Dec 28, 2012nameyetna posted a message on The PVP Blog Is HereI think a betting system would work. I personally would be happy with all basic functionalities at launch like the ability to duel with your own friends, some sort of ranking to denote how good you are aside from win-loss tracking, a functional queuing system for public games, other players being able to join in and watch a duel (spectator mode), being able to set the number of rounds the duel will last and some kind of box where duelists can place money and items in then the winner of the duel takes it all.Posted in: News
Yeah the last one wasn't really basic. But one can dream.:) -
Sep 21, 2012nameyetna posted a message on Patch 1.0.5 PTR Patch Notes - 1.0.5 Coming to the PTROyeah and huge change is the nerf to the armor buff the enchantress gives. It now only gives 5%! I can see a lot of people trying out other followers. Personally the scoundrel with some 'x%chance to slow' weapon for his triple shot skill seems like the best option despite the new templar buffs.Posted in: News

Sep 21, 2012nameyetna posted a message on Patch 1.0.5 PTR Patch Notes - 1.0.5 Coming to the PTRThat's a LOT of changes. A lot of them improve quality-of-life in game. Hmmm.. Don't think I'll participate in the PTR (other games to play atm), but I'm gonna jump right in when the patch hits to check this out.Posted in: News

Jun 29, 2012nameyetna posted a message on Attack Speeds for Each Class, Natalya's Wrath Update, Player Feedback, Blue PostsBarbs have the highest attack speed!! Wooh! Well it doesn't matter too much because fury generation/usage isn't something barbs consider currently. Monks who stacked it were really gimped though with the nerf.Posted in: News

Jun 20, 2012nameyetna posted a message on Attack Speed and Patch 1.0.4, "Confirmed" World First Hardcore Inferno Diablo Kill, 1.0.3 Bug List, PollI don't mind the inferno nerf. I don't mind the attack speed nerf. I don't even mind the increase in repair costs (although they could lower this just a wee bit. 10-20% less painful).Posted in: News
What sucks is the nerf to chests/corpses/destructible objects. That really makes the game less enjoyable. -
Jun 19, 2012nameyetna posted a message on Patch 1.0.3 Official Patch NotesSeems like melee are getting buffs and ranged some nerfs. All good. Melee were really a bit gimped when beginning Inferno. I'm worried about monks though because spirit generation will plummet.Posted in: News
The change to overpower makes me want to explore the skill a little more.
I know a lot of people will complain about the nerf to Inferno, but personally I'm gonna enjoy being able to farm act 2 and still have a chance at sick act 3-4 items.
The worst change of the patch is the nerf to destructible objects and chests, corpses etc... Doesn't this take too much out of the meat of Diablo? You're supposed to be able to find awesome stuff anywhere. There is no point in stopping to explore a bookcase or break some furniture anymore. That removes a hefty bit of immersion from the game. It's essentially cutting a feature out by changing it to have near zero use. I'm sure there are other ways to nerf all the chest/vase/pony cloud farming going on. -

It's 0.1% of the builds currently being used, yet the 5th most used.. thats saying the game is very very cookie cutter.
Am i alone who thought bashiok was just trolling with those numbers? ^^
No you aren't. It's obvious that he's trolling. I mean a few blue posts ago he said "Did you know 90% of statistics are made up on the spot?" -

Mar 16, 2011nameyetna posted a message on Bashiok on Skill Balancing in PvE and PvPI think overall it means we'll get the game faster. Remember how long it took to balance SC2 before they released the final game? that was pretty long. Also it might be less of an issue depending on how incredibly long it will take to build a max level pvp optimized guy, so essential balance changes and such might be needed after 1 or 2 seasons when the game is more understood. giving the diversity of builds they're talking about, it might take awhile to point out what builds/skills/rune combinations/equipment/stacked stats/team combos/skill synergies are gamebreaking for pvp and require immediate balance.Posted in: News
I agree with The Informant too. The application of a shared skill change between bosses and enemy players just makes everything easier to understand, plus has the added benefit of you not having to try a set of skills the first time by messing up a random queue. you can sort of test a pvp viable concept on bosses in pve as an alternative. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

I'm looking forward to the patches. Just hoping for some form of progression that isn't so tied to the RNG item hunt. It's boring after you've killed inferno diablo.

Urghh.. I paid for the game already. If it becomes mandatory to constantly inject money in the game, or at least make it very difficult for those who won't spend extra money, then the game is complete fail imho.
In my experience though farming is viable enough to progress and the ah is just for those who want to skip the grind. But the game lacks endgame.

Yup that's a trend these days. WoW forums was always on and on about how they nerfed a class/feature/content that ruined the game. SC2 forums are a bit more level headed I would say.. D3.. oh man. Always with the complaints (which are valid sometimes. But the way it's worded is often horrendous and very combative). You have to realize why there's a huge shitstorm now though. A lot of people spent millions in gold on their gear just to have it nerfed to the ground.
But geez what do you expect? It's blizzard and a game just came out. People should expect a lot of patches and changes.
