I'll use the gold-AH to buy stuff at first, when I find useful stuff that can speed my first playthrough and sell stuff until there's plenty of gold in the economy.
I'll use the realmoney-AH to sell stuff and get some positive e-balance in order to buy stuff later when I reach a point where getting a specific item can take hours.
I don't think I'll have to spend any real-life money to get the stuff I want as long as I can take advantage of the economy and sell the stuff I find very well (aka make lots of money out of stuff that people really want). -
Jul 15, 2011Zero(pS) posted a message on ALTernate Styles of LootingI'd probably use the default option and see how it feels in the beginning. I mean you can judge whether you want to pick an item up on the fly on those "10 seconds" or so when it appears, and then you can always check it back if you're not sure.Posted in: News
Then again, maybe you just wanna keep fighting for 2 minutes in a row, destroy everything in a room, and then come back and check the loot, that would fit my playstyle too (if it doesn't take too long to do it instead of just go picking stuff up) - maybe then I might switch to "toggle" mode. -

I'm even against the more acceptable option that is "Vanity Items", I wouldn't like to see people with great looking stuff just because they have another 50 bucks in real life to waste looking better than anyone, who gave their blood to gather top tier gear and even dyes for them.
It's all preference though, but I'd like to reinforce a big huge "NO" to anything that affects gameplay. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

That would be absolutelly awesome =D I'd certainly buy it, but would also buy a "normal copy", so I could never open the Collector's Edition.. maybe even keep it in a safe..

I'm always looking for a different take on Diablo 2, having played all classes with most possible builds...
Even though some of them I just played through normal, it's kinda boring playing through Nightmare and Hell when you pretty much know which monsters are gonna own you, and which ones you'll rape (after defeating Hell solo twice with a Barbarian and a Necromancer..)
EDIT:
Also, by the way, is the Eastern Sun mod compatible with D2 1.12 ? Cause if it isn't I'm not even going to bother =) Thnx in advance..

I think it would be quite entertaining..

I really don't like STEAM and I'd rather have a box (if possible a collector's edition one) with my game, but only if the game has a worldwide-release date!!! don't wanna be able to play 3 months after release only..

plus, the fact that they don't reveal a lot is, imho, plain disrespect for the fanbase/community they have (which is by the way what made them what they are nowadays) - at least in alpha-development phase

leave the super-duper-mega-unique 200-on-the-entire-server items to chance and there goes balance out of the window...
I'd really like to see at least 30% of the uniques in the game drop on my 1st play through, because it's not the fact that you have that unique, its the "Unique Combination of its Very Good and Useful Stats" that should be tactically-chosen...
Magic and Rare items have random magic stats, sometimes they are really good, AND it's probably a one-of-a-kind in the entire server, since the chance of anyone having the same mods is 1/10000000000 -> uniques shouldn't be like Rares, just harder to "find"..
the "finding" mechanic really bugs me as well, it's a pain in the ass to play a 5-6 hour diablo session and not finding a goodamn unique/useful item (even with big magic-find and multiple boss runs!!!) -> and trust it, it has happened to me ??

Anyways, I've created this topic to suggest that we make a "petition" (omg, not again!!) asking that they let anyone with Blizzard Cd-keys to post on the Diablo 3 General Discussion on the Blizzard Forums..
Personally, I want this cause I've lost my Diablo 2 cd-key years ago and am not willing to buy another copy just to play it online or posting in the forums =/
A cd-key generator will suffice for now, since I can play through direct IP with my friends and make Lan-parties anyways.. But I'd like to be able to post my thoughts on the official forum (not that this one is not enough =D)...
If repliers support this idea, and the forum mods too, then I think there's a slight chance that they let people like me (which still have the warcraft 3 cd-key) post in the Diablo 3 forums..
please, constructive comments? =)

It lets you use "early" skills and not invest all points into lvl-30 skills only..
The PvP in Diablo 2 was never balanced enough.. This is a game design problem, and also, Diablo 2 was never designed for PvP (consider just how much they've changed it since day 1), it's focus being mostly single player and cooperative play..
just my 2 cents..

I'd like to know, has anyone here tried the MedianXL mod yet (v 1.99d)?
because, man, he's added a lot of cool new things to diablo 2!!!
achievement skills... a lote of new horadric recipes... new item system.. new skill system (with synergy not breaking everything)... different monsters spawning in different areas.. more team-oriented gameplay..
I didn't play D2 for about 3 years, but I've learned from this mod from a friend of mine and it really makes the experience fresh again!
If you've played already, let me hear (well, actually, read) your thoughts and if you haven't, and want a fresh take on D2, take a look =)
