Hello Diablofans!
This is my last post on this and any Diablo related site because i'm sick of finding out that the game is being pushed back. I've recently quit smoking and i feel like i can do anything now so i'm quitting seeking out info on what diablo is going to feel like and just play it when it comes out.
Hopefully one of my brothers will alert me as to when a release date happens so i will be there with you all the moment it begins but if not i think i'll be alright.
Force has got me into Magic:the gathering Duels of the plainswalkers. I used to collect the TCG back when i was younger so i've got myself completely hooked with this p.c version.

zaboca posted a message on Diablo 3 on 14 Marchhuh? maybe ppl should just stop posting speculations from now on. I can actually picture ppl stoning the guy for proposing the 14-Mar, such is the frustration of ppl about the official release date.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

There are many lies that are there to protect people's feelings, so called white lies. Ie; "Do I look fat in this dress?"

Next let's examine the fallacies and false assumptions in your post =)
Why would this forum contain the oldest/best/most faithful followers? I'd personally say the old style battle.net forums are at the very least a very good match.
Also, where on earth are you getting this "a significant portion of the fanbase" from? The ones posting on any forum are but a small minority of their total customers, and if you pay attention only a handfull of, admittedly very vocal, people are screaming bloody murder about the games development and have done so since pretty much the beginning. This is the same for the development of every game. All the rest is simply anxious for a release.
Now to adress your concerns about offline/online play. How is this different from a game like WoW? Atleast with Diablo 3 they have the possibility to patch in all the server side activities to be handled on our own pc's, making it offline play, should that dark dark day ever come. Reasons why they wouldn't do this are basically limited to; armageddon, gouverments collapsing into anarchy, or a world disaster whiping out civilization as we know it. In all these cases, I wouldn't be all that worried about the fact I can't play Diablo 3 anymore.

They said the beta was planned to be short and rough, they never said 1-2 months, that's just your interpretation. Clearly they ran into more problems than anticipated, on which I'd prefer not to speculate.
Next they didn't "decide" they could release in 2011, they just hoped they would be able to, but as said before, they ran into difficulties somewhere.
Thirdly, I dare you to find any link to Bashiok saying a beta should be 1 or 2 acts. The only post of his in reference to this subject was him saying the beta would be very limited contentwise, to not spoil too much. Just like Diablo 2's beta
Finally I dare not even guess where you pulled the "this beta is a cutdown version of their original plan" from.
