From what I've read by Blue posts, the PTR client is exactly the same as the Beta client. The only difference is you're walled off from certain features. Basically PTR is RoS with a level 60 cap, no adventure mode, no crusader, no act V, etc.

Be careful what you wish for, most likely if Blizzard ups the mob density that will mean a reduction on drop rates and experience from those monsters. On the current version, this is fine because we have Monster Power (bonus drop), but with the new patch there is no more bonus drops.

I was hoping to hear about ladder news from Blizzcon on whether I want to keep going for Paragon 1000 or not. With news that nothing is going on with it at the moment I'll prob stick with going for 1000 since Im around the 600 mark now.
Yeah man, I realized last month that they weren't going to implement ladder. It's just one of those things they do to draw in people. Remember team deathmatch? -
Nov 13, 2013Ryude posted a message on Diablo III Remote Play on PS Vita, More Details on Adventure Mode, Few More Details on Expansion FeaturesTrifecta is being looked at. To quote Wyatt, "We don't want to take away trifecta, instead we want to provide you with more options." It's not always necessarily about making the most commonly used stats worse, but the ones that are less utilized better.Posted in: News
The whole point of playing a game like Diablo is so that you can reiterate your character's stats, skill points, and item build to become more and more efficient. Trifecta isn't the problem as they said, the problem is that no other stat comes close to crit dmg, crit chance, and attack speed.
One way they could make Trifecta less required is to offer skills or passives that scale much higher with non-crit damage. Example: Perhaps have a rune that makes Bola Shot deals additional damage equal to 500% of your total poison damage, but the trade off would be that it cannot crit. -

Even though I'm not a competative person and generally keeps to myself by playing hardcore selffound. I can't help but get ticked of by streamers bragging about (third party site bought) gear that he claims is self-found. Even though I don't participate in the run down softcore culture it still affects me. I'd rather see everybody find the best items themselves. That's just how I am and feel about the game.
Those streamers can feast on these two round objects dangling down there.
In all seriousness, why care about what some no-life loser claims or does not claim?
One could ask why you care what others care about. Just because it's not an issue to you, doesn't mean that it invalidates others concerns. -

My reasoning for this is that in a game like Diablo, the gameplay experience is extremely important. In a game where I've spent maybe 1500-2000 hours total playing, the chance to experience it all in a different way with different controls is awesome. I played the demo and found the controls to be crisp and enjoyable. I've been debating purchasing the game for a while now, but I'd love to win a copy.
I'd like the copy for Xbox 360, if I win that is -

okay, im not the one to reinvent the wheel, but why doesnt Blizz give us "full control" of game difficulty by implementing a switch using a variable built on a few exponential (or heavens forbid linear) functions like the /players X switch was in D2 (which was of course more linear than exponential)?
simply type: /mp X and the formula will dynamically adjust the monsterhp/monsterdmg/loot/xp and whatnot ratio using those functions
i have always wondered with regards to monster power why we were bound by static, preprogrammed difficulties in the first place
Probably because of the always online requirement, there are tons more data that has to be synced than there was in D2. -

It has 2 buttons on each side, so I never have to use the keyboard if I don't want to. If they added another skill slot, I'd be forced to use the keyboard. I'm not saying that is a bad thing necessarily, but it is something to consider.Posted in: News

Still, I can't see myself spending an extra $60 to play more or less the exact same game.

I think I get where both of you are coming from. On one hand I love the MF/GF of paragon 100, but I also don't want to make a new character if I've already got 500 Paragon levels with my main(s). The real reason is likely due to the fact that we have no skill trees anymore, nothing to experiment with and see if it would work better than the last time I played that class.

Makes sense, gold would be less desired without an AH.

I agree, but you can see from one of the Blue posts where they said Paragon 2.0 is not designed with the intent of customization. It is designed as an endgame (endless) and to share it account-wide.

The difference is that you can place those points into whichever stats you want. So instead of having useless Dex on a barbarian, you can put those Dex points into Str/Vit and get a lot more value for your levels.

While that is true, I think Blizzard found that the bots were trimming their margins so much that it wasn't worth the hassle anymore dealing with real money. They have to pay the CS and other fees. There's a lot of stuff they have to pay for just to let us buy and sell items for real money. So while it is indeed for the best of the game, it probably was not the only reason. They may have actually been losing money just to keep the RMAH.

Well we can guess at what might happen, but I can tell you what will happen. You won't be able to buy gold anymore (except 3rd party), you won't be able to sell an item for millions of gold easily (3rd party isn't easy), and they have already said that enchantments will have a significant cost associated with them.
This also means, craft materials such as tomes of secret will be much harder to come by. Stockpile now if you don't want to be surprised.

With the announcement of the AH shutting down, you have 30 days from this day to get a refund for Diablo 3. Once you click the Accept button on the agreement, you cannot get the refund.
