Yes, yes, I forgot about the class specific armor in D2. I just wanted to point out that every class could wear plate, leather, or cloth armor etc... So it's not like Necros have to wear cloth, and Barbarians have to wear plate. However, the same armor; I.E. Gothic plate looked different on every character though it was the same armor. That was all I was trying to point out. I also believe that while there may not be strict class only armor in D3, some armor will probably heavily favor certain classes by granting plus skills, or certain attributes that pretain to a specifc class.

ah yep i get ya now, i kinda reacon its stupid though , from what it sounds we are gonna be able to use a caster with mail/plate armors and what not thats just stupid in my eyes lol.

I'm glad everything outdoors will be mainly static, after playing Titan Quest: Immortal Throne, and seeing how long the appeal lasts, I'd rather have static environments than playing Hellgate:London which consisted of poorly done bland repetitive Tilesets and an automated map generator ( the random maps in Hellgate were not hand made ). I think the parts in Diablo 3 that will be random would be the caves, crypt's, ect., that you find throughout the game that are more of a choice to explore than required.

sorry to say apeal lasts? titan quest pretty much died in the first few months, they baught out the exp to revive it and that didnt work?, why? because of static environments made it repetitive, knowing where to run and what to do to farm a boss for items, it bored me to hell, amoung others such as its pitiful story line and lack of real content.

Im not to fused with static environments i prefer to have to thik each time i go into a new area or the same area at another time.

Please everyone, try to read the the entire post before jumping to conclusions.

*Out door areas will be mostly static, does not mean the whole world will be static and everything in it.

*There was no class specific armor in D2... everyone could wear any type of armor, it just looked different on the characters. It was noted previously by Bashiok that there would still be class specific weapons and such.

Please do your home work before you make a response, D2-LOD had class specific weapons aswell as Armors read up please.

I also hope the environment isnt static, im hoping none of the areas are thats what made titan quest boring for me knowing where to go to farm a boss for items.

Also i dont really like the Graphic detail of the environment looks like a painted picture to me probly just me but thats what im seeing, the 3d rendered characters look nice.

Character/ class wise im hoping there is a caster class, but from the looks of it NO NECROMANCER #@!$!@$$#!$!#@$#@$!#@$#@$!%$#@!@#$!#@$$, i love my necro :(.

    P.s darker dungeons please :P.

If you look at the background it kinda does look cartoony and drawn in, the 3d rendered models look nice its just the surrounding areas lol.

Ive love diablo ever since it was created, so ill prob still buy the game.

I just want the bodies on the floor to stay there or stay alot longer than what they do atm, light radius needs to be back in the dungeons, and also i cant get over the fact at how painted/ drawn picture looking the background is lLOL sorry but i just cant it looks so wierd, the character models look nice but the background gets to me.

Hopefully bliz does change a few things or adds certain options into the menu to please some people like turning floating numbers off and turning light radius on or off or something like that.

P.S, i woulda thought D3 would be released before sc2? cause apparently from what i read a few months ago they werent even half way through the Sc2 story line.

posted a message on Bashiok Answers Gameplay Video Concerns
Bashiok: Aw, of course we care! A large part of my job is specifically to ensure that the valid concerns, comments, and critiques are brought to the appropriate people's attention. That doesn't mean that every idea or suggestion is something we agree with, or are going to base changes on though. There's a point where, as a game designer, you have to stick to your guns and know that your choices and direction are what's best for the game and ultimately those that will be playing it. There's a point where you have to be confident that you're making the right decisions. So at the end of the day you're staying true to your vision and design, and doing what's best for the game.

A good example of us paying attention though was the concern and thread about corpses not sticking around long enough. I read that thread, brought it up, and some discussion was happening on it. Later our lead tech artist Julian was reading through the replies, and got some ideas of how we may want to keep corpses on screen a little longer. Now we're playing around with some changes that shouldn't have a huge performance hit, while still keeping the corpses on screen for variable amounts of time. Hopefully it works out.

Would any experimentation for corpse decay have happened had it not been brought up on the forums? I don't know, maybe, but we're not just dismissing good, valid, and well reasoned concerns.

As I said not every suggestion, comment, or idea is going to be considered, but we're definitely watching and reading.

    Thanks, jinx_spam

The top sentence ive highlited, sorry but to stick to your guns?, look what happened to HGL they tryed to stick to their guns with forced instances and crapy trading and look what happened to them, its the same with most other games, if you stick to your guns on shit that YOU yourselves want in the game, doesnt mean the 6million + people who buy your games want what you want cause atm we DONT.

As for the corpse staying and performance issues, do your home work the average gamer these days has a fricking core duo or quad core with at least an 8600+ card corpse staying on the ground is not going to effect our performance, i for one spent good money on a new computer to be able to run all the next gen games out nd coming out, so please enough of this bs performance crap and just fix it.

And as many others have stated aswell, we bloody well hope your making the game darker cause all im seeing atm with these graphics is a drawn background picture with a 3d rendered character and its pissing me off.

Oh and before i forget floating numbers?, please put an option in the game to take these off at least i dont wanna see floating numbers coming off me 24/7.

exactly mate, if you go by history, D1 had 3, D2 had 5 then the exp made 7, its only logical to add maybe 1 or 2 extra chars in D3, or even make 5 new chars with new skills and abilities, rathe than remake old ones, and indeed it was an EXP but its still Diablo and part of the main Diablo story line.

Why? DII had 5. A lot of chars is hard to do quickly...

Nec would be redundant. I'm already not so happy with barb.

    How's WD wowish?

include LOD in your comment it makes 7.

Diablo III is not a Diablo II expansion. They are not "getting rid" of any classes, because all those classes are in the past, in Diablo II, they were played for 8 years and they are boring now. They are making a new game that will have new classes, and just because Barbarian is named that way doesn't mean he's a copy of the DII barbarian. And just because the Witch Doctor is there doesn't mean he "replaced" anybody. Nor does DIII relate to DII but not LoD - they could easily recycle some druid skills and put them in some totally new class.

Hmm from what i can see he is the babarrian from D2, even when he meets decard caine again, Decard Caine you still live, Ah my old friend its good to see you, and lets not forget he has the same moves as he does in D2, prob got new ones aswell too.

But yeah 5 chars is meh/ bleh shoulda been 6-7 shoulda kept the nec witch doctor sorry guys its been said BUT, hes TOOOOOO WOWISH in my eyes.
