Pylons are rifts only. You should be able to go into t3, t4 easy without any sets (cookie cutter builds). Just use whatever items synergize well with each other as you collect multiple that support the same skill. You won't really be able to create your own builds without the supporting items. All of your power in d3 comes from the items. If you are looking to push into greater rifting/t6 or above, you will have a hard time without using a 6 piece set or legacy of nightmares ring set, which requires ancient gear which will be hard to farm without using 6 piece gear into the harder difficulties.
So you want there to be extract legendary power recipe to destroy items and add their power to the cube and an extract legendary power recipe to add a power from the cube to an item.... that wouldn't be confusing....
Exactly gain THE item back. The original item, not the same power on any piece of gear. You would gain the item back by infusing a regular item with that power. At least that's my interpretation of it.
It looks like you took quite a few liberties with this new recipe that was datamined. It sounds to me like it is the recipe Wyatt was referring to that was removed. Infusing the power onto an item and would likely requires white version of the original item along with some other mats to create the legendary the same manner that this "Natala" did in the he lore that was also datamined. For example you would need a white 1 handed sword, and probably bounty mats and deaths breath, maybe even a number of souls to craft this after extracting the power of it, and honestly the last thing the game needs is an easy way to gear up (providing it could roll ancient). If it could not roll ancient it would be useless.
Most of D3's problems for those that have played since vanilla and logged 1000s of hours result in a lackluster end game that always results in paragon farming to progress. This is not fun and as they made the leveling and gearing easier through power creep they removed the longevity for a lot of players. I thoroughly enjoyed d3 and played it at its worst and at its best. I just no longer have any interest in doing the same routine every season. For those that haven't played the game very much or haven't played RoS, I would still recommend Diablo 3. And I do think blizzard has done a wonderful job reworking and fine tuning the game along the way, and have provided a ridiculous amount of content post ros for no charge at all. I do not mind that the necro is paid dlc, they are a business after all. I just wish they put that time and energy into another "adventure mode" type game mode to change up the end game rather than just add a new class to run through the same content (and would be fine for that to be paid dlc or expansion).
I Honestly believe a staple feature of the Diablo franchise is being able to whine about bots on the forums and why they are what's holding *insert battle tag here* back from being able to compete on the leader boards.
