posted a message on The Witch Doctor's Plague of Toads lame? Hardly.
What happened to the days when people would play a game that a development team would put out, instead of having to be so effing opinionated about every little damn thing going into it? Is the skill going to make you NOT play the game? No. Is the presence of the skill going to ruin your entire Diablo 3 gameplay experience? No.

Really, the whole argument goes back to the "OMG TOO MANY RAINBOWS" crap. If you don't like it, fine. Don't like it. It doesn't matter if you like it or not, nobody at Blizzard is going to do anything but mock the collective mass of you that voice your opinion (i.e. the rainbow pony shirt).

After reading the complaints about this skill, I think I'm going to make it a point to personally PK people that bitch & moan about the toads, just to piss them off... under a rainbow waterfall.

who cares? lemme say what i want to say, this is a free country. if i want to complain im going to complain with poeple who fill the same way (the majority).

I think that what Oath is getting at is... there's a difference between having an opinion and being a fickle bitch. If we're all going to complain about something just because every single aspect of it isn't to our liking - we're never going to be satisfied. He's encouraging that we be open-minded, which I wholeheartedly agree with him on.

I only use LAN as an example, because it is the hottest topic currently.

For me, the biggest issue was the whole art-style/direction thing. I, personally, didn't mind it nor did I care about what others had to say - simply accepted it. The fact that people got so up-in-arms about it really bothered me.

In case nobody knows what that it, it's a Naginata. Old samurai weapon. It's light, has great length, and can be swung quite quickly without tiring the user.

That's all well & good, but really - how practical is that weapon? How often are you going to find a Naginata lying around?

    Weapons write-up tomorrow. :)

Someone suggested 1up.com, so, I'm going to suggest the gaming site I frequent.

    http://www.kotaku.com

Jam packed with video game news, videos, and general industry nonsensical awesomeness. What sets Kotaku apart from the other video game journalist websites is that it updates almost every 30 mins, 24 hours a day. You will never run out of things to read/watch on Kotaku. I don't even visit 1up anymore. I don't have to, Kotaku updates sooner, and more often.

And here I was thinking you weren't going to get too heavily involved in this thread. :cute:

when I'm bored shitless, I always go back to this old text game I play.

    www.godwars2.org

That game, despite being a MUD (multi-user dungeon, basically fancy language for MMO in text), is fucking incredible to play, and insanely addictive. I've logged over 400 hours on my one character :/.

    http://www.diablofans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19785

Theres a thread I started about it, if you want to learn what the game is all about, go check out that thread.
The creator of the game also stopped in for a chat, he's KaVir if anyone is wondering.

edit: And it's work safe as well, many of the players on it play it during work or school.

Oh man. MUDs. I remember playing one that was based in a DragonLance setting. Oh, those were the days...

Adding this one to the list!

You said that most flash games won't work? I suggest looking at the puzzle/strategy side of the flash games. Many of those games doesn't require you to be active all the time. You can do a few moves,
do a little work, then do some more moves.

I recommend www.armorgames.com for random games of that kind.
I also recommend www.escapetheroomgames.net if you like those kinds of games.

I LURVE THE ESCAPE ROOM GAMES!
Mostly I avoid flash games because of the noise; games that I can mute are best. Also I prefer games that are turn based and/or don't have time limits. Thanks for recommending these! +1 rep!

    Hey everyone!

My life is pretty boring at times. While I'd love to sit on a forum all bloody day and chit-chat about Diablo or whatever else comes to mind, I just don't think I have the patience for it.

With that being said, I ask how you fine ladies & gents pass the time on your computer? Any suggestions? Anything will do, but let's try to keep it safe-for-work material, folks.

I'll try to keep a list of the recommendations in this first post, so that everybody can come back to it & find something to help them pass the time!

Me & Zhar are both from Canada, actually.
It's pretty decent, but we have our own problems here just like any other country. At the risk of sounding too un-patriotic, I'd say that this country can be a huge sack of crap sometimes... otherwise, we're pretty great.
I don't really think that we're "safe" from bombing, rather perhaps considered less important to bomb than say, America, whose army significantly outmans ours. Not to mention sheer firepower, Americans take the cake there.
However, we are way further north than Pennsylvania - so fleeing to the frozen Tundra wouldn't be so far fetched. The problem with going far north is that if the Zombies are way up there; dealing with them if/when they thaw out may be problematic in and of itself.
