I'm sure there's still going to be key binding. This is not a system its just an addition, something they had to fill in between the red and blue globes, thats all.

Skills works in direction of arrow. If arrow is not on screen, skill will work in the direction the player is facing. Thats how i think it will work.

    p.s.

this will come in handy for buffs and enhancements, also for some melee. Anything that is ranged is back to the right clicking :)

It will make the game much more user friendly, that is all.

If I want to cast a spell in D2, I have to select it (and remember it, annoying when you start using new binds, or if you didn't play for a while) and then click.

I can say that this, against simply taping a number on your keyboard once to activate an ability.. what is better?

The main and most important difference is that your abilities are more immediately available, and I can say for sure that it feels far, far more natural to just tap the number to execute an action, than taping to SELECT it and then use it.

In my opinion, this is an amazing change.

Same opinion. Except the "amazing" part :P

A welcome change. But need to play and see if it works well.

Anyone knows a good damage calculator?

I want to socket a Hone Sundan (104-212Dmg) (http://classic.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/exceptional/uspears.shtml)for my Might Merc. It has 3 sockets. I was wondering what will be the best combination to put some more damage on it. All the formulas are making my head spin.

    Here are my options:

    Jewels:
    1-100 lighting
    29%Ed
    36%Ed
    30%Ed +6min Dmg
    15Max Dmg +22 Lighting resist

or maybe something different i should use?

Also i wonder if it will be better than my current Great Poleax -

    I'm on SP.

Eventually i went with Mages. I figured Bone damage is quite low if not synergized. Plus, more dudes it looks massively cool :)

Farnham no doubt is the funniest. And my fav.

His "Can't a fellow drink in peace" (thats why he's saying right?) - is the most hilarious into ever! :D

Back in the day, when my english was weaker, i couldn't understand a word he was saying.

    p.s.

oh and when he tells you about the search party for Albrecht, its just heart breaking. really it is... i really do pity him.

It doesn't miss the target but against Diablo or Baal, you might as well bring a sack lunch because it will take a long time to kill them with it. Poison Nova is a great one for them, you don't have to aim, just dodge their stuff and spray them with poison. If you dump a lot into the skeli's and mage skeli's you can overwhelm Baal to the point where he can't respond with a counter attack. That is pretty cool. It doesn't work on Diablo though, his fire just takes everything out. So you have to have dexterity, stamina, fire protection, and do the fire dance with him while you pick away at him.

I don't think i'll have problems with the prime evils. In normal and nightmare i just cast Clay Golem near him and smack him with Decrepify. It takes a while to kill them though.

And I wasn't looking to use Bone Spirit against prime evils. Just against some thought bastards.

There's no monster with such Physical Immunity that Amp Damage can't break it, save for perhaps a Unique with Stoneskin I suppose.

Monster in Hell have Hp in the range of the thousands. Hell Monsters typically around 5k, but certain mosnter, such as Siege Beasts, go up around 15k.

I haven't played a Summonancer on that high lvl (yet), and certainly not on hardcore, so I don't know if it's worth bothering with. Instinctively I'd put points into Clay Golem and Mastery, but I don't know.

Well so far, i've met at least 5-6 of these uniques that my Merc could not just take them on. The only thing i could do is try to lure them near corpses and then CE them, but most of the time it only nearly killed them and then they just regenerated.

Putting points in Golems will just make them tougher, but I want is something to kill monsters faster. The only one that inflicts any serious damage is my Merc.

I was thinking droping the remaining points into skeleton mages but i think their damage will just be too low. My regular skeletons barely kill anyone on Hell.

    So i'm resurrecting this thread.

    I'm lvl 81. Have 14 unspent points.

I have CE, and of course Skellies maxed. I have some points in for Bone Armour.

I have only 1 in revive but +3 in items. 4 Revives seems, to me, more than enough. They are very stupid and have bad pathfinding. Plus they don't inflict that much damage (same as my skellies - but they move fast and good shields until my merc is coming in).
Also Attract seems to be just a waste; monsters have too much life and just too little damage. I just use Amp all the time.

Where is the best to spend these extra points?

The only thing i can see is to put more into BA synergies or Golem Mastery? or maybe put them into Bone Spirit against those annoying physical immuns?

Like some have said here, decals and body dissapearence can always be given as an option to tweak in settings. Its the same thing as draw distance, its not hard to implement.

ffs, i hate it when developers start bsing (*cough EA *cough) about that they want all computer to run the game smoothly so they working to hit the perfect middle, bla bla bla. look at the state of FIFA for PC - abosultely ridiculous, and what the excuse? "not every1 has gaming pc". I'm not saying that games need to be like Crysis, but this is too much.

Optimization is one thing, crying about not making more or less of something as an option is, imo, just lazy. From the "explanation" they gave.

    Quote from "Ivaron" »
It's still a death, it's still hardcore, end of discussion. By the way how can you say he makes a stupid mistake, then accuse other people of criticizing him? I don't get this.
Why would you need to play HC if you only want to count your deaths?

The point in HC is not to test oneself but to feel adrenaline when you play because you know you could lose something if you do it wrong. To feel truly happy about all of your accomplishments within the game, because you earned it, not because you simply tried until you finally succeeded. Without risk, there's no reward.

If the above does not apply to you, don't play hardcore. There's no need to punish yourself like that.

Exactly, i did feel the rush and adrenaline. For me this was the full HC experience.

Every time that my pool was running low my heart was racing like crazy!

I didn't know that you could resurrect, thats why i started this thread. I just thought its a shame to lose my dude thats all. I don't want to feel bad for the rest of the week so i was hoping that there is a way. I don't have the strength nor the time to start all over really.

Also if i would spend my attribute points i wouldn't be dead now :P

oh and btw, you get to have a cool red title when you play HC :D

    p.s.

Its funny you used the words "no need to punish yourself", since 3 years back i'm playing every game on the hardest difficulty, always. Many time i don't finish the game bcuz of that (just too lazy to restart a level or something). I'm a bit of a masochist i guess :/ just like to push myself... I'm thinking to play Diablo 3 on HC straight away. I know i will regret it though when my char will die :D
