i agree, to most ppl a f2p mmorpg with cash shop and other pay features is more appealing than the monthly subscription of wat wow offers
1. more spare time, if u subscribe to wow, for say 2 months, most likely u'd want to make best use of the 2 months by playin nonstop so u squeeze every bit of juice out of the buck u paid for, leading to: parents yellin, reduced schoolwork quality, reduced reallife social
2. 'u may pay' is always better than 'u must pay'
ps: wat u guys think the next mmorpg will b? i vote on 'World of Starcraft' lmfao

for those of u who played many other rpgs such as WoW and stuff, u may have noticed that during holidays theres special events that lets u have extra fun apart from the daily routine of 'kill mobs, find items' and 'fight other players', such as christmas event where u may find santa hats to wear on ur character, candy canes, and stuff like that
so wat if d3 (this never happened to d1 nor d2 before) introduces 'special holiday events' like every easter, u log in battle.net and it requires u to download a small (say 1mb) patch that lasts a few days and instead of fighting ordinary monsters, u fight cute little rabbits (and if more appropriate, zombie/skeletal/were rabbits) just for some extra fun? of course the drop rate and exp rate can be slightly higher, since purpose of holiday events is for u to enjoy the game more, and end of easter the original (or upgrade) patch kicks in and u resume to normal gaming
however im against the idea of having exclusive holiday event drops (like gayscape/runescape did), because people get disappointed if they miss out on some really cool drops and have to pay a lot (santa hats/party hats) or regret (if item is untradeable)
still, maybe exclusive consumables may be dropped like candy cane that lasts until end of xmas and adds special temporary buffs to ur character if eaten, people wont regret missing out because they'd disappear anyway, keeps the game fair dont u think

its a good idea, but it should be in a cinematic that only whoever died can see, use that for whoever dies by worms that dig in and out of ground
otherwise, if the monster really drags ur body into the hole, u might lose ur hard-earned gear forever, it makes people rage quit d3 that way
