Anyone still holding out for a miracle patch to change the game is wasting their time. Even with the "less drops, better quality" patch, the game will remain the same.

There's starting to be a joke going around for other games.

Guess I'll keep checking the news and maybe next year or the year after something meaningful will actually be changed in this game.

    Quote from Enkeria

    yes 2008

Some of of the things that did not make it to the launch:
    • Ladders to climb up and down on.
    • Boss Hero-Death animations.
    • These areas "Forgotten Tomb" does not exist and "Leorics Highland" changed much.
    • Cinematic cut-scenes in a middle of a dungeon.
    • UI system: Mana as a resource for all classes.
    • Hovering healthbar on each and every enemy only visable while hover mouse on them
    • The Talisman (icon between the weapon slots)
    • Inventory style changed into the "tetris" style.
    • "Super block" by skeletons with shield did not make all the way to the release and was weakend.
    • Number 5 "Scroll of townportal / identify" was scraped.
    • Random people you click on that will follow you (like those in this video, not chicken warriors Act 3 included).
    • Minor Energy Rune and Elixir of Vitalty do not appear in Diablo 3 at all (see around 04:22).
    • Inaccessable gaps wouldn't work at all since not all classes could pass them. Animation was pre-fixed. Just like the death-animation on the siege breaker.
    • Girls dancing before they explode just to be summoned into a mini-boss, which just became normal monster later on.
    • And many other things!
    • Elemental damage actually mattered, frost slowed and had a chance to freeze on hit. Certain enemies had resistances to certain elements, requiring you to use your brain.

posted a message on Approaching 1000 hours played, my thoughts...
I've played nearly 1000 hours now, across 8 characters. My first 200 hours were spent before patch 1.0.3, and I never made it into act 3. It was frustrating and I really didn't know if I was going to continue or leave the franchise for good. The constant nerfing, jumping from one OP spec to another over and over, and the lack of good legendaries (or any dropping at all) made it difficult to find redeeming qualities in the game.

However, now that I've played the newest patch and logged so many hours I find that I'm starting to really enjoy it. I think it's a shame that it took this long to start seeing legendaries more than once per hour, but it's such a joy to blaze through a level. One-shotting mobs left and right, feeling like a god. Yeah, this is Diablo! Sure sometimes I get bored, but how can I complain when I am still able to play 4-6 hours a day without burning out. I think the game receives far too many criticisms without praising what it has done right.

The game really does an amazing job with physics and graphics. Bodies explode and heads roll down hills, flesh melts off bones, and the barbarian can send enemies flying through the air. The game has very tight and responsive controls, something I haven't seen many comment on. I'm in the closed beta for Marvel Heroes and that's the first thing I noticed. It feels stiff, playing like an MMO. You walk up to an enemy, then a weird pause happens. You start to attack it, but it feels so robotic. Controls are the hardest thing to explain, but in Diablo 3 I think they really have the advantage over all the other ARPG's I have played. Even in Torchlight 2, it just doesn't feel the same.

I'm rambling now, but I think I just wanted to make a personal post for myself. I can finally say that I have hope for this game. Looking forward, it can only get better. When a loud "TING" and a pillar of gold light fills the air, my heart beats faster. I can't help it, I'm addicted. After all, isn't that the whole point of the game? I'd say it succeeded.

posted a message on Introducing the Paragon System
They need to add Pandemonium events, seek out unique monsters that spawn randomly throughout the world and have a chance to drop keys. Once you get all the required keys, you get one portal to Greed's Realm. Inside of Greed's Realm, there is hordes of treasure goblins and the boss himself, Gheed!

Edit: Or just have goblin's randomly drop keys since they already randomly spawn and can be tricky to kill sometimes :)

    Really guys........this is getting ridiculous.

    Let us play the game.

Quit tinkering and driving away players with every single patch. You are removing EVERY chance for us to improve in a FARMING DRIVEN GAME. You nerf everything that will keep players here and not shoot them over to TL2 or GW2.

I choose Option 6: LEAVE IT ALONE

While playing diablo 3, Jay Wilson noticed that other players were playing the game differently than he envisioned. Outraged, he told his staff that there will be nerfs!
