    Quote from "Hooje" »
From what I've read, during gameplay at BlizzCons the cooldown was reported at 9 seconds. It isn't an instant spell a la Sorceress teleport either more of a Jump-Shift-Land kind of thing.

Right, the jump-shift-land thing was what I meant when I said it took longer to execute. But it has a 9 sec cooldown? What about the video that shows the different runes in skills? She teleports a couple times in a couple seconds with no cooldown.

Seeing as how they just tweeted, they revamped it and have a new way, it's kinda early to say what you think it will be. Should be what you want it to be.

I would like to see npcs in the wilderness that you can only deal with if you save them. Like said before, it's unlikely to see someone just chilling right by monsters not getting attacked. So you come upon them, and they are being chased by a group of monsters. If you kill the monsters before they kill him, you can deal with him. But if he dies, you lost the chance. Kind of like a side quest that gets sprung on you all at once and you have to complete right then and there. And make it so they have a possibility to be carrying something really nice or rare, so it's worth trying to save them every time.

Teleport doesn't have a cooldown, does it? Doesn't it just take longer to execute, so it can't be spammed so fast?

posted a message on How will you play?
I haven't decided whether or not I want to play through it by myself for a bit, but either way I'll make it on multiplayer, and if I wanna play solo, I'll password it. But I likely will play with others so we can discuss the amazement we feel with each other while playing.

For class, it will probably be battlemaster barb first, but depends on last class.

OK, thinking about experiencing it for the first time has gotten me all depressed, I'm gonna think about something else for a while...

    Summary :

    Ice behavior : slow
Ice critical : ? (freeze(less physical damage when freezed(normal or more magical damage when freezed)))

    Lightning behavior : nothing
Lightning critical : stun (normal physical and magical damage when stunned)

    Poison behavior : DoT
Poison critical : ? (all damage supposed to do in x second is done instantly + the supposed damage over x second (or decrease health by a %))

Fire behavior : nothing (maybe AoE)
    Fire critical : AoT

Arcane behavior : ? (chance to silence)
Arcane critical : ? (more chance to silence)
I think about something that arcane can do, decrease temporary resistances. I think it's would be great, add gameplay and it's something different of others elements.

Are you saying this is what D3 will use, or what you think it should use? Because that is not how it is, as far as the info we have available to us. You got most of it right, only a few changes.

Ice crit won't freeze, I'm pretty sure I read there won't be a frozen solid state, so ice crit will likely just slow the enemy more.

Poison crit I have not heard about. I think your idea of all the poison damage instantly would be a bit OP, as poison damage usually has a very high DoT. I would like to see poison crit do something along the lines of doing twice the amount of DPS for a few seconds.

Fire, I'm assuming you meant DoT not AoT

Arcane normally doesn't have a chance to silence, but a critical hit will always result in the target being silenced.

And I don't recall hearing about whether or not enemies will take more/less damage when slowed/stunned. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Look at the difference in the swords! Look at that huge-ass wow sword and tell me that it looks anything like the D3 sword. Look at the bright blue sky in wow. Look at ANYTHING in that wow shot and compare it to D3. Big shoulder pads? That's your argument? The wow pauldrons are twice the size of the D3 ones.

Seriously... Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and all... But seriously...

posted a message on More Hopes Dashed, 1.13 Delay Going Strong
As angry as I am am about all the delays with the next patch and D3, I keep telling myself to remember Fable.

I followed Fable for YEARS, thinking about how awesome it was gonna be. When it finally came out... it sucked. Hard. Maybe to some people that hadn't followed it from it's infant stages it seemed like a good game. But if you went back and looked at what it was supposed to be, it just flat out wasn't. Why? Because they realized that what they had promised would take a looong time to do right. Instead of pushing the release date back and working to release their vision in all it's glory, they chopped the game to hell, and released the aborted version. Look up Project Ego (Fable's original name) and see what I mean. It will anger you.

That being said, I agree that Blizzard just creates hype then leaves us in the dark, but I just tell myself to be patient. If they release it too soon, it will be like Fable and fall into obscurity. No one wants that. I want a game that will be fun to play years from now, not some crap slapped together to make a deadline. It will be worth it in the end...

    Quote from "Esedo" »
Ok guys heres a topic. my friend plays a frenzy-warcry barb and i play ww barb. so hes like couple lvls bigger than me (just cuz i have to work :P) and he keeps saying frenzy is better, faster...etc.. i dunno it looks kind of cool esp when he lvld his frenzy to 23 lvl using +to barb and combat skills.. he keeps telling me to try it out because its better. can anyone confirm that frenzy can own more than ww or are they at least equal?

If made right a ww barb would tear him up before he even got close. He's using frenzy, which means no shield, which is tough to pull off in high lvl duels. He comes at you, and if you tri-ww around him, he should have a hard time touching you, while you eat him alive. Don't ww straight through him, that gives him a chance to hit you.

They should make "Devestate" for the battlemaster tree so you will run and bash enemies with your shield :D

Yeah, like charge up to an enemy and smack it with your shield, flinging it back. Then, while he is stunned, jump at him with your sword/axe/whatever and rip him up. Then back to shield and just back and forth while you hold it.

I would prefer to have both. Whirlwind for quick light hits, and devastate for big hits at lower frequency. They are both cool in their own way.

Yeah, I was kinda thinking the same thing. WW is in berserk tree correct? Maybe a devastate-like skill would be in battlemaster or juggernaut.

unlike monk, Exorcist focus on holy magic, some holy summon, and maybe buffing skills! i personally think that it would be cool. and besides, Exorcists are kinda scary too, lol.

They won't add a second holy-based class. Plus, exorcists banish things, they don't summon them lol.

A ranger in its normal form,

When enough monsters are killed.. He can transform into a whack demon guy that obliterates anything.

    Thoughts?

    -- Just a quick thought btw ;)

The name Demonhunter would imply he hunts demons. He would be called Demon/Hunter lol. Which all the classes are, seeing as killing demons is the point of the game.

And Blizzard has said that all the classes will be humans, so unless they drastically change something, no demons. Sorry to burst your bubble :P

    Quote from "Siima" »
Well thats a bit farfetched, but I could see the ranger build good attacks by killing monsters like barbs fury.

    This.

The ranger (or whatever) fires off a couple shots, builds up his "fury", and by the time the monsters have closed in, has enough charged up to let loose with some nasty melee attacks. Total pwnage.
