Edit: Probably important to note that I'm bias, as I have a large portion of my gym workouts devoted to working the core
Well Mr PhD Sir, I was kinda hoping for an unbiased perspective. I appreciate the input nonetheless.

It's still the shit here in the UK but was wondering if any new research has come up around it questioning the validity or evidence behind.

Hmm...the last time i turned down a girl, she went and told all her friends I was gay.
My girlfriend found it hilarious. I thought it was too until a guy asked me out. He was so awfully direct about it- guess he meant business.
In other news, 9 days to go.
In other other news, I came back from an awesome fishing trip today. Need more of those.
May 4, 2012Na am not calculative at all in social circles...Posted in: Off-Topic
Don't they fall into the category of hypocrites? Say you don't like a person but maintain a relatively good and 'forced' relationship so you can have better networking. I am incapable of that.
I will make an effort though if a person X is fairly neutral in my bingo book. To extend the courtesy mostly. Going for games or any other entertainment after an invitation just seems a bit too selfish to me.
These pursuits can be easily satisfied any other time.
So do i end up being classified as calculative but with good intentions? Hmm...
I think it may be ingrained behavior as social animals. We build and set up parameters in order to justify behavior with greater benefits somehow.
May 4, 2012So peeps, what do you think about this one:Posted in: Off-Topic
This one's funny though because she gets a reaction
I've often wondered at that escape goat attitude...It's kind of depressing.
May 4, 2012Oh you edited your post.Posted in: Off-Topic
In reply to this-
Quit trying to be smart, you fail in pathetic manner.
A cool guy is also a popular guy. So you are knocking at the wrong door here. I don't clamor to popular appeal.
And what's with the dictionary part? Did i write something complicated?
But then again, if your avy is gooby, i can understand how many of the words I am using seem complicated.
Finally if you can't add to the topic, piss off. This is the URT. I don't complain about your retarded gooby speech. So have some consideration on your side now.

What's truly absurd is how focused you are on this part when it's almost entirely irrelevant to the core of the discussion.
You always say the most ironic things. Grapsing at straws. Please. You know as well as I that lightly defending someone doesn't constitute having your "panties in a mix." That's completely absurd.
This is what is called grasping at straws.
I never said you were lying. Reading and understanding anything that comes as criticism on the way you 'debate' seems to be very difficult for you.
Intellectual dishonesty is not synonymous to lying if that's where you are getting your cue from. It's about grasping at straws.
I'm sorry but that is just plain hypocrisy and trying your best to skirt away from a simple question on appearance appeal.
I am going to assume that it is the section about not being able to rate her, and seeing beauty in generaly health and hapiness. If so, I think it's very funny that you would go on and on about how hurtful beauty ideals are, and then accuse someone of lying if they don't hold anyone to a particular standard, as though it's not possible to do. It seems somewhwat duplicious. Some people are more striking than others, often for reasons you can't see in a flat image. But most of it is fairly complex, and it's definitely not something I'd bother to quantify on a 10 point scale. Sorry if that concept is hard for you to grasp.
Some people are more striking than others often for reasons you can't see in a flat image? I am not saying to rate her on personality or social/oratory skills/achievement. But merely on the image.
For it is my assumption that is precisely people who are seeing actual faults in her (appearance) that don't find this funny- Trombone just demonstrated it by mentioning vagina necks. I don't find this a fault...at all.
Also visual analogue scales have good enough sensitivity and reliability in terms of characteristics(appearance here) that cannot be directly measured which is why it was chosen.
However if you can explain exactly WHAT is fairly complex(on judging appearance alone subjectively), I might consider a different form of evaluation that is more 'fair'. The scale is meant to take into account all your preconceived notions ideas/experiences and is subjective.
Is that too hard for you to grasp?
Certainly, as a person who has strategically decided to put emphasis on a certain part of their body for their photo that has been devoted a thread, you must be aware at least on a subconscious level of the power of visual appraisal.
In any case, all the famous people/fashion magazine do consciously know of it even though you want to make it a complex issue which it is obviously not.
Also, you can play the mature card all you want but being a girl showing off her chest on an internet forum to gather attention hardly qualifies you for it. On top of 'going down to my obnoxious level'. Oh my....
That's why i said you were boring and lacked intellectual integrity and honesty.
@Trombone- I understand the situation quite well.
You are making an assumption on the insecurity of some people while I on the vanity of same people.
There's a fine line that is crossed which tips the scale between needing to be 'beautiful' and understanding that you realistically can't and you best get used to it.
May 3, 2012Posted in: Off-Topic
I have poor analytical skills? That seems somewhat presumptuos doesn't it? "Panties in a mix" suggests a level of agitation. No one seemed agitated... until perhaps now. People were defending her, and questioning the meme, but in a very casual way, that didn't rise to any definiton of getting your panties in a mix.
Actually, coming into a situation where no one is upset, and telling everyone their panties in a mix, feels a bit like you are trying to agitate people. Feels a bit trollish actually.
As for rating the girl, I really can't. I think there are infinite kinds of beauty. If someone takes care of themselves, looks happy, keeps a healthy weight and exercies enough to stay a bit toned, that's beauty to me. I'm insecure in ways and pretty hard on myself, but I've got very easy standards for the rest of the world. LOL!
Lack of intellectual integrity and honesty to top it all.
I never knew you managed to get an oxford definition of panties in a mix. You seem to be an expert at grasping at straws.
Bleh. You are boring beyond measure.
May 3, 2012I'll just leave this here then.Posted in: Off-Topic

That has got to be the stupidest thing I've heard all year.
Wow. The short-sightedness of that astoundingly moronic statement is overwhelming.
I've been sitting here for 2 minutes trying to think, if Blizzard generated infinite money from an item-selling store, what could they *possibly* do to make Diablo 3 better? Nothing. Can you think of anything?
A item-selling store will utterly destroy the game such that no amount of money can possibly fix it up. It's the point of no return.
Oh the irony.
You accuse someone of short-sightedness when you've shown that you are clearly unable to factor in how more money *can* lead to the improvement of D3?
I am not saying it will but you need to be pretty thick-skulled to be unable to grasp such a simple concept.
But the strongest argument against a vanity store is basic fairness. Vanity stores, and any stores that sell in-game things for money, destroys the integrity of the game. It is fundamentally not fair that after purchasing the game you're not allowed access to all the features of the game, including vanity features.
Fairness? In terms of looks and features that don't influence the killing power of your character? Remind me again why you play diablo? Oh ya, to show everybody you are wearing the coolest armor and weapons. Even if that was your primary reason, is it so difficult to grasp why vanity items will never have the same bragging value as a farmed rare item?
I think this is the strongest piece of evidence that your brain might not be functioning properly. Do you realize this will make the game even more inaccessible? How much can you raise the price to cover what you get through a vanity store?
I would argue that it is better for Blizzard to raise the price of the game than to offer a vanity store, because at least everyone will have the same access to everything in the game.
Only if you have some serious character flaws, will you feel 'forced' to buy vanity items. You are conveniently choosing to ignore all those relevant customization features like runes and thousands of builds available to whine about how you won't be able to wear a magenta-colored headgear unless you shell out a few bucks. It's time you return to our universe because there's some serious problem of tunnel-vision in yours.
Customization is essential in RPGs, which is why it is incredibly unfair to force people to buy these vanity features, if they want them, instead of having these features be part of the game that everyone can access, without additional charge. The fact that customization is such a core component of RPG games only makes vanity stores even more unacceptable.

Glad to see that hope remains.
Some people still have a good thinking process coupled with a mind that opposes an ever growing stupidity brought along by these modern times that we live in.
You again? All your 'contribution' in this thread so far has been about how anybody not having the same opinion as you is stupid. I strongly advise you stop with that bullshit. There are actual valid arguments on both sides- possible advantages and disadvantages.
A stubbornly unilateral approach like yours- with complete disregard and utter contempt for what the other side has to bring- is what constitute the very essence of stupidity.

1. They already have plenty of money to develop new content, stop hiding behind this excuse to justify item stores. Oh wait, maybe they could use that money to develop console versions for the game too, you would like that wouldn't you ?! ...
Well I would like to think that too but the delays on SC2 and D3 were/are probably thanks to WoW. The each have their own dedicated teams true but it is obvious where priorities lie. So while they have resources, these resources are far from unlimited. They make games yes but they do so to get money. Having the biggest margin of profits will dictate how much they are willing to spend in manpower and which project should get the nod.
The lateness of the latest patch for D2 was entirely due to WoW and we can anticipate similar events for D3.
All of that to say that stores as some means of 'constant' revenue for blizzard might ensure more content and on a more regular basis for D3.
Of course, the other side of the coin might be that the stores don't generate enough and what goes in there is basically insufficient to warrant the advantage mentioned above.
So ya, instead of whining because you won't get to wear the magical penis of doom that some other ass bought from a store, you should contemplate the resulting possibility of getting more frequent updates for D3 to enjoy yourself with.
Also, stop menstruating all over the place. You are making a mess. We get it- you are against stores.
With all that said, I am still against stores but even the implementation of the latter won't stop me from enjoying D3.

Some people know nothing but complain, whine, rage, QQ and what not!
Ungrateful bastards you are, shame on you!
You only set yourselves up for disappointment and there is no pleasing you >.<
Lol. Now you are whining, raging, complaining and QQing about people who rage, whine, complain and QQ.
Aren't you the brilliant one?

Yes, i know i popped up from nowhere! <_<
But looking to this picture, i couldn't keep anymore!
Like you care, i just wanna say i didn't like the new look of Tyrael.
Especially in this picture, he looks like Enrique Iglesias with hood!
My thoughts exactly. Especially the hands, sword and wings- these look almost like a complete rip-off of Enrique Iglesias. Even the armor is identical.
I am disappoint, bizz. Very disappoint.
May 22, 2011I won't feel any remorse scamming these people but maybe that's just because I'm a bad person.Posted in: News
I'm on the job right now actually.
Ah...nothing like feasting on the profits from swindling desperate, befuddled maggots. It is both satisfying and an excellent source of easy income.
I encourage everybody to do it at least once.

sorry, that was supposed to sound more sarcastic, i forgot about the limitations of text
I forgive you, son.
I hereby declare that I fully agree with Blizzard's proposed follower system after becoming a member of the Society for the Protection of Gamer Grandmas and Children(PGGC).
Cast away your doubts and join us.
May 15, 2011Posted in: News
Now that you've said it, it all makes sense. I'm sorry- I was a bit selfish and I've never thought about how it would benefit all the grandmas and children.
you obviously don't work in customer service, some gamers are dumb and/or ill-informed of mechanics to the point where the follower system will be a great crash course type tutorial. Imagine convincing your grandma to try it out, and watching over her shoulder. Think of the pain watching her struggle alone in normal, this is where the mercenary is useful. If you can't imagine your grandma doing it, maybe think of a small child.
I'm not being sarcastic or anything here. Seriously.
Sounds like a good solution.if the people are informed that it's supposed to not be effective outside of normal, this won't be a problem, and using the same system to warn people mercenaries aren't designed for other difficulties they could say try teaming up with another person.
Chill Cheese. Not all children know how to open boxes and the manual can contain descriptive pictures you know, not necessarily words.
people can open a box, they do it every birthday/present giving occasion, so they can open the box.
besides, manuals?! what is wrong with you, even suggesting that? nobody reads manuals and, really, having to read a manual would detract from the experience
See, this way everybody is happy.
May 15, 2011Posted in: News
think of the follower as a tutorial for people that would struggle playing alone in normal
thats basically what this is
and its incentive for them to pass the game multiple times, for story
remember, hardcore gamers like us are a minority
as long as they find a way to tell these people not to expect followers to do well past normal, and tie it in with coop recommendation somehow
eg tips in the loading areas
I think just to play it safe, a manual of how to open the game box should be provided and also how to insert the disc in the computer.
Of course, the manual should be attached on the box and not be inside it, otherwise it will be a complete disaster.
Seriously though, it is not a question of being hardcore or not. Gamers are not dumb.
Anybody playing the game even casually would want a consistent and rewarding experience. Mercs as one of those features could essentially add a lot in that aspect.
When considering those new to the game, this 'mechanic' as it is could cause a lot of frustration where when difficulty increases, their ally essentially becomes crap. So yes, they will now ditch the game and resume COD. What's left now are those casual/hardcore gamers who would have wanted a more in-depth and better thought-out merc system.
With the proposed normal-only restriction, single player looks more like an undesirable compromise by the developers. They want you to play MP- they are just going on in an extremely bad way about it.
It is painfully obvious that this feature is useless in its current form.
May 15, 2011It finally turned out to be a very shallow and useless feature. As somebody already said it- the option to play co-op is the incentive. No need to create a whole system to supposedly emulate this feeling. Actually I don't even understand how this will spark the desire for MP.Posted in: News
You have a follower for the easiest difficulty- the one place where you actually don't need them.
100% certain this is going to be changed/scrapped before game release or in patches/expansions.

Random quests are shallow and boring.
Same could happen to main quests....if they were not well thought out.
Some of diablo 1 quests were randomized as well and they were all very involving.
Randomized quests are definitely the way forward. I'm hoping there will be some class-specific ones as well.

Rather you should ask yourself-
Why are there only the WoW and Starcraft forums next to 'Discuss BlizzCon on our community forums'.
To answer your question though, the logic is quite simple. Diablo logo is infinitely more badass-looking than the 2 others.
