posted a message on What are Breakpoints?
So I see a LOT of talk about Breakpoints. People's first concern on their character builds are "Does it break the FHR Breakpoint, FCR Breakpoint" etc. etc.. What are Breakpoints? How do you find out what they are for each class? How do you determine how to get passed these, or whatever it is you do with them? Any help? :D

posted a message on Does ilvl affect req level?
    Quote from "PhrozenDragon" »
When you gamble, the game calcuates what items you can get based on your character level. The ilevel will appear within a span of 5 levels iirc, so at level 94 you would get an item between 89-99 I think.

The ilevel determines what mods you can get on an item; the higher it is, you get more powerful mods.

How lvlreq is calculated I actually have no idea, but they don't have to follow each other. It's not a linear connection between the two, so you're bound to get some variation. I don't gamble, so I'm not entirely sure :P

Fool's mod adds to max damage and attack rating based on character level :)

    Thanks for the answers :D

I have another question, and I don't want to make another thread.. seems like spam.
What is a "Fool's Mod"? I see people asking for that often, or making a reference to it.

No, I'm aware of the probabilities of gambling items.
I'm asking about the ilvl's of the items. Does ilvl have any affect on required levels of the items?

Can't think of a way to word it for the title..

I have a level 94 character and I like to craft items. Finding specific items can be a hassle to get a good ilvl on the item for more mods. My question is this:
If I gamble with my level 94, are the ilvl's of the items I buy roughly around my character level, regardless of the Requirement the item has?
For instance, if I buy an amulet with my level 94, and the amulet has a requirement of 7, is the ilvl still high?
Same with a high leveled item. If it's level is required 73, is its ilvl also high, or can it be low?

Just wondering to make my crafted items the best they can be.

posted a message on Trade Sub-Categories for D2.
I searched and didn't find a thread asking for this:
Can we get a sub-category for trading, and services?
Not a lot of people enjoy sitting in trade channels or making/joining trade games to get rid of their junk or other "godly" items. I think a trade channel would be amazing for when we're at work, school, or asleep. Post a thread for your ISO or LF lists and I'm sure people will come across it.
Any thoughts or opinions on this? Good idea? Bad idea? Why, or why not?

Although I've never watched it, I think for the most part that show just proves that a lot of things you learn in 5th grade are useless. If you can't remember it in the long run, it wasn't that important.

    Sweet deal. I love rules.
This is one of the only forums that I see that actually enforces them, too. On most forums, they run wild with racial slurs, persistent name calling, trolling, etc.. It's terrible.
    So... Yay!

Well, I'll just go back to my main point, then:
A hack is a hack, regardless. If Blizzard says "No" then they mean "No" not "Yes, as long as it is just for fun." Not that it would hurt, but I'm not the creators of Diablo, so I don't know what they like in their games.

these people lie to you, everyone hacks.

    That's a broken statement, too.

It depends on the nature of the hack. In this case, it gives an unfair advantage to the users over other players.

What about a "Bunny Hack" where all the fallen are instead cute little bunnies solely for the delicate girl fan-base to enjoy (not that this exists). Is it still bad? No. Why? Because it doesn't affect anyone else in any way.

Yes, it is. Because it's a Hack.
If you wanted cute little bunnies, you don't have to hack, only change some things in the Diablo file to change the image of the monster in question.
And yes, that may seem like hacking, as it's changing the files, but it's not a third party program. There are certain programs that will let you do this, and, if you ask Blizzard for permission, I'm sure they'll be fine with it. It's only texture editing, anyway. And only you will see the bunnies, no one else. Why would you want bunnies in Diablo? Beyond me.
There are other ways to go about what you want other than straight for hacks.

    Map HACK. Hacks are bad.
    Bad is hacks.
