posted a message on [Hardcore] Returning to D3 from S1; Need help!

I would go with a marauder build. You just have to deal damage and M6 is pretty safe. You can still do a bunch of damage and have pets blocking for you. The new builds are either not as strong (Nats) or very risky (UE).

I state risky because UE is dependent on high Discipline levels. Well it's your discipline that keeps you from dying. So the best UE builds in a way discourage survivability.

I think the best build in HC will be greatly aided by an Awareness Hellfire Amulet. This will give you the best build by allowing you to use more passive skills. DH has about 7 really good ones. So being able to have a 5th is very helpful.

As far as Legendary Gems I would use Zei's and Bane of the Trapped for max damage. Your third should be a defensive one. I like the Gizzard but the one that reduces elemental damage is good too.

Just in case you die make sure you level a Gem of Ease. A Hellfire Ring is helpful as well with replacing a dead character.

The new COE ring way outperforms either unity or SoJ. But you have to get used to it. You will die a lot compared to Unity. But a well rolled COE will take minutes off your minion clears. After that it's all RNG in getting an RG that isn't impossible to kill in the remaining time.

posted a message on Should I use Entangling shot or Evasive Fire?

Use the fire rune for 6 hatred. EV gets you 7 hatred. But a bow is fast. So you can make up the hatred by shooting more. The extra hatred is really needed for slow 2 hangers.

Until they patch Kridershot to drop without a socket max discipline and damage will have to be a trade decision. Which sucks because you lose out on a stat if you can't roll off the socket for a secondary stat.

posted a message on Ok a ton of really dumb questions, but I cant find answers.

Look at your gear and use Kadala to improve your worst slots. Weapons and Jewelry should be done later because of the cost.

No other way to farm other than crafting. For WD Utar's Roar is good to craft because it's cold. A lot of buids are cold. Augilds is a good set to craft.

Ring of Royal Grandeur is farmed by completing all bounties in Act 1.

posted a message on Upgrading PC; will i get more performance on D3?

Get a SSD, they are affordable now. I would recommend that the largest one you can afford.
If cost is an issue get a smaller one, but at least a 128GB. The are now under $100 USD, I've seen them as low as $60 at this capacity. 256GB are currently hovering around $100. But if you can find a deal on 512GB one, I recommend that. The SDD is easily the best upgrade for the money. It drastically increases the load times of both the operating system and applications. I recommend this now, because boot drive is never a plug and play experience. So, get one of these first. Once you go SSD, you'll never go back to a HDD for booting. As I've said, this is by far the best thing you can do. Boot ups from an SSD are twice as fast. I used to hate Windows updates because it would require a reboot. Now they are actually tolerable. If you can't afford this because of budget, I recommend you wait a pay cycle and save the extra money for this upgrade.

I run mine like this, apps & OS on the SDD and data storge on a HDD slave drive. You can reuse your current HDD for this. When you get the cash, adding a third HDD is simple. Or if that isn't an option, copying you data drive is simple, just a drag and drop. Again this is not the case for your OS unless you some experience with cloning software to transfer your OS. But, I recommend a fresh install on a new rig.

I recommend the 128, because anything smaller will either limit installing frequently used apps or the size page file. The page file is important because it will, in effect increase the access rate to overspill from your RAM. This is akin to vastly increasing your RAM, because you rather than reading and writing to a mechanical device, it's completely electronic. There are no delays relative to physical disks that have to "spin up" before they reach peak performance.

    Good luck with this.

posted a message on Survey - Diablo III and Leaderboards

Leaderboards are broken in to Region/Clans/Friends.

From there, there are 3 multi-player modes then 1 for each solo class.

There are also distinct Seasonal & Nonseasonal.

There is also a Seasonal Achievement leaderboard, as well as those in post #2.

Whether or not you are competing or not, you are on a leaderboard if you complete a Greater Rift.

You make none of the above or aforementioned distinctions.

Not sure what you think you're going to get from your questions.

How many hours a day do you play? The lowest option is 0-5 hours. Did you mean "per week" rather than daily?

5 hours daily would be 35 hours a week. People in America only work a scheduled 40 hour work week.

The survey seems poorly designed. It looks like you're grasping at straws.

A well designed survey will have predefined conclusions that are outputted based on the survey responses.

It looks like you're going to analyze based on your observations of really lousy inputs.

There are 1000 people on each of the individual Regional leaderboards.

If your best Grift is 42 and the 1000 Rank player's best Grift it Tier 43, are you still competing?

I think you are, but you are not on the Regional leaderboard. The first competition is getting Ranked.

After that, the competition is climbing the ladder.

Your questions in no way reflect the stages in the actual competition, so, I have serious doubts about any conclusions your survey will output.

posted a message on Should I change to Multi-Shot untill I find X-bow?

I'm not really sure why CA has a different range than MS. Might because CAs damage is at the target and Rockets from Arsenal are point of attack. I use both in my build and I never see rockets firing off screen but they come out of nowhere with cluster arrows.

Something that should be said about CA, sentries will fire off screen.  This is more than 100 game yards.  MS rockets have a very short range.  So your play style should be adjusted to accommodate the skill.  I personally prefer CA because of the range. On maps without walls CA will fire from turrets offscreen.  But they don't fire Arsenal rockets. They do cost more but you get some value back because of the added casts from offscreen.

posted a message on What follower to use and how to gear for progressing Higher Grifts

Yeah I have the same problem with my templar this season.  Nothing has dropped with strength.  Right now I have a blue necklace and yellow rings.  I was using him before 2nd Unity dropped yesterday. Without any damage from him I'm using the Enchantress.  Fighting chickens every once in a while seems like a better way to go than having no damage support with minimal resource regeneration. Now if he could actually do a little damage the extra health and blocking would be a better support unit.
