Well Bisso, I believe its referring to personal achievements, unless other players can see your achievements I think its mostly for your own sense of self accomplishment. I doubt Blizzard is thinking of people showing others their achievements to inflate their egos. I don't think they are for competition either, I believe its merely more goals to aim for which I think is a good idea. Most likely you wont even notice them until you get one or you are purposefully trying to get one, it will probably be like, "Hey, I just got the achievement of decapitating 1000 zombies, sweet." Not, "Hey look this guy has more achievements than me he's better than me at the game."
Just another humble admirer of Diablo and Blizzard, coming to chat with some other fans about one of my favorite series of all time. Hopefully I can have some enlightening and interesting discussions on these forums.

Act 1: Amazon/Assassin class, a dexterity ranged character.
Act 2: Some sort of desert arcane mage class, a pupil of Horazon or something that is purely a caster.
Act 3: The already announced Witch Doctor, he fits the swamp.
Act 4: Possibly a fighter/healer/caster hybrid, much like a paladin. Maybe some sort of angel or something?
Act 5: The Barbarian.
Anyway theres my 2 cents, I could be way off but I can't see them dropping the ranged fighter class or the Paladin.
