You are really underestimating alarms. Just put up a motion detection camera that automatically notifies you when someone approaches the door.

The equipment you use to produce the virtual reality can prevent you from becoming scared, it can easily do it by electrical impulses. What is the point of buying a horror game if it is too realistic to play :P It would obviously turn you into this brave hero that never get too scared. Dreaming is once again a good example of when you can do things that would scare the fuck out of you irl.

We must drop this now or it will get deleted for beeing off-topic :P Even if it isn't... it is very possible that D4 will be in virtual reality xD

Alright, I personally will have to judge by Diablo 3 to see if I even want a Diablo 4 before I start thinking about its evolution. Who knows, maybe Diablo 3 will be terrible. I can't see it being in VR though that's for sure.

Hmm, yes it might be scary when a siege breaker breaks out of a wall and charges you :P But I think that dying would just equal the screen turning black. It would obviously not include real pain :)

It will be the future, we will all have leet alarms

There will always be someone who will figure out how to get through those alarms no matter how good they are. Besides, I might not be able to afford good alarms when I'm older anyways.

And I think being anywhere in the Diablo world would be scary as hell. Think about it, everything in that world would seem just as real as the real world. So essentially you would be walking through dark forests surrounded by horribly realistic demons everywhere. It would be absolutely terrifying.

And I'm sure they'd incorporate other senses into virtual reality as well. I don't know if they'd let you feel pain but you'd likely be able to smell and feel everything else. It would be strange if you were walking around in a world where everything looks realistic but you can't feel anything.

Anyway, mainstream virtual reality probably won't be out in our lifetime unless we are very rich. The technology is simply much too expensive for the average joe to buy. Besides, we'll all be dead by 2012 anyway.

I would not want to play a Diablo game in virtual reality ever. I would have nightmares for weeks. And think of all the times you'd get killed in-game. It'd be a horrible feeling I imagine.

Plus I'd be very paranoid playing anything in virtual reality because if as you say, your mind would be disconnected from reality someone could probably just break into your house and kill your real body while you're playing. It's just creepy.

Omg when i fought the Warlord of Blood, i was basically pissing myself. His speech plus what everyone says about him makes you think ah fuck im gonna die for sure.

Yes siree, god willing Diablo 3 will be able to replicate that feeling with its bosses.

Yeah, now that I think about, the King Leoric fight was just as scary if not more scary than the Butcher. The fact that he could revive his minions made the possibility of getting swarmed so much more possible than with the other bosses. In fact, I'd say just about every boss fight was very tense. Zhar the Mad included haha.

I hope they don't make the mini-bosses so impressive that the act bosses' entrances have less of an effect when we fight them. I definitely don't want every boss to appear in a spurt of blood or whatever. I'd like to save most of the glory for the head honcho bosses.

I don't like the checkpoint system but I can't say I liked the Diablo 2 method either. That's why I play hardcore. Constantly getting resurrected just kills immersion for me and takes away from me having a meaningful gaming experience. As you can see, I just don't like resurrection in general.

Having heard that clip, despite the badassness of Weaving's voice, I still think I would like a deeper voice on my ideal Duriel. Still, he could work.

This probably sounds like a stupid question but I don't understand how I can access my account on the wiki. I'm guessing it isn't the same one as the forum account because it keeps saying this account doesn't exist when I try to log in to the wiki. Does this mean I have to make a wiki account? Just trying to get confirmation on this in case there's a way I can use this account for the wiki.

    posted a message on Rep
It's simple.... I don't ^_^! I'm pretty sure oath or indestructible don't either. I do signatures out of passion and creativity ;) reputation is at the bottom of my list, I can assure you. Lets not forget the artists we have here on Dfans, they do awesome stuff also !

Oh sorry Psyxix, I don't think I've been clear enough about what I mean by signature. I simply mean leaving or "signing" your name in the comment box that appears when you donate a rep point, not to be confused with the artistic signatures that people create to be displayed under their posts. My apologies for the foggy terminology.

Welcome, welcome. I'm glad to see you're so excited about Diablo 3, I think you'll feel very much at home in Diablofans. Remember though, that everyone's different. For me Diablo was more about the visuals and atmosphere (among other things) than the gameplay so I place a lot of importance on that aspect of the game.

Negative threads are less prominent nowadays as people begin to see more of the game and I'm sure you'll find everyone pretty pleasant. May you contribute much to the forums and continue to keep your open mind!

Game manuals are fun to read. Especially when they're for games that you know and love like the Diablo series. And of course, Blizzard makes great game manuals. I remember when I read the Diablo 2 manual before I even started playing the game, I was immediately entranced. The Starcraft manual was also very good as Siaynoq has already mentioned.

I have no idea how a turn-based Diablo would've have turned out but I'm glad it didn't become the final game's gameplay system. I could see it working for Diablo since it was a fairly slow game anyway but it would have ruined Diablo 2.

There are so many interesting tidbits to be found on Diablo Evolution, it's amazing how much stuff Diablo was originally going to have.

    I wasn't joking... :D

I thought that Hugo Weaving would be cool as Duriel since he did a pretty good job as Megatron in the Transformers movies! And Andy Serkis, apart from bringing Gollum to life in the Lord of the Rings, he also did the voice for the Witch-King, which sounds really cool and really Mephistish! ;)

Oh! I wasn't thinking of the actors only doing voices! Makes sense though. I never saw Transformers, was Weaving's voice modified for the movie? The voice actor for Duriel would have to have a very deep voice and I don't think Weaving's is particularly deep (pretty baritonal). Maybe I should go watch The Lord of the Rings and The Matrix again because I can't really remember.
