    Quote from name="Dicho Card" »

Addressing the other problem of loot leaching, if I were Blizzard, I would make the individual drops specific to a person's level. I.e. A level 99 barb parties with a level 1 Wizard and they kill a boss - the Barb gets 75 gold and a level 80 item, the Wizard gets 1 gold and a level 1 item.

That's how I would roll it.

This is a good idea but I'm not sure if it's feasible in terms of coding and implementation.

However, Blizzard has said that they are working on something similar for WoW: Cataclysm. So we may see a system like the one you described in D3. I'm hoping we do!

Fully agree, Diablo = Singleplayer foremost

Otherwise you would need internetconnection to play the game and maybe pay some $/,month.

    as for bop:
Even more stupid, someone better tell Blizzard that this isnt Diablocraft its D I A B L O

so leave the game as it is and don't implement crap from your cartoonnetwork game damnit.

Items as quest-rewards? WTF you should get them randomly like in Diablo 2 otherwise people are forced to do all the braindead queststuff...

And YES that also affects the sp part of the game.

    BoA, BoE:
Wont, but esp. BoE would destroy the free game economy forever.

What are they trying to fix?! If I "own" an item I want to be able, to sell, trade, hand it over to whomever I want, BoE takes away this freedom and why bother "endgame" gear? Diablo has no real endgame gear, because you are just running the same bosses over and over there is nothing like "raidprogression" or stuff like that so this idea is right down the line stupid as hell.

It really looks like Blizz has forgotten WHO made them rich, its not the damn wow'ers. They are implementing too much crap and therefore pissing off some loyal (former) fans, just to please a so called "new community"...

I don't think you actually read the blue post.. what you wrote is misinformed and wrong in almost every way.

Go back, read, analyze, and stop jumping to conclusions.

    posted a message on Wolfenstein!
Just finished the game. Don't spend your money on it. It's average and non-involving in so many ways that id software's non-participation in the creation of the game (they only produced it) is screamingly obvious. My review on it from another forum:

I was looking forward to Wolfenstein almost as much as some of the other big titles of this year (Modern Warfare 2, Assassin's Creed 2, etc) but it seems it's not as good of a game as it could have been.

The first couple of hours are pretty bland + boring and the game only picks up past the halfway mark.. a good game is supposed to grab the player and suck them in from the start, not make them wonder when the more interesting fights and missions and content starts happening.

The plot is, unfortunately, a joke. The protagonist is not involving at all, and none of the characters make you care for them. The various groups in the game such as the Golden Dawn are so two-dimensional it's hard to be interested in what they have to say to you.

The graphics are only passable (in that they at least do not make you cringe, although there's a decent amount of ugly/poorly mapped textures.

I am actually *somewhat* enjoying the later levels (currently in the castle) but they constantly make me wish the rest of the game was more interesting. The level variety is pretty much the only thing that kept me going, although the same can't really be said for the actual level design in the first half of the game. Running through the same freaking town in different directions 1298387 times was not fun.

What else did I not like about the game? Hmm.. AI behavior ranges from passable to atrocious. Stupid instant travel to the start of a mission (Arrive at castle instanly after hopping on truck..) Enemies will glitch out occasionally, as will your allies. Speaking of your allies, they are as useful as sacks of potatoes. Looking for gold and treasure was only interesting for the first 30 minutes of the game. The Veil is overused to the point where you could be running in it the whole time. And last but not least, the game is way, way too easy. On the hardest (out of 4!) difficulty modes, it does not feel challenging in the least.

The only upsides - the combat is satisfactory, the Veil is pretty cool, and the boss fights are original.

I tried starting D2 and LoD again ever since I joined this forum. Attempted 4 times...with friends, solo, specific char bulds (didn't try mods though) etc. and I could never play more than a few hours before uninstalling.

That's nice but the thread is about World Of Warcraft.. reading the first posts in a thread is generally a good thing to practice.

Don't bother. It feels stale again a few hours after you return to it.

The more and more I read about the implications of the proposed 85 and up BOE change, the more I like it.

Anything that prolongs the life/raises the value of endgame items drastically is a godsend in terms of replayability/character development. I don't see any reason to really complain about it..

posted a message on Battle.net - now 5$ a month (from "trusted source")
    Quote from "Raze" »
No thank you, I do not want to pay for Battlenet 2.0 because if you want to play multiplayer you have to pay them for the privilege of playing. I would much rather they include LAN in the original game. I think if they did that it would benefit them more in the long run.

They can't include true LAN in the original game because then half the customer base will simply pirate the game and play it over Hamachi..

Pseudo-LAN requiring at least a basic internet connection is a perfectly acceptable solution, though.

There won't be any monthly or annual fees for Battle.net - I would bet 50$ on this, if anyone wants to take me up on it!

I thought CoD 4 had one of the best single-player campaigns I've played through in an FPS, with the only downside being that it was a little too short.

    1680x1050 on my 21'' widescreen.

The lowest I'll go down to in-game is 1280x1024 for really demanding games that even my overclocked card slows down on.. like Crysis. FPS > Visual quality, always.

posted a message on Act 4 Corrupted Tyrael End Boss
I wouldn't mind seeing Tyrael turn evil in the end or reveal his real self as a twist, would make for a nice extra Act and all that.. also a lot of content for an expansion right there.

I still think it's more likely that he will remain relatively 'good' throughout the game, but the OP's idea is definitely possible. Save for the acts/bosses thing, since we have an act II boss confirmed now.. Belial, I think?

i can't go back to stupid base building after playing Dawn of War 2

If you don't like base building, World In Conflict (not the expansion, though) should be a game you would very much enjoy.. it is one of the highest rated/reviewed RTS of this decade for a reason.

Base building is essential to the Starcraft experience for me.. no other game really provides that feeling of building up a good defense or field offense (save for select C&C titles).

posted a message on Old UI vs New UI
The Skills window has a bit too much of a WoW feel to it, but I suppose that can't be avoided, since that pretty much *is* the best and most straightforward way to display skills and their progression/requirements.

Other than that, the new one is better than the old in a lot of ways.
