    The MF cap isn't 300?

posted a message on 1.04 less gear dependant class?
WD was fifth character I leveled to 60. He was the first I got to Act 3 using only cheap vit, int, life regen, damage reflect gear. My wizard was my first character, is pimped out with +life on hit, +AP on crit, tons of crit, +crit damage, can't complete Act 2.

Barbs are expensive as hell to get REALLY geared, but it's amazing how many cheap weapons there are with tons of +life on hit and either a socket or crit damage. If you just get over 30-35% crit you can progress, no matter your DPS.

Belial I understand but I also don't understand Azmodan being on there seeing as he's the easiest boss in the game.

It's obvious why act 1 mobs kill more players in Inferno than any other... most people don't get past act 1 Inferno in hardcore. If those are rares they are just as deadly as any other if you're not prepared.

posted a message on Gold making
My largest chunk of cash came in one item, two transactions. I had been playing for a while (more than 2 60s...) and had never had more than 1 million banked. I was looking at monk weapons and saw one fist weapon with > 60 life healed per point of spirit spent and > 2 spirit / second regen that was only at 500,000 gold buyout, every other one around it was 3.5-5 million. I bought it and immediately put it up for 3.5 mil and sold it in 10 minutes.

Since then I've easily bought and sold a few million gold worth. Once you have gold, it's a LOT easier to make more, but getting that first few million was a pain in the ass for me. I was VERY unlucky with drops pre 1.04 and since have gotten much better drops, but that's just as much the patch as anything.

is mana regen necessary? i mean i know its kinda situational i guess but i know those only come from ceremonial knives..... i would love to have a character that runs with a full set like zunimassa or whatever.... i think that would be awesome but ppl are retarded with prices. so no critical hit/damage? i really want to like stay in character i guess u could say with a ceremonial knife and headress but i see a ot of ppl using spears. guess they are cheaper with higher dps? also what follower? i see alot pf ppl using scoundrel and i wondered y not templar to help keep monsters off of u?? thanks!!!!

A lot of builds use high mana spending AOE abilities. Is mana regen completely necessary? Maybe not, but having it will increase your damage, so it's definitely a perk. Keep in mind 10 mana regen is about a 20% increase in regen, so 20% more big spells cast.

Templar monster agro is pretty weak really, most monsters just run right past him towards you, while a scoundrel with a cold bow specced into multishot will slow groups down heavily. Also, the crit boost, at least to me, is worth 3-4K character damage.

I think you basically go Scoundrel if you like to kite, or Enchantress if you tank. Are any classes really making use of Templar? At this point in gearing he seems real weak as it's Damage vs. Armor / damage vs. negligible resource regen.

My templar on my WD has 48.5% dodge, 73k hp, so he almost never dies and even though I have > 2k life regen his heals are still really useful. There have been times my dogs and gargantuan all died to desecrator or who knows what and he was the only thing tanking an elite pack for me. He's a straight balla.

Edit: Oh but yes a LOT of times monsters run right past him. That's why I gave him chance to freeze ;)

You need a bit more crit chance and a ton more crit damage. For sure you need a weapon, preferably with the crit damage on there AND a socket, but at least a socket so you can gem it in, that would double that stat immediately. Helm could use a socket and higher crit. Gloves are an easy replacement, should be able to get 7%+ crit chance and more crit damage than that. That's a decent xbow for sure, but some stats other than straight damage would help a lot.

    Would be awesome for followers.

My templar is currently sitting at 48.5% dodge and 73k hp. If only his resists were at 600+, too!

I dont understand trading off the AH. Why do it?

15% of 200 million is 30 million gold lost by selling on the AH. You want to give him 30 million so he can sell it on there? Be my guest.

    SPOILER: WARNING: DANGER WILL ROBINSON:

If you buy so much gear that you're sitting there at 800+ all res, 2000 LOH, 40% crit and 300% crit damage, guess what? You probably won't ever find an upgrade. It's statistically unlikely to ever get drops as good as the great items you see on the AH. As of this time I've seen ONE item over 1k DPS drop, a blue 2 hander. The millions of people playing plus the AH makes for a gear filter. Only the best stuff gets on there.

Here's a hint: if you don't buy so much gear, you will find upgrades. I mainly farm inferno act 1 on my wizard while I level each other class to 60. Once everyone's at 60 I constantly find items on my wizard and say "Wow! That's great for my fresh 60 monk!"

People constantly underestimate how hard it was to farm Hell in D2 on a fresh character, especially pre-LOD. Look at the proportion of people farming Inferno D3 and compare that to D2's playerbase farming Hell this far into release and I am willing to bet a lot more people are in Inferno.

You do NOT need to buy any gear to get to Inferno. My first character a wizard I did run into a brick wall first on Rakanoth and then Diablo in Hell, but I overcame them eventually. Act 1 Inferno is not much harder than Hell A4, at least not the start. I was still using Leoric's Crown that I found in normal Act 3 when I got to Inferno... I definitely found an upgrade pretty quick.

    Conclusion:
If your goal playing this game was to find items and have fun doing so, why did you buy gear on the AH?

Take responsibility for your actions. Want to have fun finding items again? Go to the AH and buy gear for every slot with a max price of 4-5k gold. Hell you might have to bump it down to 3k. Force yourself to play with this gear and find upgrades on your own.

Already played it, it's so linear and awful. There's also zero combat depth. Your skills are based on gems you socket into items, and so you pretty much end up spamming the same skills over and over, like Diablo 2. Even more frustrating when you find a great item... but the socket is the wrong color for the gem of the skill you've been using (or any gems you have/want to use). Imagine if Diablo 3 items had separate sockets for amethysts, topaz, rubies, and emeralds.

The story is that you are literally going up a path, and you're an exile. SPOILERS OMAGAHD

Whats the use of the monks ability to get the resistance for the highest resistence type for every resistance, if u got items with resist all?

If you can get 80 resist all and 60 fire resist that gives you 140 all resist with that ability
