The pool instead of trees doesn't really do much at all. They are however trying to make early skills useful into the endgame via runes. Here's hoping it holds true and the early skills are still useful.
you do make a valid point, however the key concept there is 'teleport'. we all know that teleport in D2 was way too overpowered, which led to the Enigma debacle. so if you remove teleport from the equation, suddenly the ranged character (the sorceress in particular) are much more at risk, because they have to keep moving and could easily be one-shot-killed.
EDIT: who the hell put the word "equation" in red??
Hmm, thought everyone knew that The Pit was probably the best area to get high runes in :D. I've still never seen a high rune in the 10 years I've played though.
BoE is a crappy way to put the item selling sites out of business. The sole existance of duping is the ONLY reason these sites are even there in the first place.
I don't think they will announce a release date at all, just a guess.
Look at SC2, still no 'release date', just a "we hope it will be out by mid-summer".
SC2 is an entirely different beast though. If they don't get the balance right they'll have all the rabid Koreans after them trying to behead them. Diablo 3 doesn't need perfect balance because it isn't intended to be an esport.

Wizards still have teleport.

It's essentially tornado from the druid in D2. Which is very very effective.
