I don't understand how you playing guitar is a valid arguement for claiming bass guitar is easier than guitar

Not really, i remember playing the easy beginning part of Anesthesia aka Pulling Teeth by Cliff Burton ... and could do some slapping (lol) but thats it.

Find out where I said I was good at it. I didn't say I was a prefessional in 20 minutes. All I said was that it was easy to pick up and was rather intuitive after only 20 minutes.

If what you saying was correct, I could go play "Sweet Dreams" by marlyn manson on the guitar in a matter of minutes and claim the instrument is easy. Is that really logical?
Bass is one of the easier instruments to play actually. That doesn't mean it's easy. It is safe to say piano, guitar, violin and drums are harder to play than bass. The first time I ever picked up a bass guitar was when I was 10 and within 30 minutes I was playing entire Nirvana songs. That's not saying much, but it does attest to the relative easiness of playing bass, especially just picking it up.
Mastering it is another story. Even then, mastering piano, drums, guitar and violin is still harder than mastering bass.
Well, if you have some sence of rythm you don't really need to play tabs, covers or anything like that. (its practical though) I just started playing the guitar by just playing tunes with some rythm. After that I learned some chords and stuff from my dad. Now a days I just play and play by feeling and figure out riffs and rythm sections.
I guess one of the key things of playing bass (espacially in a band or group) is finding some groove. Our bass player and I (drums) are constantly looking for new parallel groove sections so that the kick/snare are alligning to the bass section.
You can just always go to some bass-guitar class/workshop or something. You know, just to get ya started a bit.
Yeah im thinking of just playing scales right now, maybe hangout with someother bass players and pick up a few things. Too bad there not that common.

Victor Wooten is a god along with flea and Les Claypool (I think thats his name)
I think it was Les Claypool who played master of the puppets on his bass (Sounded exactly like the guitar)

Once again the styles of bass differ from the guitar
to truely be amazing at an instrument you should master all styles of it.
Look at Victor Wooten and Regi Wooten as an example to see how bass although it has 2 less strings can keep up with the guitar.

tell me if thats easy, Nirvana on a bass isn't hard. When your hitting RHCP on the bass as fast as flea then talk.
I played Viola for 2 years and can truthfully say it wasn't as hard as bass for me.
I guess it all comes down to past experiece and preferance.
