posted a message on Battle.Net Auction House
You know, I hate to bring this up, but Guild Wars did a great job in keeping the money system the master trading currency (at first at least) by having the Auction House sell specific items for a price, and people fuel the AH by selling their items to said vendor. Prices are in real time based on supply and demand. Now, this would be difficult to do with set items, and randomly generated items, but for Runes, gems, ect ect.... it wouldn't be that hard to use something like that.... but again... using the auction house would require an actual value to the currency system. There must be a reason to spend gold.

    Your right.

Fuck improving the game, why play something better when you can play something older?

Diablo influenced the talent system... Now the talent system is influencing the SKill tree system.

    D2>WoW>D3

It is not "WoW"ing up your gameplay, because it came from Diablo. Get real buddy.

If you want "your Game" exactly how it is, play D2 ffs.

Amen! Sing it loud and high unto the High Heavens!

Yes, but if you don't go into public games, you don't interact with this community thing I keep bringing up... this is supposed to be a cooperative game yes? The community aspect is to allow a decently friendly interface for all people, be it new players, or veterans looking for others to explore the darkest depths of hell with. Why should I have to curb my behavior, one that is encouraged by Blizzard, just so I can be assured that my entertainment won't be ruined by something that supposedly cannot be helped?

Make a new character, go to a PvE realm. It's that simple.

EDIT, also come on? camped for hours...

Happened to me when I played Horde on Maelstrom in 2005. I couldn't leave Hillsbrad because I kept getting camped at the tower heading towards Tarren Mill.

So then why not introduce PvE realms in Diablo III?

So far from what I've read your biggest argument against PKing is that they disrupt your social interaction with other players. Therefore preventing you from making a lasting relationship with someone online. You're forced to roam a lonely existence from game to game wishing and hoping no one will bust in a interrupt your precious cooperative experience EVEN though you have easy, simple to use tools at your disposal to prevent this from happening. You simply cannot adapt and are left in the cold.

I am not trying to insult you. But there is a reason why the phrase "carebear" was coined and you pretty much sum it up perfectly.

Easy, simple to use tools? Like what? /camp? /petition? So, I have to halt my gaming experience so you can enjoy an easy, no-skill kill? This game is not about you, or me... this game is about us, the players, the fans, those who love the game for what it is.... a fun game to play with your friends to achieve a common goal. The goal is presented to us... "Kill stuff, collect goodies, beat the game"... it's designed to take place in a community.... much like Diablofans.com... we're a community of like minds who love Diablo. Why, then, would people pit each other against one another for the sake of mere amusement of ourselves? Aren't we supposed to be a community?

Yes, but with the vision that Blizzard has about increasing the speed and "epicness" of the gameplay, I think they'll keep the slot mechanic to keep the pace. *shrug* That's my thought on it. I really have no opinion either way

Wow they are really messing this game up for real. They need to keep it more like Diablo 2 and less like WOW lets try to please the Diablo fanbase not the WOW fanbase... kk thx.

Also if they make a pally and it doesnt have FOH Im going to be so mad.

Did you even read the earlier post? WoW got the idea of talent trees from Diablo's skill trees... yet nobody was saying "They need to keep it like Warcraft and less like Diablo". Stuff your bias, stuff your elitist attitude, and just enjoy the bloody game.

yes, im talking in terms of a wow pvp server though (where u can actually go kill a low level player in a neutral zone). you can always "pvp" in arenas on a pve server.

people play on pvp servers because they like the option of open ended world pvp.

And yet, a large public outcry has arisen for a while now about griefing and PKing... lower levels complaining that Hillsbrad can never be leveled in due to the incessant amount of high levels looking for a fight.... or what about in zones where PKing is encouraged? Hellfire Penninsula much? Western Plaguelands? How many times must a character endure camping or griefing until it becomes unfair to them when they're new and its their first character? How long should they just buck up and take it, preventing them from participating in the end-game content that Blizzard's WoW devs oh-so-love? Tell me how a level 21 new player who finds themself on the wrong side of the road, camped for hours, deserves to get griefed just because it is available?

Ok Im going to have to post on this. This has gone on for far to long.

#1 yes they probably will take out the PK factor ruining Diablo 3 but thats something that we cannot really stop because Blizzard is a big company and isnt going to listen.

The big company won't listen to the people who are supplying them with the money that nets them profit. You're right. >.>

#2 For all of you sticking up for WOW and wanting Diablo 3 to be like WOW (A completely different franchise) go play WOW please. Diablo 2 is actually part of the Diablo series and was a huge success so if your saying "Well this worked in WOW", Ill just rebuttle with "Well PKing worked in D2".
Obviously PKing didn't work out in D2, otherwise there wouldn't be people voicing a strong opinion against it, now would there be?

#3 If they take out PKing in Diablo 3 its going to decrease sales drastically and he is absolutely right (I read his entire post) The game is going to dry out quick if they make it so based on cooperative and everyone is just going to go back to Diablo 2 or WOW. Diablo 3 will fall apart soon after its release.
This is based on non-factual evidence presented by the opinions of a guy who enjoys ruining the pleasure of others. What support do you have that sales wouldn't boom? There are games out there that are PvE based games that are thriving across the world. Final Fantasy XI is one of the most prominent of them.

#4 I will be one of those pissed customers and if they take PVP/Pking out of the game than I am just going to buy it to beat the storyline and than Im going to go back to Diablo 2 and play it for a little bit and quit because Ive played it for so long and than just go back to Cabal Online.
Go then. If you're so quick to snub your nose at a quality franchise with quality lore and quality gameplay, we really don't want you to be a part of our gaming community.

#5 If you think your going to be one of those angry customers than try out Cabal Online. Cabal Online is the best MMO I have played and has lighting fast combat and excellent PVP.
    See above response.

That's why when you were killed by another player your ear dropped? Okay sure what ever you say. I guess the hostile button never really was mean't for PvP huh????

Having a PvP mechanism, i.e. the Hostile button, doesn't mean the game was designed for PvP with PvE elements... Just because an AK47 has a safety on it doesn't mean it's designed for safety with killing elements.

Just out of curiosity.... have you checked the validity of that statement? I just spent a good long while looking for any evidence of that post.... it was quoted from a person with no actual evidence that the statement was real. Find me proof, and I'll be at your mercy.

As a 40 year old white southern baptist who takes pride living through her children's meager sport recognitions am offended because I in fact like the name Big Dick Willy.

I deeply apologize for offending you. I meant it as a joke. Having lived in Georgia for 13 years, I take humor in pointing out stereotypes and desensitizing them with humor, especially that of the "Soccer moms" and the "Ghetto boyz".
