amazing post i have to say, and great points. although me and my friends played d2 for years just for the gear grinding and play through. it was very fun to lay waste to monsters over and over with crazy spells and spending hours trading and mfing for the best gear, i loved doing this so d3 is MORE then enough for me to play for many many months. but for a lot of people like you said it will be like how an xbox game is, you play it through two or three times maybe and then your done, go buy another game. but as far as I'm concerned this game has everything i could of hoped for.
and they will certainly add more content, and even if its grinding content thats solo able thats fine, i can do it 5 times over with all the classes and play this and sc2 at the same time and when I've finally got the best gear for all 5 of my characters, and played a bit more THEN ill be bored, go back to some other games, and then come back to d3 like i always went back to d2 over and over again to play.
#1. That's any game.
#2. Maybe you should find another hobby.
When it comes to money, were there is a will there is a way. I think you guys give the bot creators to little credit. I give it a month or two before they have something.
I think the motivation here for the hackers will be only one thing: RMAH.
They will make pay 2 use hacks with which you can buy, get gear, sell it and get profit...
Pay 2 use hacks. LOL... If people are stupid enough to buy them they are stupid enough to have their accounts stolen or banned. I laugh at this kind of shit. You fools think that Diablo 3 contains the same security as Diablo 2? You are beyond dead wrong. Sure hacks will show up. There was always the JSP bot back in the day. Blizzard will take care of hackers and security for Diablo, /thread
This thread is useless, who cares what Sixen's opinions/views on endgame are. He is a human being like everyone else... I'm sure there's plenty of other rando's who would agree. There will never be a solid agreement. my point in all this is, Blizzard will build the game with some intake from the community, the bads QQ and want all of their casual aspects met and usually they are not. Either play the game or shut the hell up, that's my take on it.
it's a security thing so the $AH isnt taken advantage of. If there was an offline client hackers would eventually find a way to bring those chars on line and make like 10,000 a month (not saying that this still isnt a possible ammount of money to make cause it all depends on the market) But it'd be easier and rediculous if dupeing and hacking were involved.

I can't believe some people are crying about this... grow the fuck up. This is better for 95% of the player base. Blizzard can monitor things better to prevent hacks and so on. Blizzard keeps denying it, but I think the main reason is still to reduce pirating. I can't blame them at all, they spent a lot of time on this game and they want to protect it.
Lets outline some of the main crying.
"WAHH I can't play when I'm on my laptop on the road" Wifi hotspot, cell phone tethering, mobile usb stick internet. Don't have those things? Too bad.
"OMGZ constant INTERNET NOOO my data limit will get destroyed" No it wont, fools. One hour of play wont take more then 15mb of data. That is so so small of an amount.
"I'm only interested in single player, why do I have to have internet" Blizzard games have always been online focused, because its 1000000x more fun. If you don't like that, stick to Torchlight (a fun game... but gets boring fast because its just SP)
Reading some of the things on the Toms Hardware topic made me wanna rage...
New expansion = new content, old content will hopefully be replaced, maybe the next "inferno" difficulty of the expansion will be relative to the raised level cap or something.

Hopefully it would remain online only, no room for single player import/export hacks/ server intrusion etc.
