MF intentional or unintentionaly (by Blizzard) almost became a class in itself. I had a MF sorc and a general sorc..before the dastardly 1.10 patch. While I agree there should be a way for most classes to MF, I always maintain that each class should be distinct. That is having distinct skills and abilities. That is what makes having multiple characters fun. Sometimes you fell like a nut...sometimes you don't.

Sorry KILLING HAZARD.. I can not agree with you on that one. Just like tanking was a ability that made a barb invaluable to a party, teleporting was a skill that made a sorceress invaluable to a party. When blizzard cranked up the levels of monsters to make the game tougher, Enigma was certainly one of the widely used counters. There used to be a term in D2 used "ccokie-cutter BARB"...insert favourite class instead of BARB. This term meant a character who used the tried and true build and gear that everyone did and Enigma was one of the gears for this. Enigma 'balanced' the game but also ruined it (pun intended) as did other runewords.

I would like to see a priest - monk - healer class myself. I play Guild Wars (which was my Diablo 3) and a healer class is infinitely different than any of the D2 classes.
Variety is the spice of life

Diablo 2 was great the way it was until the 1.10 patch. They crossed class specific skills to other classes (i.e.teleport, auras) by way of runewords. I think that is the point where I and most of my D2 friends lost interest in D2.
There was a reason you built a MF sorc, or a lighning zon, or whatever. You had a specific task in mind and made a character for that purpose.
Now with teleporting paladins and necros, auras on mercs and gear, it isn't the class or the build that's so important...it's the gear. The line of distinction between classes is blurred.

I like the idea of making a party to quest with other players and to choose players for your quest by calss because of the skills that calss bring to the table.
