The horadric cube was tedious and unnecessary. We're just used to it so many of us don't see how it pointlessly slows things down. It shouldn't be a pain to convert gems, but many people simply avoid lower gems because of how long it takes to convert things in the cube--dragging items one by one, in and out of the box.
D3 needs two things: an instant stash-to-inventory button (and vice versa) and no cube. Crafting can be done through NPCs.
Not exactly, technology is science, science is reality. Magic is imaginary and can't be compared to something that actually exists...
And we compare them based on that they look and act the same as for example laserbeams. If the magic formed a flower shape, wouldn't we comment that it looked like a flower and want it to be changed to something cooler.
But we should remember that lasers are invisible. They travel in one direction and can therefore only be seen by someone that is looking straight into the source that must be loooking straight at the viewer. Atleast that is the case with infrared. So the whole concept of "it looks like a laserbeam" is taken straight from fiction.
Yes, magic is imaginary in our world, but not in the Diablo universe. It's very much a common natural phenomena and therefore no different from science.
Sorry, but the entire concept of magic is no different than technology--it's the manipulation of physics as a tool to use to some other end. The only difference is that technology is explained and magic is not. When magic is explained, it becomes science.
So there is no such thing as "looking" like magic.
I don't think time travel to the past is possible because in order to travel faster than light we'd have to reduce the mass of our vessel to a singularity and unless you think you can survive that, we are pretty much screwed.

Not that Bioshock was original in its concepts, but it was cool to see how the hand changed with different powers.
