I thought CHD was a range, there you go. I guess then the only variation is from my actual damage. Also good to know how non-crit skills actually interact with CHC and CHD.

Damage is good with BP if you can get that uptime because you can stack extra mainstat (especially on amulet). I'm not sure if stacking min-max damage, attack speed or mainstat would be best but I just use mainstat for the extra defense.

My Monk can crit on average for 5b with Deadly Reach (2pc Raiment, DD, Shenlongs) which decimates enemies around GR60 when numbers are yellow. But when there's too many mobs BP just will not proc and I end up having to run away to space out enemies, which is terribly counter productive.

Sweeping Wind helps me get some uptime but it takes up a skill slot which is rough. I've tried replacing the spender and not using F&R but the damage was noticably lower. My next attempt will be something that can run without CDR as that frees up more stats on gear and a skill slot in place of Epiphany. Though not using Epiphany is very hard, being at GR60+ without Unity is already scary enough as it is.

Enough about my build though, im hoping that after 2.4 we'll be able to try out a few more builds with BP. I'm already planning a Sleet Storm wizard and that rune seems to play friendly enough with BP, so it may be worth investigating. The new Sweeping Wind monk seems like it could work with it too seeing how SW procs BP quite well. Anyone tried BP with Whirlwind Barb yet??

I'm totally not trying to m2+potato = you. Just trying to get the idea behind BP effectiveness. Lets say I got 2.00 to attack speed and 50% CHC. In theory would you not crit once per attack? two attack with 50% chance would/should be 1 crit. Why is this more effective than simply trying to crit once per attack? Someone mentioned a huge dps gain from BP crit. Why? Does it rng to max chd or something? IIRC this maybe old data, doesn't chd rng from 1-X, X being your cap on chd? So one crit from BP could actually be pretty weak compared to more crits which would give a higher chance at a big chd? Not to mention it could happen once per attack instead of once per five?

What am I looking at wrong? I too looked at BP and my mind started pondering ideas, after some thought the above was my conclusion. What am I missing?

For a lot of builds its not worth it but imagine having a bunch of DOTs stacked on an enemy that are critting every single tic. Or a meteor shower with a 100% crit chance. Like I said this ring needs to be built around, you can't just throw it on your favourite build and expect to work

I think a firebird's set may be in order. Then i can use snapshotted hydra and F&R

I thought that the firebird's DoT changed dynamically based upon the buffs in effect. Is that wrong?
Would be effective to snapshot Hydra though.
Wouldn't that be a good thing then? I've heard many people say Apocalypse can't proc BP but that is utterly wrong, though it is not efficient at doing so. For a successful BP build in my opinion you need a skill to efficiently proc it, and the rest of your skills not to fuck it up.
    Did some WD tests.
Corpse Spiders:Insane uptime on BP ring. After a lot of jar throwing it can interrupt the "no-crit" streak though. Probably still the best skill I've found for it though as 1 jar can trigger 100chc
Grin reaper: clones can proc bp. This I think is an important find, as especially for pet builds you can dodge and let your clones proc the ring. Mine were using corpse spiders, so much yellow numbers.
Firebats-Hungry Bats : this works well because it's 1 bat per enemy with no aoe. That said its a bad skill because of those facts but seems like a very efficient BP enabler, this + corpse spiders + grin reaper gave me a nice uptime on BP ring
Trying to put together a proper build to test so I've left out a lot of spells. I'll get around to trying some different builds when I'm not getting 1-hitted

I like the idea of arachyr because you can stack life and 4pc gives %life healing. My wiz is at 1mil life which is bad in a long fight, 40k lph + 40k lps and it still takes ages to heal. Iv cleared gr50 so far, with almost all ancient gear i feel im losing dps with bp. Might have to test a diferent build, but 8 attleast found a decent non Bp build lol. I should mention im on console with like 10k of each mat so its quite easy to test these setups. Which is all i do considering im not farming. My HC account is what i use for real play

More cdr? Lol. So what do you do, punch a mob til you see yellow and tap SSS? You should try turning off damage numbers altogether and just playing the build, see if it improves your time. My build may work differently but keeping track of bp only slows me down

I've been rolling with U6+BP monk this season. At first I like it but eventually I came to realize that the 5% base CHC really annoys me. I simply crit way to much for BP to be reliable, which is sad because it's a really cool item. It's a very frustrating item as well with the baseline crit^^

Isn't this the best solo monk build though? I can only imagine though how painful it would be to use WotHF with BP. From what I've read SSS is actually amazing for proccing BP but I haven't tested it myself

Ok, I just ran some tests on my WD.

    1) Zunimassa fetish build, no CHC on gear (5% base) BP equipped -> it proccs, but ONLY from my own skills (darts). fetish hits do not count as far as I can see

    2) Helltooth zombie bears build, no CHC on gear (5% base) BP equipped -> it proccs but as I spam blazing spiders, i can not obtain constant uptime. also fire wall seems to crit independently. feels even less playable than Zuni-Fetish version.

Might try out some freaky setups later this evening. Will keep you posted if you want so :)

Unfortunate, but good to know. I guess the ring does call for some freaky setups, I wonder if the 2pc Arachyr spider can proc it, since I believe it doesn't get a pet damage bonus (could be wrong) therefore might not obey the ”no pet proc" rule. Obviously this wouldn't be viable regardless until toad is fixed in 2.4, unless you only used 2pc lol.
Its weird though, I imagined spiders giving instantaneous proc since there's so many little hits. I've found that while some skills are great for bp, as soon as you try to add another spell into the mix it can wreck the process. I guess it about finding the balance or running a "freaky" build.
On that note I've had some more success with dal rasha setup. Piercing Orb seems to work well and im now using Familiar - Cannoneer which seems to proc twice as fast as I guess its an additional hit. It also gives me a reliable source of arcane damage so I don't have to teleport - calamity into packs and its just generally better for added COE damage. I tried triumvirate with frozen orb which again was nice when it worked but it wasn't very often. I'm now using blizzard - FS which procs quite well alongside Bubble and adds more cc which I sorely needed. That leaves bubble as fire damage which I must say is very useful with a molten impact meteor in the middle of it.
I'm getting the feeling that bubble snapshots my CHC but it may just be BP and COE rotating, its hard to keep track of all the stacks and buffs on this one. Need to do some controlled testing without COE.
I still want to try a pure Delsere build because I'm keen to run Focus & Restraint with BP in cube. I may create a WD though to test, I'm very curious about his interactions, and if you could find a way to give a reliable uptime on BP you could get some insane pet damage, that is assuming that pets don't reset the no-crit stack

Ive read mixed answers when it comes to Fetishes proccing bp, that would probably be the most important one I could think of.

I've started playing a Dal Rasha BP and its a bit underwhelming. Meteor shower ± living lightning + time bubble gets a fairly decent crit ratio but it's too unpredictable for meteor drops if they don't crit. I think pure delsere’s would be better especially after 2.4

Folloers should have most of the gear slots, so we can use more gems on them, and even augment there gear too. Plus sets would allow for things to mix up combos with the class ur playing and the follow u pick.

BUT! I would like to add Followers need to be account wide so we only have to gear the 3 once, rather then gear them for ever new char we play, just is a pain in the ass and boring and un-fun play style.

While I can see the logic here, some classes will use a follower differently than others, for example some classes may not use unity and one may prefer a thunder fury over an azurewrath
