I think we should make a treasury. 1 Account with only mules. Some people will have access to it (elite people) and everyone chips in to provide equipment for newbs and to elite players. I also like the concept of a MF team and some high lvl rushers.
I like this idea, but I think it will be not doable unless the "elite team" become or is a team of good friends who really want to share. For my part i think is a good idea because I know this work good from previous try. all we gotta do is to keep an eye on the pass and to who it is given.

I want to make an elite team dedicated to getting to level 99. There would have to be one or two, perhaps even three people dedicated to grinding a single character, and then a support team magic finding items for the grinders in order to get the build completed. The character could be called DiabloFans or something to advertise the site.
We don't know how different the builds will be once the patch releases so I'd say no.
maybe you could tell us more about this "dedicated elite team" your talking about (build, etc.) and maybe this will answer some of the questions of donsro?
edit: which type of characters (sorc, zon, necro? etc) do you mind about in the elite team

I do not suggest every one to build up a mf sorc 1st..... Im pretty sure that not even half of those who will do a mf sorc will be able to build it correctly without decent or r/w to be able to own anything in nm..... I suggest more to every to vary and when we will have the headteam in the 80's or the 90's maybe we'll think about having more sorc.... What I'll do is.....because im sure we will still have people trying to do as first a barb a pally or zon, I'll do a chanter... pretty useless? not really.... more planning on a tele zon with chant..... no mf there..... otherwise if we can't handle bosses or minion or shit i'll build up a tank barb just to help til we reach hell....
There doesn't have to necessarily be one leader. There can be 2-3 leaders and 2-3 co-leaders. Having more than one opinion on important matters is always good.

More often than not I've always had leadership roles handed out by clan vote. For the first 2 weeks after the patch releases there doesn't have to be any leaders. But there will be those who take charge and make things happen and those active members who are online and see certain individuals doing good things for the clan will notice and take note of it. At which point those people that take charge will be nominated and voting can commence.
I'm not saying that's how we do it but it is an idea and it has worked out well in the past.

I offered to Iceblade myself to be a clan manager. As a clan manager I will make everything work correctly in-game especially within the headteam. The fact in game is important since I do not seek for any leader spot. I just wanna be sure that everything will go right in-game and the most people will be able to play togheter.
My favorite is barbarian today. Because I'm having always new Idea to try to always get something more powerfull. The Iron Skin, natural resistance of barb are nothing more than annoying. Have you ever saw a zealot almost unable to hit a barb because the barb have some annyoing def (like what? 30K+ def? I'm correct? with merc act2)? Have you ever seen a sorc almost unable to hurt a barb with 15k+ fireball because the barb has only 1 dwarf? This is what a barb is about:

I won't go deep in this post because i just want a free place for people to ask more question and have more visibility for my group. Of course all the informations will be available on my blogpost about the diablo 2 patch 1.13 new ladder workgroup and on my site for the clan guild diablo 2 called Rise to riches. In my blogpost ill always update the pertinent information. On my site for the clan, I'll keep an updated list of the member (d2jsp.org players and diablofans.com members: because we do not have our characters for the 1.13) and the rules. And finnaly on jps and maybe on diablofans ill have a thread for the daily information we need as the time,date,gn/pw,activity.
But for now, I'll explain very quick what this is about.
I'm creating a very small group:
around 10-30 person or characters which will works togheter and help each others to level, to quest, to grind, to gather stuff, AND FINNALY RANK IN THE FIRSTS POSITION ON THE LADDER. This group will be composed about only very researched characters we need for and the very best players. I'm looking for: Necro with golem and res. Druids with oak. Very good dps, pally with different kind of aura and finnaly BARBS, Barbs will deserves all the best spots. Barbs are the most requested character as long as we need the best tanks and the best cries possible and other very good char you can make will deserve all the best spots. For my own I'll have a very special sorc (build will be explained later).
A short explanation of how this work:
I'll have another thread on D2JSP.org or/and on DIABLOFANS.com. On this thread I'll post for the first day and further days different times, GN/PW and activities we will be doing at the time and the gn mentionned for those activities.
Activities from the 1st day to the end can looks like this:
Trist runs;
arcane runs;
tomb runs;
baal runs;
questing runs and
boss runs.
