Doesn't seem to be as big as it looks. Mine just jumped from 0 to 1.6GB after about 5 minutes of waiting. 330MB to go after that.

Very true, we don't know for sure. I'll just assume that is the case, that way when I can log in at midnight I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I'm not exactly worried since being on the east coast, I won't get to play til 3am anyway.

Anyone know if the Beta servers are down along with the site? At work at the moment so I can't check...

EDIT: Nevermind, the site's back up.

I haven't played all the classes in beta yet, pretty much just been working on my wizard (grinding for training pages and such). Thus, so far my favorite skill is Disintegrate. I call it my Burning Laser Beam of DOOM.

Alright so in case anyone cares, as it turns out you don't need a D3 character to start posting on the official forums. Not sure how long it took exactly but I checked around 3am last night and there was a D3BETA entry in my character list. When you click that you have to make a temporary nickname to use on the forums.

As a side note, I've now played the beta for an hour and a half or so and I'm loving it. Admittedly, the combat feels a little bit Torchlight'ish, but much improved upon. Things are crazy easy at first but do start to get tougher as you play through. Another all night shift tonight and then, hopefully, I'll be able to take on the Skeleton King in the morning.

So I got a beta key in the facebook sweepstakes, activated it and am now downloading the game client. I went over to the official forums and it seems to be still using my expired WoW account. Anyone know if it just takes a while to activate, or will I need to create a D3 character first?

I honestly can't believe it I actually won something. Checked my mail after reading this thread and there was my beta key. Thank you Blizzard, Thank you!!

Key was legit too, downloading/installing now. Unfortunately won't get to play tonight, have to leave for work in an hour.

Haha, posting from work so I was forced to type it all out. Ended up spending a bit more than I wanted to on it (built it back in March), but it was insurance money so I didn't really care.

I don't remember the exact model numbers from the parts, but this should at least give a general idea.

MB: Gigabyte G1.Sniper (Bigfoot Killer NIC + SB X-Fi onboard)
CPU: Intel Core i7 960 @ 3.2GHz (not currently overclocked)
MEM: Corsair Dominator 6GB DDR3-1600MHz Triple-Channel
GFX: Gigabyte Super-Overclock Series, GeForce GTX 470 w/ 1280MB
SSD: Crucial 128GB SATA3 (approx 132MB/s read & 125MB/s write ... as far as I remember, could be off)
HDD: WD 2TB USB3 External (transfer of 32GB file from SSD to this drive was about 90MB/s)
OPT: LG Blu-Ray Recorder w/ Lightscribe (can't remember Speed)
OPT: LG DVD Recorder (speed doesn't really matter here anymore)

Currently playing The Witcher 2 @ 1360x768 on Ultra near flawlessly. Can't say exact framerates because I don't have fraps installed but, again, near perfect. I think I'll be set for D3.

The best if it be cross platform game and using 1 account as well, so u could use pc or console at any time, like your Wife//parents etc. watching movie on TV u can always use your PC

I wonder if they could manage a cross platform auction house.

I would think this would be quite easy to set up considering everything online about the game is handled through battle.net. I'd love to see cross platform multiplayer.
