Most of your assumptions are wrong. Feel free to use ScyberDragon's Diablo III F.A.Q.'s or my Things we know about Diablo III - updated for information on the game features.

ScyberDragon posted a message on Still a bit confused on stabilizing economy without ladderlong story short, crafting/salvaging and gold sinks.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Crafting and salvaging help pull items from the economy. Really rare items will have to be destroyed in order to get the materials to craft other items.
There were not many viable gold sinks in D2 except gambling so people could hold onto gold. This will not be the case in D3.
Otherwise we do not know much else about how they plan on handling the economy. You can read Don_G's article for some insight though: http://www.diablofans.com/topic/17929-forget-recession-its-a-boom-of-the-diablo-economy/ -

Winged posted a message on Still a bit confused on stabilizing economy without ladderThe development team has been working on the economy for a long time. Many item, and gold sinks are in place to slow the inevitable decrease in item and gold values. Gold Sinks such as durability repairs, enchantments, socketing, removing runes, or gems from items, crafting, salvaging, and more will likely keep gold in check for a long time. Item Sinks are a little less straight forward, features like salvaging will aid in this aspect. If the item to gold value is balanced enough, maybe sometimes it will be worth it to sale an item to an NPC for gold.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
An idea that's been floating around in my head has been a weekly, or monthly "Fire Sale" of sorts where you can sell items to a certain NPC for a higher value than normal for a short period of time. Making selling even high tier items a possible good choice. This same concept could also manifest in the form of rare wondering NPCs which will buy your items for a higher price than common NPCs in town. -

Not this again. While I don't mind the darker color pallet on the right side screens, I hate all that gratuitous grain slapped on there just to make it look more gritty. Seriously man, these screens were shown when the game was first announced and people for the most part have come to terms or have openly embraced the way the game looks.
Your thread will probably be merged into one of the several old threads people made complaining about the game's art direction. -

The details on gameplay and mutliplayer are still forthcoming. In regards to gameplay, you go around collecting these sort of ribbon looking cards that increase your power to move about. So at first you are more confined to just walking but then you unlock more powers, apparently, as you unravel the physical obstacles that keep you from reaching your ultimate goal which seems to be some brightly lit building on the horizon.Posted in: Other Games
Multiplayer as far as I can tell doesn't do an awful lot except for having more than one player in the same world. So you might encounter other players who have unlocked more powers than you and can reach more areas. You can see how far a player has advanced by the length of that scarf thing you wear and the patterns on your cloak. They talk about this in that Giantbomb video I linked to.
And the game is still in a beta stage so maybe there's a lot more to come with it. But it's an indie game regardless so one can't expect too much but it still looks fun to me. -

PhrozenDragon posted a message on Diablo 3 Lore QuestionWell, it's a problem of the first cause: what created Diablo -> what created Diablo's creator -> what created Diablo's creator's creator etc...Posted in: Lore & Storyline
At some point any writer has to create an arbitrary point beyond which no further explanations are ever made. In the Diablo universe, that's the moment the universe (including Heaven and Hell) were created, and the first demons and angels were created along with it. Maybe Diablo was one of those first demons along with his brothers, wee really don't know. In any case, no hint is ever given of any demon that could have created them.
It's kind of assumed that they've always been there, but you're right in that it's never actually explained in any detail.Quote from Siaynoq
There may be more of an explanation in the books, but I've read most of them and I don't recall a specific mention of how the Prime Evils were created. I just sort of thought of them as always being there because they are timeless.
Indeed you can, they're specifically stated to have been opposites since the very beginning of creation. Of course you could imagine that there was some unified existence before creation which ruptured or similar, thus creating the division between Heaven and Hell that is the defining factor of the Diablo Universe. But that speculative discussion is about as likely to generate any fruit as a similar discussion about the beginnings of our own universe.Quote from Siaynoq
I've even wondered if the High Heavens and Burning Hells were once the same place, and the moment it fractured, the Great Conflict began and powerful demons and angels began to rise in power. But I think you can probably find a reference that says to the contrary of this theory. That since the beginning of time they were two separate places. -

TheWeirdOne posted a message on D3 items look really lamePosted in: Diablo III General DiscussionQuote from paroxysm2010
Your all tripping, the items REALLY do not look that impressive, your just for lack of a better description, diablo whipped, and you would pretty much love anything they throw at you,
look REAL close at the items, they are ok ya, nothing to throw a hissy fit about, but seriously not that impressive, I know 15 year olds who can draw armor/weapons that would blow those away
You see there is this thing, it's called an opinion. People tend to have different ones. Now, this opinion thing varies very widely between person to person, and most of the time a lot of people disagree about something. Just because they disagree though it does not necessarily mean they are wrong. Now remember, opinions are something we all have, and in things like aesthetic appeal, it's very hard to say someone is wrong when they disagree with you.
I just thought you should know what an opinion is since you obviously have no idea how they work. -

Daemaro posted a message on Rune Effects - Leap Attackseeing how strategy is supposed to be more important a taunt one would be cool, when you land all monsters within a x radius focus attacks on you, would be good to save a friends life. The radius could increase with rune levels. Doubt it'll happen but it'd be kinda cool.Posted in: Barbarian: Bastion's Keep
When the barbarian lands all enemies flee in terror for a short time. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

It's kind of a sad day for honest gaming (which really was rare even in D2, so people should stop pretending like this hasn't happened before - maybe this means 0% chance of duping, bots and any hacks at all).
I wish they'd at least put a big huge "tag" on stuff "bought" from the action house with real money. I mean, I absolutely do. Should be like getting that lvl 99 Mewtwo pokemon from someone else, it will always have their name - it's not shameful, if they were bad enough at the game to buy stuff ready for them with real life money instead of "game currency".
I'd ignore half of the issues this will bring if I could proudly carry a big "I got my own items" Flag on everything that I got myself (or at least without real life money).

Also, at least he told us his computer has a problem and gave us a heads-up instead of lefting us in the dark =] so guess we'll just have to wait.
