or if Blizzard was sued by every single one of its employees and went broke, so broke it broke other companies.
if either of those happened then i would doubt the arrival of diablo 3 for a bit. -

Aug 31, 2006Carloseus posted a message on The Final Diablo 3 is Coming argumentim sorry sergey but there is a reason why this site has so many members. maybe its because we all want it to come out?? think about it, a site named diablo3.com and many members. i see your new and everything but that is one of the most noobish statement ive seen yet. i do feel bad that i am in a way attacking you but it is out of your own doing. next time try to refrain from stating the obvious. we know you want this game to come out since you took the time to register. it was the biggest give in.Posted in: News

Yea, everyone likes to say that the trailer isn't captivating now, but I'm pretty sure we were all watching intently as we saw it the first time.
On the other hand, I do agree with you to an extent. D2 had cinematics and Cutscenes that were just the story. They weren't explanations or an attempt to help you understand what was going on. They were just a story. Simple, and it went at its own pace instead of trying to go at the viewer's pace.
Blizzard is unfortunately seeming to be taking the road of lowering the standards a bit for the sake of a more broad audience. The beauty of the videos and the games is unquestionable. However they feel more childlike as they progress. For those who played WotLK, remember the cutscene where Bolvar confronts the Lich King? The Horde arrive just in time and there is some pretty heinous dialogue that the two faction heroes exchange. That to me is almost to the point of selling out.
Blizzard had a sense of seriousness with their games, and that in my opinion is what made their games so goddamn fun to play and get lost in. I think they're losing that sense of seriousness, perhaps its in the fact that they've blown up as a company. I hope they can get a hold of that reality they had before all their success, because its the reason why so many people would slap their mother to get their hands on a new Blizzard game.

Very good points. I'd be very interested in what Blizzard would have to say about this.

The Zakarum and kingdoms of Westmarch surely have a righteous warrior to offer? I'll go ahead and say it. I LOVE paladins. There is something in me that comes alive when I see heavy armor and holy scriptures. I care not the alignment to a specific religion or order, I just love the concept of a warrior much like any other save for the fact that he casts spells and wields holy magic.
All that being said, who's pissed there isn't a Paladin-esque class in Diablo 3? Or who's glad there isn't? State your opinions on it, and why or how you came to that conclusion. I'll try not to destroy anti-paladin remarks.:thumbsup:

The Prime Evils seem to. What would there be "soulstones" for? To capture their souls and send them to hell permanently never to return to Sanctuary. With the Worldstone destroyed, that plan went right out the window.

Lets look at the facts. The D3 trailer was in full CG glory. In my opinion it beat anything before it, save maybe the Lich King trailer which I'm also very fond of.
However all the cinematics after that have been to introduce the classes into the game. How could they make a cinematic for each one? And why would they get our hopes and aspirations up with a cinematic version of the class, when all we will ever get to see is the ingame version?
And lets not forget that the heroes of Diablo remain anonymous. In Diablo 2 there were never any hints or indications of which heroes brought down the Prime Evils, nor did any of them get any camera time. The most you saw out of any of them is the hand on the hammer as the Soulstones were destroyed.
Though I'm not a big fan of ingame cinematics, we still have to consider the other things about it too. I would love some nice video on how glorious a barbarian can be, but I don't think that fits in very well with the rest of the series. Perhaps the cutscenes will show something of the classes, and definately show more of Sanctuary.
I'm a lover of CG and epic cinematics, however I'd have to go with the unfortunately truth that it just is too costly, and too small a thing to worry about when they are no doubt working on the actual game, its sequels, and not to mention all the other things they have in production.
I don't know if CG for Blizzard is shared by all the franchises, or if each department has their own dedicated artists, but if they're working on SC2, WoW, D3, and some unannounced MMO, then we're just going to have to do with what we got. And that would be an epic Diablo roaring.

The way I see it, Sanctuary wasn't as infected with demons and monsters as the game was. I mean, would anyone be able to get anything done with that many demons and other such creatures running around? The way I see it, they only populated the game so much so that we could have some fun killing them, and maybe even make it a little annoying for us to get from point A to point B.
I mean, he got into the Durance of Hate without having to find Khalim's pieces right? Maybe Marius was assisted by Tyrael or maybe he's just lucky. Or was lucky rather.

I was about to destroy him for copyright infringement lol.
Not a bad story, you can work on the punctuation. There are some parts where you should add to the story and description, and others where you should probably back off a bit. Not bad overall though.

I was kidding about the first part, and I think I see something coming.

Good theory, but the Prime Evils were playing balls out. They threw away all they're little games and made bold moves to place themselves in power again. The only thing they scewed up on is leaving Mephisto behind to handle us while the other two escaped further. The one thing I don't get though, is why Baal wasn't there to confront us alongside Diablo in Act 4. They are stronger together, yet he kept fleeing. Wait.
He was searching for the stone! Marius had gone into hiding, so its logical that Baal went in search of him. Marius had only heard of Diablo's demise. And as for Diablo, well, would he have left his soulstone just anywhere? No, the Prime Evils were playing as hard as possible, and they underestimated humans yet again.
However, now they'll be coming back. And I'm going to lose my mind when I see them again.

I am sorry to break it to you, but "epic" has not been seen on this forum since SICK's (and by that I mean SLAYERS) greatness. Active threads, several sub-guilds, and ultimate pwnage in D2. People played together, texted each other, visited the forum, and talked together whether or not it was on the forum or the game. Such days....I miss.
