Jan 21, 2010snillum101 posted a message on Speculation: Will We Fight Angels in Diablo III?I remember that Tyrael said that many angels and mortals had died to protect the Pandemonium Fortress. I'd just like to believe that Heaven would not forget how mortals have helped them in the past.Posted in: News

It would make for some interesting bosses/monsters.Posted in: News

Nov 15, 2009snillum101 posted a message on Where Will Tar Pits Fit In?Speaking as a student of geology a tar pit can occur anywhere in any setting as it depends on the subterranean structure and not on the outside environment. So they could conceivably put one in any of the already announced acts.Posted in: News
Personally I think that aesthetically it would fit nicely in the desert setting. -

Apr 29, 2009snillum101 posted a message on How Long Is Too Long For Game Development?I think we're just going to have to accept that Blizzard is like what insurance companies call "acts of god"... You can't predict them, you can't control them and your usualy not insured against themPosted in: News
But one thing is for sure when one does happen it will be when we least expect it. -
Apr 28, 2009snillum101 posted a message on How Long Is Too Long For Game Development?I think also its easier for them to make WoW expansions because the framework is already there they just have to build on it. With D3 its like starting from scratch. But for the most part I agree with Airandius.Posted in: News

Apr 28, 2009snillum101 posted a message on How Long Is Too Long For Game Development?I think thats quite a harsh way of looking at it. Yes Blizzard wants to make a profit but at the same time I think the developers must have a little bit of care for the fans or they wouldn't spend so much efort in talking to us on the forums etc.Posted in: News
I find it hard to belive that the people who work on the game don't care about what the fan base thinks or how they're making us feel. The company as a whole may not care personaly but I think the individuals who make it must do in order to do such a great job. -
Apr 27, 2009snillum101 posted a message on Diablo 3 Difficulty LevelsI think what would make most sense would be to follow in the footsteps of D2 and make a game that can be completed with "reletive" ease on normal, but has options for harder levels of difficulty for people who want it. I dont think that just becuase some people want a harder difficulty level means the whole game has to be like that.Posted in: News
Also Blizzard has to market the game to a fairly wide audiance if they are to make a substantial profit. This means that they have to satisfy the fan base (us) and the person who buys the game in the shop because he likes the look of the logo. The sign of a good game is one that appeals to the wider "casual" gamer but still contains depth and quality (like D2). - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Melee can be very satisfying as others have said.

I don't think that blizz will make a game that you have to play on a gaming pc in order not to have any lag. Some people myself included cannot afford to have a PC with water cooling and 2 dedicated GFX cards. If your laptop is like ancient, from the late 90's or something then you might have trouble but I'm sure there will be many graphics options to turn off or on as your rig permits.
A good example is the Star Trek online game that has an option to halve the resolution. This (for me) massively increases performance and I had almost no lag at all.
In answer to Agent101's question, I think that you may need a little more space than that to comfortably install any modern game and not have your OS drive tell you its full all the time. If you can afford it I would suggest upgrading your hard drive or buying a cheap external and moving some data over to that.

Meh...
Anyhoo, I think that the model whatever it is, looks cool

Seriously though I think that sometimes us fans can be a little too rabid in our decrying of D3 before its been released, and sometimes overly harsh on blizz employees when they've obviously worked very hard on something and we instantly say its rubbish. (btw I don't think anything like that happened in this thread at all, I'm just talking generally, mainly about people who flame on teh battlenet forum for example)
I think we should all just sit with stupid grins on our faces being pleased that D3 is being made at all, and trusting blizzard to do a good job.

Harsh.

I sure hope that you'll be able to run it because if you can't then I'm not sure if I'll be able to either!

I think its highly possible that blizzard did initially intend to release Diablo 3 earlier (even if they say they did not). Otherwise why would they announce a game sooo far from its release date? I think the global economic climate forced them to put it back for a later release to avoid making a loss on something that has the potential to be a big money spinner. This could be the reason why SC2 has seen some delays as well.
I do believe that they have every artistic right to take as long as they've want to make/polish any game that they produce, otherwise it would be like some other games companies that squeeze out games as fast as they possibly can with awful results.

I'm not sure about the 5th class it entirely depends whether its a Bard or not Which doctor might be fun to play but I want a run-through first with a melee character.
Not interested at all in the monk. Just doesn't do it for me baby...

They are on the same medium, but PC's have the hard drive to store data on while consoles are all on the one disc. I agree PS3's and bluray disks are nice if you can afford them. You have more potential data storage on a PC as the game is stored on the hard drive not the DVD, so multiple game disks = bigger games.

I agree with you about the consoles being a very important part of the games industry. They are very popular because they are relatively cheap (compared to gaming PC's) and offer a slightly easier option to all the problems people get with operating systems, system requirements etc.
Having said that I think you are rather missing the point with your post. There are many games that have suffered as a result of being made for a console first and PC second. Take Oblivion for example, the UI was a bit of a mess because it was made for the XBox first and PC seccond. Mass effect was much shorter than it should have been because it all had to fit on one console disk. I'm not saying consoles are rubbish I'm saying if you have a game like Diablo 3 its important to make it for the PC first and THEN simplify it for the consoles later.
There are also more ways of measuring success than money alone Diablo 2 was hugely successful but I'm sure it didn't rake in as much money as Modern Warfare 2 on its first day.

lolz
I don't care if Blizzard puts Diablo on a console, if it was primarily for the console then clumsily ported to the PC then I would be mad...
