Quote fromHave you all seen the post "Y'all best be trollin'"?? That guy completely destroys the patch, and Bashiok does agree with him. Its in the latest blue-tracker, i suggest y'all have a gander
Bashiok responds with "I hear ya". That's just his way of saying he acknowledges the opinion, not that he's in agreeance. I believe you misinterpreted it.
The patch definitely doesn't meet my expectations. I didn't even have that high of expectations. I was hoping for more balancing of the characters. Though, Respec'ing adds quite a bit of game play variety. Now you can splurge your points into low level skills instead of strategizing your skill tree for the later levels. The first 30 levels should be more interesting.
Still not enough changes to get me playing again.

Not really. He's actually quite serious about it. Hence why he asked for my opinion of it.
I can tell.

So I'll just sort of talk about the really unappealing parts to me. Don't take me too serious, as I am not a professional writer. Nor do I have the mental capacity to create something engaging. It's much easier to judge then to do it. I don't like how you made three seperate paragraphs/sentences to explain the same thing over and over.
It goes like this:
Diablo made a cloud....
Next Sentence
Then, Mephisto made a cloud JUST LIKE DIABLO. Weird...
Next Sentence
Then, Baal made a cloud just like Diablo and Meph.
Comment:You see how lame and recycled this idea is? You should merge the ideas all into a single paragraph. Not one after the other, after the other. Get descriptive about the process of making the clouds, and then state how each cloud originated from a seperate entity. I just don't like the whole. This made a cloud. Then this made a cloud like it. Then this made a cloud like it TOO. Get my drift?
You have:
Mephisto said
Diablo said
Baal said
Don't forget about the terms: replied, responded, stated, whispered, questioned, asked. I think they're called adverbs(maybe, not sure?) I also notice your writing is pretty cheesy. It's like something that came out of a nintendo RPG.Sort of reminds me of SICK.
You have:
Cheesy line. Mephisto and baal step in a portal. Diablo sent a shockwave at another cheesy sentence. Boring sentence.
You have absolutely no descriptive skills. All of your sentences are based off of actions. Those are only good for comic strips. Since you're trying to describe things, start describing things.
Example: Diablo's senses heightened as a noise rustled behind him. He twisted his body as his tail whipped around lashingly. The Son of Inarius was coming in for surprise. Diablo, without hesitation, responded with a blast of luminescent force that radiated from his body. Son of Inarius was quick to act, dashing into a portal before impact.
Now this is just something I threw together. I am in no way a great writer. I'm simply just trying to prove that you really want to make it more descriptive. I just personally feel you jump around too much.
I like the "Belial's tone turned into mocking". I think you have a difficult time with dialogue. You're just trying to push the story along. All of your dialogue is too cheesy and cliche.
Wait, why was Diablo doing that? To show off? Modest much?
Now I really enjoyed the last half of your story. I like how you implemented each cloud in order to represent the stages of chaos. You went from terror, to hate, to destruction. Actually a cool little idea. No real complaints at the end. Just your english at times could be a bit more polished.
Anyways, that's my opinion. I didn't comment on every sentences cuz well, thatd take me forever.

Uh, he never said that. His point was that it's important to build a strong base for the guild. When diablo 3 comes out, SICK will have a difficult time establishing itself if it's stale and unexistent. If it establishes itself in Diablo2, then the conversion will be more successful. He's talking about planning SICKS success by progression. NOTHING TO DO WITH BAAL RUNS.
Actually he made a bad point. Well I think this thread has motivated Elfen, Silver, Ferret, and Thasa to discuss it more. So I'd expect somethings turning soon.

God dude, stop it. There’s no need to add that cheesy junk to this discussion. I normally completely stay out of the SICK discussions, as I am not in it. Then I think, why aren’t I in SICK. Isn’t my opinion of the guild equally useful as anyone else’s?
One thing I noticed about SICK, and pretty much the forum in general, is no one ever demotes the useless people. You can’t build a ranking system and have it completely ineffective. Ferret preferably should completely take control since he is one of the most dedicated Diablo players. No one likes a useless leader. Just like no one likes useless admin. The organized, dedicated, articulate members need to be the higher-ups.
Elfen made another good point. Someone needs to put their foot down and say, “this is how it’s going to be, if you don’t like it, you’re out of clan”. Look at the patterns of most other guilds or clans, they have a “you must log in every 7 days to remain an active(LOG IN TO DIABLO 2 NOT THIS FORUM) member”. Something like that needs to be established. There are too many useless kiddies who are like COOOL GUILD!!!! Then invest little to no time into the guild. Get rid of them, today. Looking over the member sheet:
When is the last time anyone has seen these members contribute to the guild?
Abimael
Ajax
Ba3kb0y
BaneofEvil
Blades11
Carloseus
Christ
Diablo Fenatic
Death Sinner
Ghostz
Jeru5
Lestater
Maverek
Mighty Crimsonskull
MijnWraak
Miss Insanity
Num3n
Shadows Wake
Thirdgradeninja
Zetiam
If you havn’t in the last month. Get them off the list.
You need to recruit. God, recruit. ACTUALLY recruit people. All of your members are ones that just so happen to trip over it in the forums. There is another clan I’m aware of that says “Each Officer must recruit at least 1 individual by this date: X/X/XXXX or you will be demoted”. Things like this need to be pushed. Everyone needs to contribute. Delegation is the key. Everyone sits here and blabs about the philosophies of a good guild. Stop talking about it, and start doing it. Stop whining about ineffectiveness and inactiveness of a clan for months and months. Stop being lazy and go get it fixed. I guarantee if you had an effective recruitment system, you could have 3 new members by the time the day is over. No, you’d rather act all angst and dramatize about it in the forum.
This is mainly a discussion on Diablo, and I sort of wandered off into politics of the guild. Diablo is an RPG game. You can’t use basic guild mechanics to entice people into joining. You have to prove it’s an RPG guild worth investing into. You need to create a SICK community, think of something fun. Do some competitions.
Example: 8 P.M. Eastern time July 22nd 2008, you must start a new character in hardcore mode. The first person to complete act 1 with no assistance, and no transferred equipment, gets titans.
Example: 8.P.M. Eastern time Aug 27th, you will have two teams of 3 people. The first team to have all of their members reach level 30 receives 1 HR each.
Always have someone available to rush members. Have someone available to rush someone in hell. Who in this guild has a char in soft-core that can rush in hell? Things need to be more accessible in the clan.
Why is the admission requirements tied to this forum? That’s stupid. You have to have 100 posts in the forum before even being considered as a Guild member. That’s a horrible, horrible idea. I agree with the rest of these posts. Completely rewrite that admission thread, it’s rather stupid to have such requirements. Don’t even tie it to the forum.
But, whoa did I go on and on. So to the original post of make Ferret in command of the Diablo section of the Guild. Just from my own observation, I’d say that would be a great idea.

I’m going to give a brief tutorial on Emulators, ROMs, and hooking up your Xbox controller to your computer to play these games like they should be played, with a controller.
Let me explain what an emulator is. An emulator is virtual software on your computer to make your computer actually think it’s has the hardware capabilities to play a console game. You can download the good ol Super Mario’s from Super Nintendo and play them from your machine. These are freely downloadable programs that are pretty accessible across the internet.
http://www.emulator-zone.com/
Here is a good site to pretty much get any emulator you want. I want to note one thing, if you want to have online functionality, the newer versions of ZSNES do not support that. You must download an older version.
So go to: http://www.zsnes.com/
Go to Files, then click on either 1.42 or 1.36, or even both of them.
ROMs(Read Only Memory) are the games for the consoles. ROMs are pretty much just image files that the emulators can run and manage. So for ex: Zsnes would be a Super Nintendo emulator, Donkey Kong Country would be the rom.
ROMs are a bit tougher to find. The sites are usually filled with ads, dead links, and fake directories. I personally download all of my roms through torrent search engines, as they are almost always legit. If you type in SNES roms in www.btjunkie.com for instance, it will give you a torrent with every snes game ever made. The files are only about 1-3MB, so it doesn’t take long.
http://www.romnation.net
Romnation is a good site for ROMs. There are several titles that are unavailable due to ESA regulations. Otherwise it’s pretty solid to get your roms.
The best software to date is the Zbattle software. This is located at www.zbattle.net. It does require some configuration with your firewall to allow some ports through and forwarded. All of that information is on the sites FAQ. Once you’re online using the ZBattle software, it’s important to know that in order to play co-op someone; you must have the same version of Zsnes. This is why I recommended 1.36 or 1.42 for these are the most played versions.
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/download/download.aspx?category=Gaming
You need this software. Once it is installed you just plug in your xbox controller, your computer should immediately read it. Once it’s installed you’ll have to change settings on your emulator to accept the controller.
So far I’ve been playing a lot of Paper Mario for N64, Secret of Mana for Snes, and Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time for N64. It’d be cool if someone would do some online games with me though.
Note: I did ask a moderator if I could open this topic.
