Yeah, looking just at SC they have two alien races, the protoss and the zerg. So an alien could be intellectual and use psionics or the alien could be a brute and use acid. And I have to agree, I wouldn't imagine that it would be on a farm where crop circles take place then get abducted. That's just lame.

I don't mean to bash anyone's ideas, but what can you do with a zombie invasion? You can't really expand a story onto it. It'll basically be killing zombies for days, which doesn't have much potential.

Good to have ya Lt Venom. I'll change you on the list above and add Stormcat.

The actually voting wont start until Saturday morning, then ending Sunday night. This small ammount of time between now and Saturday was for more, if any, people to say that they want to join and keep up to date about the progress, mainly the vote. So, as we love, and want, your enthusiasm, Zhar, you will have to vote again, which I get the feeling wont bother you.

Anyway, you have the rest of tonight, Thursday, and tomorrow Friday to talk about whatever, convince other on your genre ideas and whatnot. Then, Saturday morning I will post the information about the voting system and Sunday night the voting will close, which Scyber and I will tally up.

Again to clarify, the people that we know want to participate are:
    Scyberdragon
    Junction3
    Zhar
    Turmobil
    Party_Foul
    Elfen Leid
    Massive Attack
    Kamrad
    Lt Venom
Stormcat (We heard you might be interested)

I liked Kamrad's idead with the more game-like strategy such as in Fantasy Tactics and Evolution, but I agree with Scyber, if we are going to do that, which I don't mind, it should be done in another thread. I think having a system would be good and bad.

I think it would be good, because we can develop our characters, rather than having them already be developed (in the sense of their spells and so forth). Also, everyone would have a complete understanding of what their and other characters are capable of doing. Basically, there wont be an suprise fireballs when you said you only knew mainly lightning magic.

However, like Zhar stated, we don't get to just type out our spells and use all the cool fluff to make it sound awesome. But, we could use layouts for spells that way there is always an list of spells to resort to and when we use them in the story thread we could fluff it up instead of using the actual spell name. For example, the 'character development?' thread would show: Wizard knows Thunder 3. And in the story thread, the player would write out something like: Wizard raises his hands toward the sky as blue energy blows from his body to the sky. Clouds darken the sun that was showing down upon the battlefield. Wizard throws his hands at the zombies that started to surround them as a bolt of lightning struck three zombies dead.
Also, if we don't really have teirs of certain spells then we can hit someone 19 times and not be held back by only having the 10-hits-per-one-target spell, etc.

Either way I'm fine with, but I was just putting out some pros and cons. I haven't seen Turmobil's suggestions, so I can't really base what I said on that, mainly just from seeing what Kamrad did.

I think that a Diablo and Medieval RP would be a typical RP, so I'm alright with doing those ones. But my choices would be either the Sci-Fi or Pirates. Those would be more fun, less serious (pirates mainly), and would force expansion on everyone creativity. I feel, from the other RPs, that we all understand how to do a Medieval and Diablo RP, which is why I think it would be fun to do Sci-Fi or Pirates.

Maybe criminals against the church, per se? That might be hard to do since Seth was saying how a religion was absent now. I don't know, just thoughts.

Also, Seth, since I made that mistake and typed Aidan rather than Aritius, you are also still at the top of the abyss, meaning you need to make your way down too. In case you didn't notice or whatnot.

I'm sure at this point I'm not going to get another if any more votes for my story, so whoever wants to, you can move this thread and my OOC discussion thread to the archives. Oh well, sorry to anyone that actually wanted to keep it going, which I'm sure was only scyber and eldermoon.

    Thanks.

Yeah basically Aritius used magic to reform the stone wall of the abyss forming crude ledges that could be used to climb down. I don't think I moved Aidan though. I spoke to him when I was still on the ledge over looking the abyss. Then, he climbed down, if you were already down there or something, I hadn't realized.

    Edit:
Nevermind, I see what you were talking about. That was a mistake, I'm just dumb. All the A names got jumbled in my head and I typed Aidan rather than Aritius. My bad, so you're still at the top of the chasm. Sorry for the confusion

I agree. A seems to be the only option, unless for some reason the cave is really small and the monster can't reach them. On a side note, I hate you. I let you cameo my character and you kill him, ripped in half.

Well I made the stone with my character. Seth's puny human was a good springboard for my magical use ;). I'm upset that were putting guard's clothes on though, since I took off the set I was wearing.

The shockwave of Tyreon's spell boomed through the darkness of the passageway forcing the walls of the abyss to rumble. Aritius stood up to hear the relief of Tyreons voice calling back up from the abyss "I think this is the prison that lay on the bottom floor of the fortress," he shouted.

Thank goodness he's alright. I owe him my eternal forgiveness, Aritius though to himself with a sigh. Flickering lights appeared at the bottom of the abyss as two guards walked into the chambers with another victim of the Count's terror. Before Aritius could even react, Mentis had flung himself into the chasm off of his towering rage. Fashes from Mentis's chains gleamed about the chamber tearing through the flesh of the two guards. Blood spatter decorated the walls after Mentis's brutality ended and he helped Tyreon to his feet.

"With the raucus you're both making I would be amazed if we weren't dealing with a good twenty guards within the quarter hour..." Aidan shouted down the chasm to the two who await the rest of them. "Some magic would help," Aidan told himself, "if I knew any."

"Weak humans," Aritius scoffed to himself.

"Fethala basreyavaru," Aritius said as his hands glowed. The side of the abyss shoke as rough stone ledges pushed out from the sides forming a means of getting to the prison. Aritius climbed down the side of the wall tired from the magic that he used. He wasn't much of a user himself, but his natural abilities to use magic was handy for situation, such as this.

Aritius arrived at the bottom of the abyss, the prision, to see Mentis and Tyreon putting on the two guards' clothes.

"Guards clothes?!" Aritius exclaims, "Why did I take off that other set?!" he turns to Tyreon to speak, "Tyreon, my remorse is never ending for what I have caused. Please, brother, friend, except my deepest apology for these deeds."

I'll within a couple hours here, but I'll have my character climb down the stones scared. As to not doing any flying flips down. That's what the stone ladder thing is for right?

Aritius followed the group through the city toward the cemetary. The sounds of grinding metal echoed between the house as the armed soldiers marched through to mop of the remains. The group made haste and ran to the cemetary as Aritius removed the map from his knapsack once more. As other group members made idle chat, Tyreon grabbed the map and led the way through the houses. Seeming only minutes away they arrived upon the tomb detailed on the map. Tyreon tried forcing the tomb's door open with little avail, only to open with ease after one of Tyreon's solid spells.

The group pushed their way into the tomb in search of the staircase, but to also escape from a most brutal death of the soldiers. They searched high and low for a hidden passage way to lead them further through the catacombs. Mentis searched diligently until he opened a sarcophagus revealing a crawlspace leading below. One-by-one they all slipped down into the underground hall leading toward the fortress.

They walked slowly through the very dark hall until Tyreon summoned lights to show the way. The hall was still very dim and Aritius couldn't see his own hands infront of him. Loosing sight of the members ahead of him he rushed forward to catch up with them.

"Hey, wait up," Aritius yells into the darkness.

The other members suddenly appeared at Aritius face, stopped. Aritius bumped into Tyreon, hard, knocking him into the reason they stopped.

"NOO!" Aritius yells extending his hand outward only for it to be swallowed into the darkness of the abyss that Tyreon had fallen into. What have I done?! I'm sorry, brother, Aritius thought staring into the abyss in awe.
