posted a message on Thorns/Akkhan Blessed Shield build...100% damage reduction???

No, damage reduction is multiplicative not additive. So you take 50% less damage, then 50% of that

posted a message on Legendary gem help for my hammerdin

I use gogok, Taeguk, and Trapped and have cleared a 57 with my sader. So far I've been happy with gogok which I like more for the cooldown than the IAS. But I'm not ruling out changing it in the future if I need to, like when Stricken comes off seasons.

posted a message on My new build. Tell me if it needs work.

The biggest problem I see is that there seems to be a huge lack of survivability. Holy Cause is terrible for this build because your only Holy damage is Falling Sword which you won't be able to cast fast enough to make it matter. I guess you could change your hammer rune to Holy, but even if you have a million life, that's only 9K per hit, pretty awful. The 10% damage buff is nice, but you will get a lot more mileage both damage and defense wise out of Finery. I know you are using the belt that casts Judgement, but again you won't be able to cast FS enough to make it a reliable source of damage reduction.

Speaking of hammers, why are you using Thunderstruck here instead of Limitless? And why are you using Steed charge? If it's for escape you are much better off taking Iron Skin Flash as it provides a defensive bonus as well. And under no circumstances should you ever consider dropping AC from this build. It doesn't have the toughness to survive without it.

Yes Flurry will proc Strong Arm's but again you won't be able to cast it enough to keep everything you are attacking debuffed.

On Gems, Pain enhancer is not very good for Hammerdins. The IAS is not needed and the damage is terrible compared to a buff like Bane of the Trapped.

I'd rather use Too scared to run on Provoke, but you are really only looking for wrath regen with it so it's not as big of a deal.

Finally, what Grift have you cleared with this?

posted a message on Sader armor stacking

Well the biggest two problems I see are that you are missing Indestructible, which is basically required for high level Grifts. Also you miss out on huge amounts of damage from Bastions. Besides that it's not terrible, but I've achieved similar toughness numbers without stacking armor so it's not really necessary IMO.

    My build http://www.d3planner.com/658540416

Edit: provoke is also terrible for Roland's. I know you put it in there for the block bit, but it won't be up enough for you to have enough wrath or really make a difference

For Parthan's anything that freezes or stuns. So the Blizzard rune, any Frost Nova, etc.

Strongarm procs that I know of are Black Hole, Energy Twister+Ranslors, and Wave of Force.

posted a message on Best Weapon for my Build

Well when you are running 6pc Tal's there is only one answer. Serpant's Sparker. The extra hydra does immense amounts of damage. Speaking of which, why do you have the monarch's scepter in your cube? Your In geom is stupid good, almost as good as my Spaker. If you have the sparker cubed I'd go with that and the in geom until you get a really nice sparker(or re-roll one).

Also you'll probably be better off running Bastions instead of the rings you have and go with the Rorg in the cube. Also I'm not sure the Primus hat is worth it in the cube over Tasker and Theo's

I still don't think we are answering OP's question. He HAS an ancient 2h weapon he is using.

    Uh no. he said

Im just using the best ancient one hander ive found so far right now.

If he is already using a 1 hander then his attack speed is already decent, and the furnace is probably better. But honestly, to the OP, just try out both and see which one works better.

Furnace is what I would say. If you already using a one hander it will have faster speed than a two hander, especially combined with Fervor. So I think having the extra Elite damage would be better for now.

Hey guys, wanted to share this build with you for farming T7 bounties. Since we'll need lots and lots of those leg mats we need a speedy build to do it. It's based on the condemn build because it has solid damage and good aoe.

    Here is the build

Please +1 it if you like it and comment here or there if you have questions. Thanks and happy farming!

posted a message on T6 Speed farm build

I appreciate your input Raz. Like I said, part of my goal was to avoid having to switch gear and skills as I've more than once forgotten to switch back to my grift build and then started a rift only to have realize that I have the wrong stuff >< I'm also not out to set records with clear times and I think 5 mins to kill the RG is pretty good. I do enjoy the FotH skill as its fun filling the screen with lightning. Running this build also makes use of gear you likely already own and get's it out of your stash(and I know we all have stash problems lol)

Yes if you don't get a rift that's packed with monsters it's slow. And as I said you'll have to switch skills and gear around to make it work better which is something I wanted to avoid.

Generally I do clear out the rift(not every last monster mind you, but clear until you get the teleport pylon), so having a build that kills stuff passively as you run around saves time.

I picked up a Blood Brother today so I equipped it and am trying it out.

In that case dump the angel hair braid and run punish - fury because roar and retaliate currently use up the 30% damage bonus after blocking. We're pretty sure it's a bug and will hopefully be fixed but for now that's what's happening.

Fair enough, but realistically you'll want String of Ears in the long run anyway as it's vastly superior.

Also, make sure to use the fire rune for Punish (Roar) to make use of your fire %. For legendary gems I use Gogok of swiftness (helps to stack Roland's buff faster as well as gives CDR), Bane of the trapped, and Wildebeest Gizzard for survivability, since shield bash is a kite-heavy build on higher GR. As for the amulet, if you can find a good Eye of the Etlich you will gain 33% ranged resistance, making you much harder to kill. Typically its not the close up enemies that pose a threat to Roland's, its elemental and ranged enemies. Gems in the armor for GR are usually 2 diamonds + 3 rubys, or 2 rubys + 3 diamonds. If you still have a resist problem then use full diamonds. Use Unstoppable Force for the Laws of Valor rune to keep your resource costs down, which synnergizes well with Piro Marella and A.C. Prophet. I like to use Iron Skin Steel - Steel skin instead of provoke, helps make you hard to kill close up, but thats a matter of preference.

I'm going to have to disagree with some of this.

Your generator doesn't need to match the element of your spender, mostly because it's damage is so pathetic you are only taking it for the F+R proc. Instead you should look at the secondary effects of the rune. In this case, Roar is probably the worst one. Instead I'd take Punish - Fury if you need more offense for the extra crit chance or if you need more defense, I'd take Slash - Guard.

Gogok is subpar for Roland's. You shouldn't need that much CDR and Roland's already has insane attack speed so a few extra % won't make a difference. Instead, Esoteric is a much better choice and provides much needed defense for higher grifts.

Finally Unstoppable Force is an imaginary crutch. 5 seconds of extra wrath management doesn't really help that much. If you are ok on defense then I'd go with Critical instead for extra damage, or if you need the defense Law of Justice - Immovable object for basically a second Iron Skin.
