its more about strengthening/uniting their communities than to fight trolls. trolls wouldnt stop anyways.

i could be considered a fanboy i guess cause i have a tendency to like changes, even if they look controversial.
i'm under the category of the "very unique names". using the real one on facebook, though, and people can see me in the "i play WoW" application too i guess. wouldnt be too different for the forums either. the only thing they would achieve, would be the thing they said they planned when they announced battle.net 2. "uniting the fan bases" so its not just Diablo, Starcraft and Warcraft. now its gonna be "Blizzard". And the one thing they would make easier will be to make it easier for us to identify a person... as a person and not as a character. so i wont have to be looked at as Fanya/Aragul/whatever when playing WoW and Fingolfin.noldore when playing StarCraft II or whatever character name i choose to pick when i play Diablo 3. and my friends will still be able to identify my posts on the forums.

that said, i'll say something i'm not 100% certain about (if someone knows more it will be welcome) but i think that still in-game people will only be able to see your real-id if and only you confirm them as real-id friends. which in most cases is more than enough cause the majority of the users dont post much on the forums.

anyway, i'd still prefer them to give us the option. being forced to do something never felt good.

What you're talking about sounds great except it has NOTHING to do with showing your real names.

You know, I have an internet identity. SFJake is what I use most of the times, while character names are just that, character names. Linking games together? Look at Steam. No one has any clue who I REALLY am, but everyone can find me between games and such, always under the same name. The whole real ID thing and having to show your name for that is a complete joke. This should be possible without it.

This is a really bad day for me, so you'll excuse me if I speak my mind with words that I'm sure many people think any way.

These guys are morons. Why would anyone stay in such a stupid forum? Hey, great Blizz, maybe you cut trolls, but what you cut is even more people that even wanted to give feedback.

I always thought it was retarded as hell that you need to register your cd-key to post in the first place, but this doesn't invade privacy the way THIS does. This is absolute garbage.

I mean, common. Are you fucking kidding me? Is this April fools or something? Oh yeah, and they are hoping to "connect with the people more". This is the same thing as that RealID crap, you -need- that to access certain additional features. Hey, fuck you Blizzard. This is a freakin' joke, just trying for the stupidest reason in the world to remove anonymity. This is the internet, and I really need people to give me insults because I -suck- at insults in English and I don't know what to say.

And seriously, "it’s important to us to create a new and different kind of online gaming environment -- one that’s highly social, and which provides an ideal place for gamers to form long-lasting, meaningful relationships".

What the fuck got into them. I'm not saying online friends are not nice to have and all that. But this is beyond ridiculous. These guys are just idiots. This is unbelievable.

And I thought Blizzard was not as dumb as EA. Guess they, too, lost that. Jesus christ.

WTF? A@#$ hole, first off I AM a game dev you stupid @#$unt, second, wtf? bigger weapons knocking something down more often = perfectly @#$$@$ing logical
whats the point of using a big maul, instead of an axe, or sword if you cant knock things on their ass more often?

third, it was just a fuking question, so back off, hope you get cancer you S O B
Geeze, quite the temper for a developer. I've been "developing" games since I was like 12 too. Unless you truly are a professional game developer. But that doesn't matter, even if you are, you really went for the childish insults here especially with the "I hope you die" part. Thats just too much, man.

posted a message on Permanent Side Effects?
Heh. I like hardcore and I'd play hardcore, but include something like that and I'm out. That sounds horribly lame. There is absolutely nothing fun in getting hits and losing stats permanently, even less when thats every hit from that monster.

Besides this has nothing to do with adding tactics to the game. You could have semi-permanent buffs instead, something that requires going back to town to heal (assuming town portals are out). A lot of debuffs could add tactics, a lot of special attacks from enemies can add tactics, etc. Permanent stat lost is far from tactical to me. Its just too punishing for too little.

    Seriously, guys.

posted a message on Limitations of loot on different settings?
Making anything like that is lame. You play SP only? Screw you, you won't get all items. Or you need to play HC to get the best items? Bullshit.

Same as PvE or PvP. You NEED to play PvP to get some items? And if this follows the retarded WoW trends of having certain very good items for PvE only obtainable in PvP, it gets worse.

I don't disagree with giving the PvP folks a way to gain money or something just by doing PvP, but exclusive gear for different "settings" is a no from me.

Well, I'd just be glad if thats over because I'm quite tired of this. Maybe I'm just stupid, but I really don't get you anymore. Doesn't really matter. I might just hold my breath next time I see you throw something rude at someone, just so I don't get in a discussion like that again. Its too much for my young brain, you see.

You actually deleted the profile comment I left for you. Lol!
Can't handle truth and honesty no more?
Grow up kid and when you get some time, try to see if you can manage to understand what the word is respect is about.
You got an attitude problem and you want to put me in the same boat as you because I can actually reply to you? I guess you are not used to it. Ya other people can be pretty honest and straightforward too, you know.
You are too used to whining. Please don't cry.

Oh geeze, yes I deleted an insulting profile comment because thats suited for a PM, I don't exactly want to see your ass there with a post as such in there. Its like putting a poster up on the wall to tell a guy what you think of him.

Anyway, whatever man. Calling me kids, still keeping up the attitude. I'm all fine with everyone else being honest and straightforward, thats what I want. All I see is one guy somehow trying to stand up for god knows what, pretending he knows more than others, pretending you know respect and I don't. I don't remember saying you didn't know what respect was either. All I can see is pretension.

And sorry for all that off topicness to the TC.

Sigh. Potions and TPs are part of the game but that doesn't make them less of a bad or "cheap" feature. And I love D2 too, so what, I love a game with cheap stuff. What the fuck kind of argument is that? TPs can abused to hell, you can keep coming back to the same boss a thousand times to kill him if you need to, you can go back to town and get healed/fill up those precious potions fast. Potions ruins the concept of actually having a -resource- in combat (mana). I'm not getting into the health potions.

Now I have no idea why the fuck moderators don't take care of the stupid trolls like you, I got banned for less before. Just show some respect or shut the hell up, so we can actually get a decent discussion when there is ever one available around here.

    This is soooooo touching darling.

If you love a game with so many cheap stuffs, what does that say about your tastes, huh?
Let's leave that aside, shall we? Let's get some constructive argument going, so you don't have to act like a complete jackass when you never been addressed.

They are part of the game. They are used regularly. And nobody has talked of a patch about fixing that. I don't know if there are mods where TPs and potions do not exist...
So basically what you and some gamers want to say- oh man, we are so good we don't need TPs and potions. Look at all those noobs using TPs and potions.
    Get real dumbass.

Huh. Alright. Sorry, I had no idea how low you could go with your words. You also put quite a few words into my mouth. Also, your shit is addressed to whomever read this. This is a public forum, not some private 1on1 place where you can throw any words at someone and no one will know.

Whats hard about respect you don't understand? And yes, I'm speaking about respect, -and- I'm not showing any to you, because of you're acting, because you don't deserve any from that. If I deserve respect or not from you at this point either... I probably don't and I don't care, but seriously, what the hell is your problem? The moment ital answered you, you acted like a dick. Thats all I saw. Why? I don't think you're unaware of what respect is, but you're not showing any.

So politely or not, lets get on with what you said... "They are part of the game. They are used regularly. And nobody has talked of a patch about fixing that." You're right. That has nothing to do with how cheap they are. I live with the cheap elements because there's so much more to this game than that, and its not so bad, but I do wish these things were different. Thats the kind of reasons why this game is not PERFECT, but I can still love the whole thing.

So my "tastes" are fine, thank you. Lastly, "Look at all those noobs using TPs and potions"... Did I ever say anything like that? Did anyone here did? Thats the "putting words into my mouth" part. You're exaggerating. Its cheap, etc, etc, no one said its not part of the game, and no one said I consider people using it "lame" or "stupid" or "noobs".

I do try sometimes to play without them, because thats a thing I do (mostly without potions).. I do it for myself, for my own fun, because I like it... and yes, completing the game like that is pretty much impossible... so where your other arguments came from, I have no idea.

And by the way, you're obviously in front of someone with an attitude problem (me), and you're obviously showing one, too. I'm standing on my point that you shouldn't be already on the "offensive crap and semi-insulting" attitude or whatever, when there's no need for it.

posted a message on Hardcore character switch
I won't be speaking for anybody else, but I personally couldn't give less of a damn about how good my character is compared to anybody else (ladders might as well not exist for me).

If I play hardcore, I play for the thrill, the feeling you get when you barely escape death, etc. Knowing that my death is not a permanent one takes from that feeling, even if I can decide -myself- to just delete him at that point. But the option exist and always existed just for that. No one should be playing hardcore if they don't want to risk losing the character.

I do have a lot of games where I "fake" hardcore, that is I just -delete- my game or my saves when I die, but I say the feeling is better when you know you can't -cheat- your way out.
