posted a message on D3 has no endgame.

Consider that the loot and build variety this way is a lot because of the lack of trading, inflated drop rates, and now the cube. Very easy to get. If legendary and set items would be much more rare, players would try to take advantage of everything for longer period, while working toward something that would be the endgame build. Now there's no such thing. What you see in the guides and leaderboards is pretty much the top and the basic gear for every player to start farming xp. xp > gear.

There's nothing wrong with googling a build and working toward it. That's how you learn. There's no point to reinvent the wheel, and there's often room for improvement. The question is how long it's gonna take? In d3 any build exact copy from the guide: from nothing in 3-10 days max. Well it's probably gonna be shitty rolled, non ancient gear, but at this point the game is over, as far as loot concerned, and you can turn on the bot just get keys and few more percentages or quit.

And what's wrong with the story mode the way it used to be.. at least you had some feeling of progress and goal - to kill diablo on inferno/mp10 w/e. Unlocking new areas, monsters, bosses... the way it is in any normal game. You also had much more consistent challenge. "Seriously, run act 3 for 1000 hours"? For gear farming could still mix in the rifts system. Just without greater rifts infinite scaling, and bounties. Like.. this worries you, really? Be fucking open minded...

They seems trying to introduce more challenges outside of getting greater rift leaderboard ranks. Hopefully one day conquests and set dungeons will be more significant than greater rift levels. But as long as infinite greater rift levels and paragons exist, it's not gonna happen I guess, since it's the only way to show off your mighty character... paragon level. Well getting the perfect rift and lags also plays the biggest role, not even your gear or level.
