame.com
Errr I forgot the rest. Was just trying to pass the time, I sort of miss that old addiction I had to diablo2. I tried out WoW til about level 40 and got so tired of how repetitious it was. Then I tried Guild Wars - unfortunately at the time I had a bad impression of the game because of my dial up connection speed - my 256mb of ram - 1.8 proccesor speed.
I just waste time on starcraft now.
Dec 1, 2006The only hole that Elfen pointed out yet that I'm not aware of is, Why is www.diablo3.com a fan site? Was this domain purchased instantly after diablo2 came out? Has blizzard attempted to get it? Those I wont argue with.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

The day this game comes out is the day my life begins and ends! Literally
Diablo 2 was just so addicting..
I'd still be playing today had Blizzard not closed my 5+year account for a very very very poor reason (don't ask)
( I was honestly thinking of taking them to court for destroying my life that day) here it is over 2 years later and I still miss my d2 account more than my dead dog that just died 4 months ago...seriously... DOES ANY1 FIND THAT CREEPY OR IS THIS FRANCHISE JUST FRIGGEN SICK!
Diablo3 Better live up to the hype.. I need that feeling back.. DONT SCREW ME BLIZZ. ps. online poker is full of colluding vampires, donkies, rookies and Bullshiot!
The interesting thing about your posts is that you're convinced that people are actually interested in how much time and effort you've put into the game. I think we can all agree the words "who cares" comes to mind when reading this.

I never cheated, only used a maphack. I watched poeple hack others account's, steal their items, dupe them...NO PUNSIHMENT.I Built my account up from 1.07. I had E bugged coh, several lev 90+ chars, perfect griffons,413%ebotd zerk's things that made other people druel on the screen... I remember 1.09 when everything was all hex's.. which i had over 200 of both kind! Then 1.10 hit and I lost alomst everyting, ( a raven spiral and a soj) to which I built my godly chars. This was a game that I LOVED playing and did so for about 4 years. ( u might remember my chars US-WEST "dub-Lucifer" "Tony-Montana" I had so many items in 1.11 that were not possible to have unless you were a GOD! I honestly could have sold my d2 LOD account to some nerd for hundreds of dollars... seriously, I had even just beaten the UBER clones by myself and got my Barb torch ( which was -----insanly---- hard ) sickening how much of my life I had invested into this game... Maybe it's a good thing they closed my account, I can actually go out and live life again I cant w8 for D3 tho..! lol
I just wasted a minute of my life reading this. What does this teach you? Don't use maphack? Good.

Dec 18, 2009Posted in: NewsQuote from "hyde" »Have you all seen the post "Y'all best be trollin'"?? That guy completely destroys the patch, and Bashiok does agree with him. Its in the latest blue-tracker, i suggest y'all have a gander
Bashiok responds with "I hear ya". That's just his way of saying he acknowledges the opinion, not that he's in agreeance. I believe you misinterpreted it.
The patch definitely doesn't meet my expectations. I didn't even have that high of expectations. I was hoping for more balancing of the characters. Though, Respec'ing adds quite a bit of game play variety. Now you can splurge your points into low level skills instead of strategizing your skill tree for the later levels. The first 30 levels should be more interesting.
Still not enough changes to get me playing again.
Jul 30, 2008Posted in: NewsQuote from "USNSEALs" »Whoa, Equinox... lot of hostility from you lately and short answers.
What happened to the Equinox I originally saw post?
OK, 1200 was all the bills + ISP. Whoa, buddy... 1200 for ISP?
I come from Chicago - the neighborhood I grew up in you ate every few days, and it wasn't something enjoyable either. $400 goes a long ass way for 4 people.
1,600 between 4 = 400 = 240 left for each person at the end of every month
Not bad when you're 16
Put %ages in if you want. I'm not on CNN in a life or death argument.
Either way, we were saving a nice amount of money for 20 hour work weeks doing retail.
Quote from "USNSEALs" »ISP costing 1200
I figured that was insanely high. Then I thought, well I don't know his age, so maybe that pricing was a decade ago when internet wasn't as accessible. It makes more sense now.
I don't really believe the eat every few days, oh well. I know the exact amount isn't really important. Though, you're still not calculating taxes. As that immediately steals %20 of your gross. Which actually places your combined profits of $2080. Whatever though. I believe you had some spare change.
Jul 30, 2008Posted in: NewsQuote from "Equinox" »How bad or not the lag is subjective, but I always hear Hardcore players saying that surviving the lag is a part of Hardcore. If lag is so bad that it affects Hardcore gameplay, there is a problem, and it also accepts the majority of players.
Another example is StarCraft. It lags in a different way, it doesn't "black out" like Diablo does, leaving you totally clueless of what's going on. Or make it so that you have to wait 5 minutes before selling something. And that's in solo multiplayer games.
I played Lan Diablo II games, the lag is nowhere near as comparable. It's not me, it's the server. I don't know where it comes from or why people get it or not get it, but it's there, and, because of it, you cannot say that SP DII = MP DII in a private game.
OT: and why did you stop replying to my PM's?
Well as I stated before, maybe things have changed dramatically in the last year. I've never had such issues. I could see hardcore being a problem, for there are problems where the lag could potentially kill you. I guess I didn't think of it from a HC aspect. The laggiest part in the game is with Baal's minions from what I remember.
OT (what's OT?) Sorry, I will get right on the PMs. It just takes so much concetration for me to type e-mails or PMs to people. I sort of stress myself out typing them. You know me, always trying to figure out what to say. Expect 8 pages tomorrow
Jul 30, 2008Posted in: NewsQuote from "USNSEALs" »Vladdracul, what's 640 x 4?
You still don't add up very well.
$400 on food for 4 people? I highly highly doubt everyone lived off of $3.33 for food everyday.
X 4 weeks in a month
%20 in taxes
$520 that you earn in 30 days.
300 for ISP(1,200/4)
+150 AT least for food
$520 your earnings
-450 your costs
70$ left over not including any of your rent/utilities/extra activities?
Still doesn't add up very well. You spend more than you earn. I'm not sure where your math is.
Quote from "Equinox" »Can we please cut it out with this idiocy?
The lag is Bnet-based. It's Blizzard's Lag. It's the server lag. IT'S NOT THE GODDAMN ISP ALREADY.
I havn't played Diablo II for several months. I don't remember there being much lag, if any. That was just from my experience. Maybe they've lessened their support for the game. The way you talk about the lag though, it sounds like it's much more of a burden for you than most people. Maybe you should be a little more acceptive of the possibility that it's a network thing on your side. I think that's a reasonable thing to suggest.

I cant believe, and am quite impressed truthfully, that blizzard still pays for WC, SC, and D2 servers to operate when those games havent delivered any real revenue in years.
You do realize Diablo II and Starcraft are still one of the top selling retail games? That is REAL revenue. As of Jan 2006 Starcraft is the #3rd best selling PC game EVER selling 8 million units. As of May 2007, Starcraft has sold 9.5 million copies globally. That's 1.5 million units sold in a year and a half or so. So.. yeah.. wrong. Sources:
For me, multiplayer is one of the most addictive aspects of Diablo II. If I actually look at the game as a whole, it's really not that great of a game. It's a very simplistic limited experience. Multiplayer opens up an entire realm of possibilities. Co-Op is one of the only things that has kept me playing Diablo II for as long as I did. Single player would bore the hell out of me. The length of the game is very very short.
Jul 30, 2008I'm sort of confused about the relationship between the question and the response. Araya was discussing the flaws of multiplayer and the quests. The creator of a game limiting the joiners experience by doing the quests. Bashiok sort of went in a different direction.Posted in: News
Edit: I guess more that I read it the more I see the relevance. I just originally interpreted it as a online quest question, than asking about the appeal of battle.net.
Jul 29, 2008The very first game I've ever seen introduce these wounded states was Final Fantasy Mystic Quest for the SNES. Ever since then I've always really liked the idea. Once you got them down to a certain health, they'd have bandages and scratches all over their face. It's an interesting concept. I'm really curious to see how it plays out. I could see it being really immersing.Posted in: News
Jul 22, 2008A bit of a flamer aren't you. You could have argued about the pre-order, instead you chose to flame me with empty irrelevant insults. That sort of concludes this little conversation. Jul 22, 2008Posted in: NewsQuote from "Dimebog" »Can you be any more immature. You make the WoW community look like a summit of intellectuals in comparison.
You know, just because you didn't have the money to pay for the subscription and switched to D2 instead because it was free doesn't mean that you are a 'fan' in the true sense of the word. And you are one of those, I can tell it from here.
Would you like to post your receipt of the pre-order? You're welcome to mspaint and cross out any personal information. That's what I thought. What I said was correct, you didn't preorder the game. You're just another e-kid with an obsession to lie frequently.
You didn't preorder a game a year or more in advance. That'd be just stupid. And if you want to defend something stupid, go for it. What is this nonsense about WoW you keep spewing. That's a completely irrelevant flame. I'm calling you out on a lie. You're lying. Get it? Got it? Good.

I slightly agree. I don't think it's necessary to try and demean any of the administration. These are people who've invested alot of time and effort to keep this website alive. I think it's extremely cowardly for a 1 poster to jump in, throw some insults at the admins, and leave. It just proves how masked the internet world is, very little integrity these kids have. Don't lose focus on what people are complaining about. It's disappointment in the announcement, it has very little to do with administration. So you can't defend point A by an irrelevant point B.Quote from "Blaten13" »i like how the majority of the people that are bitching are the just registered people.
