Yawn. They're using a bunch of wordy responses in hopes to confuse the reader's actual issues with the game. Straw man, deflection, camouflaging. Whatever. The game is flawed, it's lazy, and it's cheap. I don't die because I'm bad, I die because the game mechanics are cheap. There's no skill, there's no intense moments where I have to use a correct sequence to survive a given situation (unless you consider trap, kite, run, shoot "skill"). And now I'm just about out of hell and feel like I accomplished nothing. Why? Because when I died I just went back to the mobs and unloaded and died again and repeat. There were no tactics, nothing other than kiting and shooting and dying. Obviously you want this to be a gear check.. great. Guess what? I didn't get a single rare item in Hell for my class. I didn't get a single upgrade in hell. The harder the game got, the worse the drops got. This is a fact. Sure, involve luck, but should lucky keep me completely out of balancing my character when I'm putting more time and effort into the game? This makes no sense. But hey, I got a bunch of other classes upgrades and rares. What a coincidence, I can now use the auction house to sell these items and buy item that anther class got that would have benefited me. Why is this not shocking? Why, it's the RMAH. Obviously it hasn't been released, but that completely irrelevant considering it was meant to be released shortly after launch.
So now I've purchased my gear in the AH. Fantastic. Wait, no it isn't. It completely contradicts the ARPG genre. Instead of being rewarded for my time and effort into killing those shiny yellow and bold blue mobs with an upgrade, I receive a golden ticket to log out of the game and reward myself with a hefty burden of browsing the auction house. Oh fun. Now that I've put the effort into killing these mobs I get to put even more time into rummaging through this annoying storefront. Just fantastic.
You want tactics please play Hardcore, see how that changes wither or not you care about dying. Blacksmithing was suppose to fill in for low drop rates thru Nightmare and Hell. People seem to think it's useless, therefore it's their fault for "not wanting to waste gold" to upgrade the Blacksmith, not Blizzard's.

To add to what I was saying, there are alot of subtle thing you have to pay attention to in the cinematic. The book that Cain had, was it the "Book of Cain" that we can order or was it the prophecies of the coming War, maybe it had the answers to defeat Diablo who knows.
Second, the panning to the stained glass of Imperius foreshadows events yet to come.
And third, as Tanith stated the meteor lands directly where Diablo 1 started. It shows that something links the meteor to the area where Diablo was first contained. Maybe there is something missing that Diablo had in his possession or maybe there is something that was forgotten.(not gonna spoil it)

Well, in my honest opinion the intro is fitting. Is it the best intro ever? No, not at all, but it is very fitting. Reason being, the intro depicts about the war between Heaven and Hell, which I'm sure HASN'T happened yet, so the illustration through the book makes sense.(even though it's disappointing cgi imperius/tyrael anyone? <_< )
As for Leah and Cain, the whole "do you believe me?" thing basically sets the tone for the first act. We're seeing the build up of a war set-in-motion that 99.9% of humanity doesn't know about. A meteor from the Heavens implies a couple things to the players a)something happened in the Heavens for a "meteor" to fall, or b)the war between Heaven and Hell had just begun. And Cain disappearing means either he was being targeted or Leah was.(what kind of meteor is that accurate) And in rolls the player finding out about these things, I mean you just saw a meteor fall form the sky . I could go deeper into it but it'll take a couple of pages, lol.
All in all I think it's a great cinematic, could it be better? Yes indeed it should be longer and more deep. But, everyone has their own opinion.

The likelihood of the fusing together to become "The Prime Evil" makes more sense now. Probably been discussed before but it just hit me after watching the opening cinematic

At around the 10~20minute mark on part 2 of the monk/witch doctor stream, he changes weapons and the damage % for the skill changes as well. Which indicates that all of this number crunching on the talent calculators are meaningless. Because the damage % of the skills fluctuate with the weapon speed and we do not have the all the numbers at the moment.
WALL OF EXPLANATION TEXT
(I'm just pulling most of these numbers outta my ass these are not accurate; most of which are based on footage I saw of beta streams, so someone put another example if you can)
So say if you have a 2-handed Staff that does 50dps and on the other hand you have a 1-hander that does 35dps with an orb off-hand which adds 10% damage to Wizards. Let's say a Magic Missile does 110 % damage with a 2.50 second weapon speed, then the percent damage is higher for a Wizard using a weapon that has a 1.50 second weapon speed probably around 160ish %. So crunching the numbers you should be pretty balanced in terms of Damage Per Second on the skills between them. The only trade-off is the 1-hander does much less damage but has more stats with the off-hand, faster proc fishing, as well as better mobility with hit and runs. Whereas the 2-hander, has a much stronger base damage hit on every spell, higher (DOTs) damage over time spells, as well as having stronger summons.
Most beta testers in right now should be able to confirm this that the % changes for Witch Doctors and Wizards depending on the weapon speed.
Point being, again, it's still the BETA. Trying to crunch these numbers this early while not having all the information and inaccurate percentages will do no good right now.

Wizard balanced now patch 5 = omg they suck now
Loving the logic here. The BETA is just that, a BETA. If any one class is too much, stronger(ex:killing everything easier and faster than other classes) or weaker, they will continue to nerf or buff till release. Just because the Wizard isn't miles ahead of everyone anymore, doesn't make them crappy to use. If anything this will make more diversed wizard builds, Speed Casting vs Damage Cannon. Not to mention unorthodox melee or slow 1-hander with shields. They may or may not be buffing certain spells in the future, if they aren't already. It's still way too early to tell people don't start freaking out so soon.

Aw that kinda disappoints me then, I was hoping this new uber Diabaalphisto was save for an expansion. Seems the power up didn't do much.

1)Honestly, if you can just switch skills on the fly then you would have to keep your skills page open all the time to try to make it as optimal as you can, which I'm sure it will get very annoying to people fast. If they keep it in, they might as well put a 10-15 skill bar down there if they were to keep swapping skills during combat in the game. But they said they wanted only a few skill bars to make builds feel unique to that person as much as they could, for whatever they choose.
2)Again if they implement said swapping, that makes "builds" and "uniqueness" kinda nonexistent cause everyone will use almost the exact same skill combination/swapping during certain fights or situations. Which in turn just makes the game boring cause people will want to do this exactly in order to kill Inferno Boss X with no problems, makes it less challenging.
For example: Hey look its the Azmodan lets do, A active skill then swap it with B active skill and repeat it the entire time, while all we have are passive and buff skills on our bar to max out dps.
3)You'll have to rune EVERY skill in your skill tree. Which again will kill the amount of runes you'll see in the AH and make it much more harder for people to decide if they want to waste their level 7 rune on Blizzard vs Meteor. Cause they have to swap it all the time for different mob packs Blizzard for slow and Meteor for dps. Why don't you just stick with, say, Meteor and rune it to add the slow? Why do I HAVE to swap it every time it just restricts me for any choice I have if I don't like the Blizzard skill at all.(I love it actually just and example)
To me thats just not fun; that you have to have a page blocking half your view and that you HAVE to swap to skills you don't want to use just for certain fights. It takes a lot of the customization out of the game cause in the later difficulties, especially Inferno, you'll become dependent on having the skill page out and swapping every other set of mobs you encounter. Then people will start complain about the need for it and ask for more skill bars which is already explained above. When in reality they should of farmed Hell more like Blizzard intended, and work through the mobs with better gear and your favorite build. I thought people complained the game was too easy anyways, letting you swap during runs really kills the difficulty to me. Whatever happened to using what is your favorite and having to make it challenging to play with what you chose. If you have an answer for every possible encounter instead of trying to figure it out, that just doesn't seem fun to me that you can just shortcut through something with Optimal-Build-X.
Maybe I'm just ranting again.
