Well, realistically, since Diablo has become much more than just a single player game...I would think the paladin has to be in as that class is based in multiplayer, I hope that they nerf it so it's not the best ass kicker....damn hdins are boring to play. Necromancer, ya I suppose...seems the game engine wouldn't support it tho, so scrap the necro, sorcerer/ess is kinda a must...need some kinda magic powerhouse, I'd like to see the assassin make a comeback, w/o traps tho...an assassin should be all about speed, ass kicking while challenging gameplay of controlling a char that moves super fast.....hides...etc....I dunno. I think it would be fun, besides...imagine how awesome a geared sin would look....mwahahaha...pure awesomeness.

Druid? been replaced by witchdoctor.....now the Amazon....thats gotta be a tough one. They could probably roll that in with the barb class, make a fem barb and throw ranged wep skills in the skill set...who knows.

I'd like to see a reappearance of the monk, from the original Diablo expansion.....yes I've been playing that long. But I think there would be some serious kick-assedness going on to have a guy who just pummels you with fists or staff...yes....there is no end to the cool.

Rip off the seraphim from Sacred? an idea.....or even dark elf....hmmmm ideas abound.

The Witch Doctor replaced the necromancer... as you can see with the zombie wall (bone wall, tough one... right?) I'm kinda hoping that they don't come back with another paladin, even a paladin like class. They're in almost every game out now where you can choose your character's class. I'm just hoping that the new class that will be revealed will be even better than the Witch Doctor.

More old news. Please stop posting news that is old. If theres no new news, then don't substitute with something everyone already knows. This is like the third time in a row that I have seen recycled news posted on here.

Yeah, I know what you're thinking: "You think you could do a better job?!?"

    Lol yes. Yes I do.

He could be answering another persons post, so don't jump the gun there lil missy. And I consider that more or less :offtopic:.

Question is do you think they'll allow us to give mercs items and weapons? And that includes auras too. I think we can agree those auras made us pretty powerful...

I don't see them changing the mercenary style if they bring it back. The whole 'equip your mercenary with any gear that you have/find' was what made Diablo II different than the others.

I hope they keep experience loss as a death penalty, at least on the higher difficulties. I am a little too skittish for hardcore, but I liked experience loss because it kept you on your toes. Dying wasn't the end of the world, but it was definitely counter progressive.

I think that somebody said that there will be no experience loss since just running to where you died is penalty enough. Don't quote me on this, but I remember seeing it.

Yup! Jay Wilson said it... if you want to see, refer to page one of this thread.

    'ello.

I have no doubt that Blizzard will make d3 interesting and fun and powerful! They already stated that there'll be no old classes (except barb) in d3, but also said there might be one or two classes in d3 expansion (so all of you waiting for palas, sorcs, amas (me) etc. keep your fingers crossed)! This doesn't mean that some skills or skill trees aren't going to be similar with current, but knowing Blizzard - they are going to make something similar, but in many ways better!
There's amazon island picture reveled which is going to appear in expansion so amazon is best guess so far IMO...

On-topic reply, I think one class is going to be reveled on BlizzCon (as I'm optimist I'll say maybe two ;)). As on which class that might be I don't know but if I would do it I would present most similar class to one in d2 (if there are similar classes which I believe will be the case) so other two more different and new classes raises our spirits just before they put out d3 on market.

    Thank you. :P

They already stated that there's going to be "warriors" FROM D2 in D3. That means that there are going to be at least another class from D2 usable in D3.

Yeah, bunnies could munch on undead corpses, or a bear could jump out of the woods, collect the corpses and then jump back into the darkness.

That'd be awesome to just see some cannibal bunnies come out of nowhere. Maybe even get those Hell Bovine to pop up out of nowhere and pull them to the SECRET COW LEVEL!

Note they are talking warriors not just one:)

They are saying warriors - as in the characters from Diablo II.

Same problem realy. If 2 corpses are close enough to be caught in the same attack, and one leaves the screen and the other doesnt, its still a problem. It'd had to include something about corpse distence realy.

I personaly like the idea of corpses that are within a certian range and/or are klled within the time period of lets say 3 seconds switch to meshes at the same time, be it when a certian time period (of them being left alone and not effected by any physics effects) expires, a certian number (20 in this case) of maximum corpses is reached, or when the player leaves the screen for more then 5 seconds or so. Then after a lets say minute of being offscreen they can disintegrate (to take off even more stress off the engine) for all I care. The posibility of the player remembering where exectly he left lying each individual corpse isnt there, plus... after a minute a whole new stack would pile up anyway. Noone would realy care if the old ones are gone when they're - lets say - returning back trough the dungeon to the exit.

Nice idea about the tables etc. tough. That would deffinetly work.

Yeah, I see what you mean by the distance and whatnot. As someone said, sorry for not remembering, that the bodies should have a timer on how long the physics would last, that would make it a lot easier. Maybe like 3-5 seconds depending on how populated the area is.

The tables idea mainly came from Half-life 2, physics and realism (to a point ^_^) were amazing.

    Quote from "Daemaro" »
I think it'd be cooler if the bodies rapidly decomposed or turned into a black smoky material that fades.

I like how the Assault Beast disappears though. ^_^

I am liking that idea, it should leave a black spot on the ground for, lets say, 3 minutes or something. The bigger the beast the bigger the spot. Or, even leave a part of the monsters body. Say you kill a giant beast with a horn(s), after the beast fades from the game, one of the horns could be left.

I don't know if anyone else noticed, but Jay Wilson just said in one of his last interviews that the next class to be announced (probably at Blizzcon) will be very similar to one of the classes in Diablo II. Since the barbarian is back and the witch doctor is already somewhat similar to the necromancer, that leaves the other five...

I'm kind of hoping that they bring back some variation of the Sorceress. If they bring back the Paladin, I wouldn't be surprised... they're in a lot of games now.

I don't think they should have a paladin again. They should make some new classes just so that people can have a different game play than D2.

Shaman is too much like the Witch Doctor, elemental moves and whatnot. I think that Sepulveda is right, they should make new characters. Having the same characters with new builds would just be kind of boring to play all over again. Certain characters though should only be able to use certain types of gear, make it more worth while to find gear.

There is however a problem. Lets say one monster/corpse dies a few seconds before the other. When the barbarian uses siesmic slam on a third mob, he hits both the corpses - and - one flys up in the air becouse of the physics, while the other remains still - already being a static mesh. If they can find a way around this sort of stuff... then ok. It can definetly be done, but would require some fine tuning.

Maybe there's a way so that when a character stays in the frame of the corpse, that the corpse can still be affected by the physics and whatnot. Then when the character leaves the frame, they become a static mesh.

As for the physics of the tables/chairs/etc... you could just have it to where you can break them down more after you already break them and after a while, they just break down into nothing. Maybe after 2 hits they just dissipate.

    you meant gender neutral.

don't ever call a class neuter as in sexless.

    that is barbaric.

D3 has announced there will both male and female gender in each class.

where does it refer to a neuter class?

    It doesn't ever mention that.

you failed to address my main point.

expansion packs lead to story confusion and incompatibilities within the player base.
some players own expansion packs, some don't, some require new machines, some change the storyline.

the strategy is not to make add-on expansion packs.

the strategy should be making new versions of the game.

your definition of a million players online being an MMO is false.

take your definition and go search the web.

it's not my job to educate you, but you are uneducated about the term MMO.

*sigh* First off, you truly are an arrogant one. Neuter name... I never said a neuter class. Nothing is "barbaric" about changing a feminine name to something more neuter to suite the male version of that class.

Second, I said that the definition of MMO was what I think it is, I never said that it was the real definition. Your bantering is senseless if you can't even quote me right.

Oh, and if they made a whole new sequel to the game instead of an expansion, you'd be on here complaining day in and day out that they're taking too long to throw it out onto the market. You need to read others posts a bit more carefully next time you want to try and put me in my place.

The whole point of having mercenaries is to help you out during your journey. If your mercenary can't use certain gear, it will most likely die in a few weak hits.
