If a Canadian citizen wins a prize they will be required to answer, unaided, a mathematical skill-testing question. If a potential winner from Canada cannot be contacted and the skill test administered within three (3) days of notification, or the question is not correctly answered, the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected.
This is ridiculous. Is this a Blizzard thing or a Canadian government thing or just what the hell is going on. Its the summer so its not like students have anything better to do.
I never took math in grade 12 and my major is in East Asian studies...I haven't done a math problem in years...

1: The red glow/outline of the monster or item that your mouse is over.
Is this really necessary? I don't know why they added this feature, it is just screen clutter and takes away from the combat and monster visuals. People already know what their mouse is hovering over
2: I noticed that when the Barbarian does his stomp that stuns enemies in a certain radius, the work "stunned" appears over each enemies' head.
This is highly unnecessary as the visual effect of the stun is quite obvious. Diablo 3 gamers do not have to have their hands held throughout the game.
My main concern with this is that it pulls you out of the visceral gaming experience. When you see the text it just reminds you that you are playing a game. This is the same for my 1st issue. Also, if they don't take this text notifying system out of the game I really hope they at least have an option for it or not. Same with the 1st issue.
Hmm it just occurred to me that perhaps they will be in the game on the 'normal' difficulty but not the more advanced ones? Either way I would like at least the option not to have these tutorial-like / notifying features.
3: This one is not nearly as big an issue to me and I'm sure they will change it, but the quest screen looks as large as the inventory and equipment screen - it takes up the whole left side of the screen.
This is also unnecessary, in my opinion. I would much a screen similar to the mini-map that can be easily viewed while playing. This keeps you in the game experience without having to pause and open a huge window all the time. However, I wouldn't mind a bigger window to read a story about the quest, pictures, etc. But for the quest essentials something smaller and more viewable while running around with a character would be an improvement, to me at least.

The same goes with the Wizard, I mean of course there will be a caster class but like Blizzard says it's focus is more on the Wizard's ability to manipulate the laws of the universe.
Slow time is the most awesome spell I have ever seen and even the others like acid, cold (which can freeze the enemy) are really cool. Games usually make the mistake of have an 'Ice' Wizard or a 'Fire' Wizard but in D3 it makes so much more sense - why shouldn't the Wizard be able to cast a variety of all different types of spells?

I'm a big fan of the Gabriel Knight series (who isn't) and I loved how they were used in those games. I think Diablo's dark theme and characters with a feel to them would make for great cinematics that would really bring out individual characters and the feel of the game.
I would really like there to be clips after entering a new city, completing a certain quest, killing a regular boss, or just traveling somewhere. I think it would add to the story and greatly improve the game.
What say you all?

omg the stone is so much better
screw those WoW theme rip offs
just revamp the stone don't bitch out on us Blizzard, it's still DIABLO not some new game you can fuck with
Oh, and just take the purple color out of the whole game. Having unique or w.e items purple is one of the worst ideas I've seen for this game. Seriously, could you be a little more creative, not to mention original?
This is just a reflection of the shitty rainbow-fairy artwork. I'm still pissed about that. The gameplay will still be good but I won't be getting shivers down my spine, or drawn into the D3 world nearly as much.

Kaputik.com reported earlier this week that a Blizzard insider had clued them in to release dates for both the online multiplayer beta on September 11 this year and the final retail release supposedly set for December 24, but Blizzard would not confirm these dates.
In response to TGR, Ryan Arbogast, Associate PR Manager at Blizzard, told us ?As for Diablo III: Blizzard has not announced a release date for Diablo III at this time.?
So it looks like Diablo fans are going to have to wait a little longer for a confirmed release date, as Blizzard looks like they?re either not willing to admit that Kaputik got their information correct, or they?re not willing to justify the rumors with a response.
Diablo III was officially announced June 28 at the 2008 Blizzard Entertainment Worldwide Invitational in Paris, France, though development began sometime in 2005 under the once ?Blizzard North? studio.
Kaputik.com also reported some alleged system requirements for the game, but they are not yet confirmed, and so far there has been no comment from Blizzard on those."

but maybe it was a leak and somewhat close to the real thing? maybe...
sigh.

Seems very suspicious though that this information was released so covertly...I would have thought Blizzard would want a lot of people to know about it right away so I'm dubious about the whole thing.
