They changed it so you don't loose stacks anymore. Hit any enemy and it'll reset, and with no enemies just activate sweeping wind again. But seriously, even if you loose the 10 stacks, building them back up is so fast - as you don't need to wait a full second without being attacked just to gain a stack. Hit multiple enemies with Crippling Wave and the stacks just come right back.

They should have never used random builds from random people. This should have been more thought out - it should have been specific dev builds that had specific synergy (so it doesn't have to be meta builds, but builds that worked if it was thought out) and the time completed should have be a set time. It should have all been planned out and not random.
The Devs should have made the challenge, not just pick some random crap build that may or may not work. It should have been fun to play with. The devs should have made a build that other players may have not used or had a synergy that most people didn't see.

If you really like the Wave Of Light attack, you'll need to switch to the Sunwuko set - https://www.icy-veins.com/d3/monk-sunwuko-wave-of-light-build-patch-2-6-season-11. Which is better off as the new 2.6.1 patch - that build is a powerhouse for GRs, and very very quick at speedfarming.

So played a little bit last night.
With the huge buff to the Vyr set, gaining stacks is easy and builds up your attack and toughness by a huge amount. I decided to not use Halo or Arlyse and decided to keep Manald Heal and kept Paralysis in the passive abilities. And changed Frost Nova to Black Hole Spellsteal.
So is this viable to keep Manald heal with the 6 piece Vyr set now?
With subpar gear I was already past my highest GR with TalRasha Archon.

I wouldn't say combo as in it becomes a new move.
But yes, classes do work together - usually a main DPS character to deal out damage - sometimes 2, one for the Rift Guardian other for the mobs. And then you'll have support characters to keep the DPS guys alive.
So WD, Wizards, Necros and DH have been main DPS.
Barbs, Monk, Necros, and Crusaders have been supports.
But you can make any character a DPS or Support.

Without Aether walker - I'd drop Teleport and go with Black Hole. I'd then switch Frost Nova with Blizzard - Frozen Solid and then maybe swap out Nemesis Bracer with Ancient Parthan Defenders or Ashnagarr's Blood Bracer. Mind you - the black hole set up is very slow as in you're not teleporting everywhere. Hence why you need Blizzard to freeze all the enemies so you can get around them and then cast black hole once archon is ready to capitalize on the Spellsteal rune.
If you want to use Teleport - I'd then go with Aether Walker and In-Geom combo. And still stick with Nemesis Bracers and the rest of your current ability setup. This setup is great for Speedruns.

If the guide is well written and thoroughly explained as to why and what items you are using, then do it!
It'll catch on if people can follow and use it easily.
And when discussing the build, you'll have to take criticism lightly and explain yourself without getting defensive (just saying so it doesn't turn into an argument and the whole thing gets dropped.)
There's tons of people who rather play their own build so there's a niche group out there who'd appreciate it.

With Aether Walker, In-Geom and Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac you become super fast with barely any cooldowns. So you can use your powers with long cool downs such as Archon over and over again with no waiting periods.

Is this happening on single targets? I've noticed it's hard to target single enemies and just skip them to find bigger mobs. And dealing with just one enemy - as in the Rift Guardian, the Bane of the Stricken gem is a must.
