I really hope my phone doesn't go off and tell me i have an e-mail from blizzard. Work will be left, and traffic laws will be broken (all of them).

That is, until I step in the door of my house, then its time to arrange for work from home for the rest of the week!

The interesting part of this is you display in this post just as much narrow mindedness as those you deface. Opinions vary, while granted there are a fair amount of people who lack perspective (it is just a game after all), trying to squash out diversity is a quick way to ruin reputations. I don't care about RMAH, some people do. Who am I, or you, to say that their opinion on the subject is wrong so long as they present their opinions well. The point of discussion is to understand various views, not impose your own. Objectivity and being open to accommodate others is key, Sixen is just as in question as Flux in my opinion. Neither of them present information in an unbiased fashion.

Closed minded? I dunno, it seems like he gave them a fair shot, and over time his attachment/enjoyment of their community lessened so he left.

He also didn't say that their opinions were wrong, just that he didn't like the opinions held by the general membership of that community; nor did he try to impose his point of view on anyone, as far as we know (it would be interesting to see if stating one's opinion is considered "imposing" it).

Judgement is a necessary action of the human mind. Understanding what reasons you have for making a particular judgement allow you to cultivate good (or at least better) judgement. I haven't spent too much time on incgamers (although i remember the site layout from a few cahracter build guides for d2) so I can't say one way or the other anything about Flux, but the diablofans staff seem fairly level headed and willing to examine a variety of perspectives.

So ok, lets make it this way:

does ticket buyn' to basketball, football etc. game effects score?
does banana buyin effect basketball, football game?

Those questions? No. They aren't analogous questions though.

Does money spent on coaches/trainers/equipment effect the scores of games? Yes.

Does that make any of the people playing in those games anything less than the best of the best (for the pro leagues)? No.

Does the fact that some players have more resources to spend on training or equipment make the game less enjoyable when you are playing 2 hand touch with your family on a family get together? I would hope not.

I think you are missing the fact that they aren't balancing the classes for pvp. That in it's own is what makes the current pvp system no more than a light hobby. If you take pvp seriously with obvious balance issues, you will be forced onto the most OP class, and probably fight nothing but the same OP class.

Have you ever played a player versus player game before?

I think you're missing the fact that it is a Sisyphean task to balance all the possible combinations of builds for a single class, let alone the possible permutation of class compositions. How do you expect one build to be superior to all 2 trillion or however many builds there will be. You don't think there will be at least 1 build from each class that will be able to hard-counter, and many that will be able to soft-counter whatever your Holy-PvP-Superiority-Batman build happens to be.

D2 wasn't balanced for pvp and "everybody" "loved" it.

Have YOU ever played a pvp game? Which ones are PERFECTLY balanced? How many of those are also considered RPGs?

I've played RTS, FPS, MMO, and MOBA games, and at least dabbled in pvp for all of them.

PantheraOnca: I know there is PvP in the game you dont have to tell me that. What you do have to tell me is why the current PvP system is so damn good in your eyes. There is NOTHING competetive with it, blizzard even stated so. They dont want any competetive feel in the game at all. All they want you to do is to grind till your eyes bleed, get the best gear and kill monsters faster and boost your friends. --> repeat --> gets boring --> nothing to do

How is fighting equally rated (i.e. skilled and geared) players NOT competitive?

It's certainly more competitive than joining random duel games. It is approximately as competitive as private leagues, only with a much bigger player selection. And if you are very skilled, it may be more competitive due to that increased player base so that you will be able to fight against more people like yourself.

Does the game not saying "You're #1000 out of 1,000,000 players, THAT MEANS THIS GAME IS COMPETITIVE!" change anything? Does it affect the quality of the matches? Are you getting matches against different people because your rating is public? No.

Now, it might make it initially harder to set up leagues with skill parity if the MMR is non-viewable, but over time, that will work itself out.

Hell, there might be achievements or titles unlockable once you break a certain rating, we don't know. If you're interested in competition to show off, the current pvp system may be lacking.

If you're interested in competition to have challenging matches, then current system is perfectly fine.

Sixen and Force, thanks for being there for this community. At the moment what blizzard has implemented for PvP is just crap. There is no way to put it in a constructive critical manner. Whatever you guys decide to do to make PvP a bigger and more awsome part of D3, i'm riding your train.

Lets write a petition! givf competetiveness to D3, otherwise PvP aint PvP. Ty DF.

the arena system is already a huge thing for pvp that no other diablo game has had. the have a matchmaking system which will pit you against players of equal skillXgear. You already have competitive pvp.

Blizzard could do nothing more and there would be more, competitive pvp features than in both of the previous diablo games combined. they even have an alternatve set of balance-able figures so that once pvp gets settled, they can make adjustments to it separately from pve abilities.

what more do you want? leagues? that can be community driven, like it was in d2 (and as mentioned above, it already has more support). I don't know if they've said one way or another, but as long as you can make a custom pvp match against another team, blizzard has already given the tools to the pvp community to do whatever they would like with pvp.

If all you want is custom match-making capability, then petition for that, and stop complaining about how "PVP MAED D@ LAST THIS LONG!!@#!!!" (i haven't read that from you, but its a common argument, that i think doesn't hold water)

d2 pvp was crap. it was an afterthought. d3 has pvp as an actually balancable medium. no pvp will be meaningful until max level anyway. including pvp features at launch will just delay the game.

    **incoming hyperbole**
I would rather kill any children or pets you may have than allow pvp features to delay the release of this game by 1 minute more than it already has.
    **/end hyperbole**
