Yes but also remember the story has to be fresh and interesting. You can only re-invent the wheel so many times before no one cares anymore. Tyrael corrupting is something no one would expect; which is why it makes sense.

Tyrael becoming corrupt is something EVERYONE is expecting. Read the forums more. =P

and besides if they wanted to destroy the worldstone, dont you think Baal would've just done it? this is very open to arguement, but you cant say that he wouldnt have been able to do it bcuz he is a prime evil

He may be a Prime Evil, but it is not uncommon with tales of gods that they cannot undo what another god has done. Perhaps since the Worldstone was made by an Angel, it could only be destroyed by an Angel, the best the Prime Evils could do would be to corrupt it to their own nefarious purposes necessitating the destruction of it.

Look at the map, there's a HUGE crater up in the north where Arreat should be.

hell diablo might become a Nephalem allowing an exponential growth in power

    This.

This is why Heaven wants Sanctuary destroyed. Those in the High Heavens would never taint themselves by drawing on demonic energies, but they know The denizens of the Burning Hells have no such inhibitions about using angelic powers for malignance. This imbalance of power would all but assure the High Heavens' loss in the war against the Burning Hells. Let demons, Lesser Evils, or Prime Evils possess a Nephalem for a long enough period of time and, with no World Stone supressing their hybrid nature, Hell's minions will learn to use both ends of the specturm and dominate the soldiers of Heaven.

I had to register specifically to reply to this post. That was possibly the most amusing thing I've read in *months*. Thank you so much for sharing it.

Past the farcical verneer, though, it does illustrate the rediculous and extreme opinions that people have. It kind of makes me sad, they work so hard on this game for 4-5 years (how they did that with NO ONE finding out about it...) and they finally unveil it and rather than be met with praise and adoration of their 'fans' they are met with *relentless* criticism.
