And why would these type of players even need primal ancient?
I'm not saying primal ancients is a good idea, but these kind of arguments are just as bad.
Because they would like to get those items too? Just because they don't play the game as much as the people on the leaderboards doesn't mean they should be excluded from an entire grouping of items. It is the Diablo 3 equivalent of attaching a $100 bill to a fishing pole and then jerking it away anytime someone reaches out for it. It is an insult IMO to that particular playerbase no matter how big or small that playerbase is. Lowering the GRift requirement will make them more accessible to a larger amount of players while still keeping them competitive. Not everyone is going to play the meta classes and some of the other classes have a hard time getting far in the leaderboards without an excessive amount of paragon levels.

IMO it is not about whether or not it is easy to clear a certain grift level, but whether or not people would have the time to get to the point in which they are able to do it. Not everyone who plays this game has the time to devote every season to play long periods of time to get geared really quickly and start pushing grifts. Whether it is life keeping them away, or a myriad of other online games they divide their time playing, not everyone will play Diablo 3 constantly. But gating something behind a pretty decent time commitment, you are effectively shutting out players from a good portion of gear every season who might otherwise enjoy playing them with their buddies, in the small amounts of time they might have available. Sure, given enough time, any player can be geared enough to clear a level 70 grift, but with the short lengths of seasons, and the busy nature of some people's lives, they might not get to see them drop in a season.
