Damn... why all the hate against the man and his team? Are you guys ignorant or something? Did you even read the whole 8 pages? Do you even understand how business works? Do you know how hard it is to start a company from scratch and work everything out using your own money?
I think what Flagship studios did was an achievement! Their only mistake (and he admits this btw) is that they tried too do too much with very little money. Their only problem was, they where used to Blizzard's funding, and always having millions and millions of dollars at their disposal to make a great game. I have absolutely no doubt at all in my mind, that if HG:L had the Blizzard seal of approval on it, it would have been A LOT more than it currently is. It would have been more finished and with more content. Because let's admit it, the concept was nice, It was different and daring, but that's what Blizzard is all about.
Anyways I hope all the best for Bill Roper and the guys who used to work at Blizzard North and Flagship.
And Uleman, PLEASE GO BACK AND MAKE DIABLO III's MUSIC!!!!! (Don't get me wrong, I like the music now, at least I don't hate it, but I know that Uleman would've made something more memorable and perfect)

I have to disagree here.Quote from "JELL" »Still, a lot of people will be disapointed when the game ships, developers just can`t please everyone.
I've havent heard of anyone disappointed by a GoW sequel, or a MGS sequel, or a FF sequel, or a RE sequel. and that's just to name a few.
anyways I highly doubt that Diablo III will be anything near disappointing.

Jul 14, 2008Djinn_690 posted a message on Diablo III Thoughts From Ex-Blizzard EmployeeI think that blizzard north would have done a superb job on Diablo III if they where they ones that completed the project.Posted in: News
I would also like to point out that, considering they didn't have a fraction of the funding they had available to them when they where working with blizzard, does not make them less creative or bad game developers. I believe that if with the right funding Hell Gate London would have been a big success, sadly though they where limited to what they could do, and they probably made a miracle happen with whatever funds they had.
If they still had the funding and backing of Blizzard I'm more than sure that we would all be playing their masterpiece(Diablo III) by now and loving every second of it.
At they very least I'm sure they would never have even thought "I wonder what would happen if we make a Fast Paced Action RPG version of WoW" - which sadly seems to be what was going on in the heads of the current developers when they where working on it. -

I absolutely agree with you.Quote from "NP-RandyWest" »It sucks that Blizzard always think so much about the random retard, but never about the skilled player.
The thing that made Diablo II sooo F*****G amazing was that it was very realistic and while the action is very amazing and fast paced and there was demons running around, it was still realistic, because, u can get scammed or robbed (dont say wtf just yet) I'm not saying that I enjoy getting scammed or robbed off of a good item, but I like the fact that, just like you could get robbed in real life, you can get robbed in the game, (not to mention that some scams where genius and I couldnt help but smile after the initial shock :D)
Second, while the government controls part of the economy IRL, its mostly the people, and business men that affect it and change it all the time. but in the era that Diablo was set in, I dont think the government played a major role in the economy, so It only makes sense that its controlled by the people who play the game.
Lastly, for all you people who like the WoW-like Art, Duel system, economy system, etc, etc. STICK TO YOUR GODDAMN WoW AND LEAVE DIABLO FOR US!!!
instead of telling me to stick to playing Diablo II, You stick to your WoW!! I want Diablo III to be a "Diablo" sequel not a fast paced WoW game. -
Jul 8, 2008Djinn_690 posted a message on Diablo III PK and PvPnow I'm totally depressed!Posted in: News
blizzard is taking out the heart and soul of diablo 3 and replacing it with one from WoW.
the art direction is WoW-ish, when i paused the gameplay video over the skills it looked like the 20 skill tab on the D2 skill tree has been replaced by some WoW-like skill system.
and now the PvP aspect of the game seems like its going to lean more towards a WoW-ish view rather than a Diablo view.... WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU BLIZZARD!!! (sorry but I'm seriously frustrated)
What made the Diablo series so great was that it kept you excited, and the PvP system was one of the most exciting aspects of Diablo. knowing that you could be killed by someone at any moment is part of the fun and it kept people involved with the game.
if u didnt want that, u could always make a password proteced game or put a level tab on ur game... easy as that!!!!
The Diablo II skill tree was one of the best damn things that ever happened to the Diablo games. because of it we where able to have many many builds of the same class, the builds seemed infinite. they where certaintly much more than anything the WoW skill system offered.
And the art, NO BLIZZARD ITS NOT JUST MUSIC THAT GIVES DIABLO ITS DARK FEEL!!! music is a huge factor in the equation but even more importantly is the color scheme. NICE COLORFUL RAINBOWS DONT FEEL LIKE "DIABLO" AT ALL!!!! no matter how eerie the music playing in the background is.
Blizz needs to take their heads out of WoW's ass and look into Diablo's instead!!!
P.S please excuse me for my language but I think I have the right to be mad as I am a "Diablo" fan who has been waiting for this game to come out for 8 years!!! and seeing them turn this game to something more of a non MMO WoW game is just disgusting to me!! - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

I wouldn't invest a point in a skill if I'm not going to use its full power.
I don't think anyone would!

or maybe if they have ladders for PvP they would reward the top player with something.
same with the regular ladder, It would be great to know that your getting a reward for being the top players on that list by the time the ladder resets (or whoever is first to achieve the highest amount of xp possible)
I think this will create a much better competitive atmosphere and add a lot more value to online play.
So what do you guys think?
any ideas as to what the reward should be?

I have another problem now too... why does he use "fury" instead of MP
its like they`re intentionally forcing all these WoW ideas into Diablo. it wouldn`t hurt them if they just stuck to MP instead of implementing a WoW idea.
since this is blizz we are talking about and they are a strategically smart company, I`m guessing that they are sure in the next few years the WoW subscribers will slim down a great deal and to prevent them from going to different game companies, Diablo III has been made as similar to the Warcraft games as possible, so WoW subcribers can familiarize themselves with this game and get into Diablo. and the next thing you know, come 2012 and the Announcement of the World of Diablo comes.

I' doubt it will change the gameplay drastically, I mean, people are still gonna kill boss xyz a shitload of times for the loot, so whouldnt it be better if you got rewarded for killing him so many times.
Its a win-win situation, you kill the guy for loot and in the process also get rewarded for it.

I was both shocked and disappointed at what I found out.
The 20/20 skill tab has been replaced with a different system, which seems more similar to WoW's system.
Now I'm sure that the WoW system was great for WoW, but would it really be better than the old skill system Diablo II had?
some poeple might argue that they would rather put in 1 point to max a skill rather than 20 points.
and here is where my question comes: Do you really belive that a 1/1 skill will be as powerful as a 20/20 skill
I don't.
and this is why.
While yes they are different skills for completly different classes, they are still somewhat similar, and can be compared since they both add a % of damage to the original weapon damage, and both are "charging" attacks.

tryrael's wings are more like thick white tentacles.
the other angels they have in their art work section though, they do have some blue in their wings, making them better candidates than tyrael.

I think what he was trying to say was:
Don't you think Blizz should have at least showed us what Blizz north was working on, so we can compare it to the version they currently have?
the rest is mostly just complaints about blizzard and WoW and he thinks that Blizz noth should have taken the Diablo franchise with them when they left blizzard, instead of letting the WoW crew take over, etc. etc. etc.

and I will hopefully try to submit a few character strategies (my old diablo II account had a lvl 90 smiter, used him for ubering, a lvl 88 summon necro, who was also able to solo uber btw, a lvl 92 h-din, a lvl 85 light sorc, and a lvl 82(i think) trap assassin, i aslo had a lvl 88 WW IK barb, but he was fail)

kk let me try a scenario explanation,
WD and barb are in a game room.
WD finds a weapon thats not so effective for him but pretty valuable for a barb
the WD doesnt know its value to the barb and decides to sell it to a vendor for some money
now what I'm asking is:
when the barb goes to check the vendor's stock, will he see the weapon that the WD just sold?

what do you people think?

or how about the fear and sense of danger you felt when you knew that if you got hit by a certain type of monster it would reduce one of stats permenantly. (sorry my memory is a bit vague since the last time I played it was around 7 years ago so i dont remember the names of the monsters)
and yes I agree with you about the Resident evil and modern day horror games way of doing things, but they usually try to impose those feelings through music and sound effects more so than through visuals.

secondly, I doubt you read any of my other comments so dont F*****G accuse me of QQ posts about the art direction.
third of all, dont tell me to go find a new game... its none of your f*****g business what games I will, or wont play.
yes you're right and that's what added to the whole constant sense of danger poeple felt while playing that game.
Some people didnt like it though.
but there was still millions of others that like it and consider it to be the best in the series so far.
Edit: sorry it's 2 am here and I've been up since 6 last morning so im a bit tired and easily agitated now -_-;;
