I'm glad it wasn't turn-based...I probably would not have gotten into it.

posted a message on Chat Box
I was thinking it'd be cool if there was something along the lines of a chat between select users. Like if I wanted to chat with someone on my buddy list. Instead of posting on their wall or PMing and waiting for the reply or not, if they miss it before they get offline.

I imagine something similar to FB chat or gmail chat...Not a chat room.

posted a message on Torchlight Ups the Ante
I played the demo for Torchlight and from what I played it seemed like a mini-Diablo 3 or a Diablo clone (diablo walks the earth! ahhhh). I don't think Blizzard is nervous or hesitant because of Torchlight...It is plausable that they are changing some things around and that's why they haven't released content, or it might just be that they are saving stuff since there's a long way to go before D3's release. Anyway you look at it is just speculation. All we can do is wait.

...well leave the game and make a new one its not that bloody hard....at least they should give us the option to turn the hostility feature on or off when creating a game!

No it isn't too difficult. But it's a nuisance that I don't want to bother with.

I agree people should have some option to allow or not allow hostility.

    I don't play anything but Hardcore. The problem I have with people being able to just go hostile at will is that I just found it really annoying. People would join games and go hostile just to scare every1 outa the game...It just gets really old and lame to me. Plus on Hardcore mode I've got enough monsters to worry about pwning me I don't wanna worry about pkers. I think PvP is split into two groups;
1: People who want to duel, or who mutually agree to fight eachother.
2: Pkers, people who try to kill someone, who isn't trying to kill them.
I'd rather not worry about #2.

Can't they just have a check box on the game creation screen that toggles PvP on/off?

Some people, however, do want to be hunted down at random and attacked. These sorts of people might find Diablo II game content fairly easy and wish to have the additional challenge of having to fight players while they play through the game. This might seem masochistic, and the group may be small, but these people exist and should not be ignored if they can be accommodated.

I understand the point the OP is making, but really Blizzard cannot appease everyone. I think it will come down to what they (Blizzard) think the majority of people will be happy with. If I did still have to worry about people hunting me down and Pking me in HC I'd get over it and deal with it. But Blizz has positioned themselves to not add anything that hurts or hinders cooperativeness...

I do like the idea of being able to choose what type of character you are. PvP or standard, and those players being able to play together. I think that type of system would work well.

I'm interested in seeing their solution to this matter.

I started playing Oblivion the other day and I was still impressed with the grafx. Maybe they aren't the most superior out there, but for a game thats what, 3yrs or more old I'd say its good that I still take the scenic routes in the game.

On Topic: This game looks alright, but I was hoping for Multiplayer. It just doesn't interest me enough to buy it. I'm just sad that nothing will keep me interested for as long as i have to wait for D3. Guess I have to get back into D2...

For D3 I'd like to see acheivements replace the D2 ladder system.

    A Little off Topic:

I do think it'd be really sweet if there was some type of arena that would have limitless levels and just continually get harder. Perhaps they could just increase the monsters hp/dmg/immunities/etc...every couple of levels. I see it as a Diablo version of GoW's Horde. Also don't make it stop at lvl 50. Just have it go on forever. Then people are always trying to get farther. It should also keep track of what level you've reached on the arena. As some indication of each players skill/equipment/etc. This would also add to the amount of playing time. I could see myself trying to get as high as possible, then maybe going and doing 'adventures' to level up/find better gear. Then going back to the arena to try and get higher.

Or perhaps it could be some endless dungeon, that just goes farther and farther underground. And enemies get more challenging the farther you go down. But I'd really like to see it be endless because then people would always have something to try and do. "Gotta get to the next dungeon level. Or maybe make it 100 levels but you can only get to level 100 when your character is level 100....I dunno just throwin ideas out there. Sorry for the rant.

posted a message on lvl 1 barb pwned diablo and baal?
    Answer to OP:

    Attempt at Logical Reasoning:
He hasn't been fighting for what 20yrs or something. Probably forgot all that crap he learned in D2. Gotta remaster those skills...and new ones...It makes sense. If i stopped doing something for 20yrs I'd suck at it if i started doing it again.

    Other legitimate answer:

what if you play the female barb, does that mean in the 20 years between games he turned into a woman?
